Guest American Woman Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) He may be referring to this article: "I'm not sure if the Israeli standpoint is that much different than the Canadian standpoint, having had the experience in Afghanistan," said Canadian Armed Forces Chief of the Defense Staff, General Walter J. Natynczyk, in a Tuesday interview to the IDF journal Bamahane. Natynczyk was commenting on the Goldstone report, which sharply criticized IDF tactics employed during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza last winter, saying he wished to read the report in order to understand whether the document took into account the complexities of the reality in which Israel had operated and the methods used by the enemy it was battling. The general stated that the Canadian military has "really come to understand and appreciate what the Israeli forces have had to counter for quite some time," adding that he now saw in a new light "the techniques, the way and the procedures that the Israeli military has adopted and evolved over the past few decades." At any rate, this article is an interesting read. Edited October 21, 2009 by American Woman Quote

myata Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Shooting straight, but true, Canada's mission in Afghanistan (pacifying and rebuilding unruly barbarians) is not entirely unlike Isreael's quest in the occupied territories (pacifying - yes we know who, while also appropriating some more land, as a bonus). Our friends do indeed reflect upon who we are. Perhaps, there should be more prominent role for the military in defining this country's foreign policy? Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
naomiglover Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 I wonder if our Chief will pay a visit to Gaza to see what a great job Israel's military has done. He seems to already be praising Israel but he says he will hold his judgment until he reads the report? What's with politicians kissing Israel's ass? M.Dancer Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 What's with politicians kissing Israel's ass? Maybe there's less poop on it than the Arab's... Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
myata Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 And of course, he (they) would know it before reading reports, papers, or even looking out the window. The friends's ass uber alles (justice, laws, morals, examination, investigation, or God forbid, condemnation). Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
