...I know it's the American way - and you suck the life out of other nations - and the life out of your own nation - When are you going to give up eating human flesh? I hope you get mad bull disease!

Then why do you come to my country with your money? If you can trade goats and chickens in Canada, then do it.

Firstly you don't really have any money - and it's a matter of time before China comes for all your chickens. We come to your country (on occassion and it is rare) because you bribed some of our skilled medical guys...wait --------------------------what am I talking about - who even said that your doctors were any good to begin with - making 5 million a year does not mean you are the best...My oldest daughter had an in-operatable brain tumor - interwoven into her brain stem.....It was a very bad experience for me - but she never cried once nor did I show fear - I had to have faith ----and her name is Faith - so I learned what faith really was - I was willing to lose her - if that was the will of God...BUT that surrender had a second side - One of the worlds top two brain surgeons was at my disposal. Between his skill and my faith - my daughter is a thriving adult - productive and bright - with some hidden bionic parts. BUT I do admit - this old doctors wife died - and he as an old man - went south -------------------to practice within his few remaining years ....why? I don't know - You tell me!

What I can say - is I had a better surgeon at my disposal than senator Kennedy....explain that? Me a nobody - had the best on the planet to help safe my first born? We must have done something right within our system!

Yes....it is parked next to the American system. Makes the drive very easy.....

Some SubSaharan Africans make do with only a witch doctor, and no whining about insurance.

This doctor looked like Mr. Rodgers...he did not even acknowledge your existance..he was methodical and cold - but he was the best - no emotion what so ever..He did what he had to do - other doctors with less talent wanted in on the action - I interviewed a few brain surgeons..who wanted to make a name for themselves - The old guy was past wanting to be famous - If it were not for him - my daugher would be in a wheel chair or dead. He was paid well in Canada - and I am sure that he would be paid ten times more in the states - But with him I felt he wanted to be allowed to do his best - to shine to excell to his limit..In Canada we support the mediorce and drive out the brave and bright. By the way - there are some very good witch doctors. Health is a spiritual entity...I know what makes me sick and I know how to make myself well...some don't - they need extra care....so what are we to do with the less evolved? Let them die because they will not buy us a new car?

No shit....and that's why we have to spend so much money. 80% of the costs are for 20% of the people. The poor "Africans" are living real lives...short they may be....we are the ones with plastic expectations and "insurance".

Other than dentistry and the super high cost of it (Zionist conspiracy of course) I probably need to see a doctor about once in every ten years...and maybe at the end of my life once for a morphine script - recreational of course - seeing it does not matter what you are addicted to at 85... I might just drink Vodka in bed playing Barry White dance tunes on my clock radio...you understand what I am talking about..try to explain these concepts to modern man - who is part of the machine - who never had a mother to love them and goes to emerg with the sniffles just so the lonely bastard can have some human touch - I might just set up shop in front of the local hospital and sell human touch - one dollar for the healing and 5 bucks for a kind word...

Can't wait for a reply - looks like we got some work done here. people have become dependant on other people - on care - on health care. You come into this world alone and you leave this world alone...your health is your responsiblity - as is heath care...you can not pay someone to care - nor are you going to get care for free - YOU have to care about yourself...and sickness should be an unfortunate accident not a plan for the future.

Too late for that...now we have people who want free health services from cradle to grave, and free abortions to prevent someone else from ever getting there. I predict that soon it will be patriotic to die on time (a la "Soylent Green").

And they keep pouring it on......

....Told by Canadian doctors in 2007 he couldn't have the procedure there, Mercado's family and doctor appealed to Ontario health officials, who agreed to let him have the transplant in Detroit in January 2008.

The Karmanos Institute is one of several Detroit health facilities that care for Canadians needing services not widely available in Canada.

Canada, for example, has waiting times for bariatric procedures to combat obesity that can stretch to more than five years, according to a June report in the Canadian Journal of Surgery.

As a result, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in April designated 13 U.S. hospitals, including five in Michigan and one more with a tentative designation, to perform bariatric surgery for Canadians.

This 20% is mainly composed of drug addicts, therefore, of people living a fixated artificial life with no need for expectations.

OK...then everybody gets an equal voucher or health care services allotment....then we can buy and sell like carbon credits.

Libertarians like Charles Murray (of the American Enterprise Institute), following the path opened by Milton Friedman, wants to see welfare programs replaced by social dividends or a negative income tax. Give the money to the people, Murray argues in his 2006 book, In Our Hands : A Plan To Replace The Welfare State. His plan would give a $10,000 yearly grant to all Americans, once 21, who are not in jail. Of this $10,000, $3,000 has to be devoted to health care. (By doing so, non-workers will be seen for what they are: people wisely living out of a fair compensation for having traded away their direct access to natural resources.)

...and the rich Canadians would still go to the Mayo Clinics. All is well.

It's too bad poor Americans don't have someplace to go.

But then, it's not like they're important or anything.

Agreed....the health care consumer has become very de-coupled from the actual costs. They need to have more skin in the game before accessing services.
I am in favor of catastrophic insurance, period.

When I was a child, pediatrician visits used to cost my parents about $15, which in today's money, generously, would be $90. What doctor visit costs anything like that little in the States? If fees were set in bargaining between willing consumers and willing provides, I predict that fees would drop to that level. No faceless bureaucrat is going to approach those cost savings, whether working for Washington, Ottawa, any state or provincial authority, or private insurance company.
