ToadBrother Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) Christians in Africa are targeted and assassinated regularly. Who wishes to disagree with this? There are cites in the first post of this topic if you chose to read it. In some parts of Africa, yes. In other parts of Africa, they pretty much make up a large chunk of the population. Africa is an incredibly diverse landmass. Making sweeping generalizations is ludicrous. As others have pointed out, in many areas where violence and corruption is rife, like Zimbabwe and Kenya, Christians make up the overwhelming percentage of the population (Zimbabwe, for instance, is 84% Christian according to Wikipedia). So yes, in the Sudan, there is definitely violence against Christians, but in other parts of Africa it appears to be Christian vs. Christian. I know I'm tough on you, but you say absurd and often inaccurate things, and this is one of them. The problems of Islamism in Africa come in part from the importation of more extreme variants of Islam, and, as typical in failed states like Somalia, it's significantly more complex than just Islamic radicals. Mr.Canada Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 It's really sad that the world doesn't care that Christians are being targeted for death by Muslims and killed on sight in many places. Truly sad. Perhaps the Vatican needs to start paying for its own armed forces to protect its people from the people whoi would target and kill us. It is sad, however the numbers in the OP make it hard to justify a policy change. It's good to keep in mind that the US is already involved in Somalia, though indirectly. chuck schmidt Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 The bible is pretty violent as well I hear. Some people think that thousands in the Third World die every year because of western foreign policies and greed. What should we do about that? Matthew 7:3 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Some people think that thousands in the Third World die every year because of western foreign policies and greed. What should we do about that? Perhaps we should ask the even more tens of thousands who emmigrate to the evil western nations. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
