Shady
Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency. CNET It seems as though nothing is safe from the tentacles of the Obama administration. Just in case you're keeping score at home... 1) The financial industry. 2) The automobile industry. 3) The internet. 4) And very possibly healthcare. sharkman
It's quite alarming to me that obamites are so willing to give the beast his head. Obama can simply do no wrong in their eyes as he buries their country in a sea of debt and then reaches for healthcare, the internet, and who knows what's next? At least Bush's supporters could take issue with faults they found, like his spending ways and willingness to play nice with Dems when they needed a swift backhand. But the messiah has no fault it seems.
punked
No thanks the internet only works a free flowing form of ideas and information. I don't like Harpers bill, I don't like this one, I like it the way it is.
