Wait for it...we have Liberal policy in the making and it comes by way of Ignatieff's dreams. I say dreams because such inspiration could not come to him in one solitary dream.

Mr. Ignatieff has an inspirational dream of turning Canadians into the best educated, healthiest, most productive, innovative and entrepreneurial people “on the face of the earth” by 2017, the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

There. That should please just about every voter in Canada. Except, I don't see child care in that list. That's usually right up there with the Liberal dream, as it has been since at least 1993. Oh well, healthier maybe could include universal child care. State run child care would be healthier for our kids so that works, right?

Minor details like costing and a plan are to come.

The clock is ticking....2010....2011....2012.....2013..., my how time flies....just four more years until we enter Utopia.

I have the same dream although I think we both have a different way to get there. Mine is to reinvent the way things are done where our country is headed, and to have specific changes. Ignatieff's seems to be about winning votes.

You know I have seen three separate threads using the same CP story.

Yes, we get it. You don't like Ignatieff.

Kinda sounds like you regarding a different topic. Harper's appointing Conservatives! Help! Help! Somebody!

And we get it. You don't like Harper.

I don't. The fact that he is doing what he accused the Liberals of doing and the right wing saying: We don't have a choice is pretty rich.

And we get you too. You don't like anyone who isn't right wing.

But Ignatieff is right wing. He is the biggest supporter the Conservatives have.

If that is really true then Layton should never have supported Ignatieff as PM.

Agreed no one should support Ignatieff to be PM Dobbin. Although you are being intentionally misleading.

How is it misleading to say that Layton wanted a coalition with Ignatieff?

Really because I remember Ignatieff supporting a coalition Dobbin? Maybe it was just to get ride of the lefties in the party.

"I support the [coalition] accord because it's fiscally responsible, it provides responsible economic leadership in tough times and it also conserves the basic principles of national unity, equality, that our party has always believed in."

See we can both be misleading Dobbin isn't this fun.

punked, I clearly remember you trumpeting Ignatieff has your hero and will surely squash PM Harper as soon as he was made leader. Have you changed your stance?

Ah, ok I see. Imo Ignatieff is moving the Liberal party back to the centre where it belongs. This will push Harper back to the right.

If Ignatieff doesn't do this he will never get elected as PM. There aren't enough votes on the left for him to become PM as he has to share them with Layton.

Martin moving the Liberals so far to the left was a terrible move and they have suffered for it as the centre voters don't feel comfortable voting for a party with NDP like policies.

Harper knows this and moves the Tory platform to the centre so he can scoop up those votes. Which sucks because it leaves populist right wingers like myself feeling duped but where are our votes gonna go? To the Liberals or NDP? I don't think so. lol.

That may have happened in your universe, but not in the one that most people live in. If anything, Martin moved them to the right of where Chretien had parked them.

Yah only having 60+% of the votes on the left who could ever when with that number.................wait a minute 60% is easily a majority of Canada. Silly me, silly math.

Yah good luck with your crazy party if it ever gets started we all know how many votes it will get 4.

I never said Ignatieff didn't support a coalition after Harper's gambit. The problem for Layton is that he says Ignatieff is just like Harper. If that is so, why did he ever support a coalition?

Because he has never taken a position on anything accept to toe the party line no one knew what direction he would take the party in. Most people still don't know what he stands for. One minute saying "We are spending too much money, debt, debt, debt" then next screaming for more stimulus. Then EI is an issue he will never back down on and two months later backing down. He is a flippy floppy being puppeted by back room boys.

Layton didn't know he was dealing with someones only thing he knows he stands for is to kill the left in the country.

Your guys refused to run together in an election because Canadians went crazy and didn't want it. Don't you remember that?

I don't remember Canadians going crazy at all. What were the Conservatives polling at the time 55%? Wait is was something like 40% so less then the Majority of Canadians is what you are saying. So the left is bigger then right. Man you are on fire tonight in proving your point. Maybe you were polling 50% among whites cause that is all that matters right MR. C?

40% is a majority in this country kid.

Also there's no way to know that the remainder would vote for a coalition. If it was a lock Ignatieff would have voted Harper down long ago but even he isn't that stupid.

40% is not a majority of the population. BTW I think you need to look at the 1979 election 40% doesn't even make you government sometimes Mr. Canada. although what do you know right?

I know and read everything. 40% of the vote wins a majority more times then not. Chretien only had over 40% once in all his majorities.

Pierre Trudeau won 40.11% in a 4 party system in 1979 like today and guess what he not only didn't get a Majority but he didn't lost by 22 seats. So don't act all high and mighty when you clearly don't understand how our system works.
