punked Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 He also cautioned about using the military. From your own link: However your guy wants to go in regardless. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...60507/20060508/ That is a troop commitment right there. Troops out of Afghanistan to Darfur. I don't see it. Layton said a major Canadian commitment to a UN mission in Darfur, where at least 180,000 people have died and millions are refugees because of a bitter civil war, would likely get much broader public backing. "Our view is that this is exactly the kind of peacekeeping role that Canadians have always supported,'' Layton said Sunday. "Canada invented the concept of UN-led peacekeeping forces under (then diplomat Lester) Pearson'' in the 1950s. Where is the troop commitment. I think saying going after the leader through "any means necessary" as Iggy has said is a much more escalating statement then saying. "If our people don't support a war we should get out and if they support peacekeeping somewhere we should do that" Personally your attack is a bit of a big lie. Not like this is site on Iggy. Yes if our people want something we should do it. What is wrong with that I know liberals would think they don't know what is best for them but I think the Canadian people are pretty smart. Quote
jdobbin Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 I don't see it. I'm not surprised you don't. Quote
punked Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 (edited) I'm not surprised you don't. Yah because you like to put words in peoples mouth instead of looking at what they have actually said like Iggy there and his support of Republican Intervention for 6 years in Iraq. jdobbin Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Yah because you like to put words in peoples mouth instead of looking at what they have actually said like Iggy there and his support of Republican Intervention for 6 years in Iraq. If you want to think that what Latron said doesn't man troops, by all means. He must just want to mention moving Afghan troops and Darfur in the same press conference for no reason. Quote

He must just want to mention moving Afghan troops and Darfur in the same press conference for no reason. See this is the problem you don't see a key concept in this equations Layton said the will of the Canadian people. If the Canadian people want it. Not like Iggy in the past who has supported sending troops into Israel to enforce peace, something the AMERICAN people becuase he was ignoring Canada at this point did not support. One leader thinks we should listen to the people the other feels he has reached moral high ground where he can answer to know one but himself. Quote

punked Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 (edited) Canadians wanted to help Afghanistan too. Layton was against it. And they want out and Layton is for it, while the Liberals and Conservatives extend the mission time and time again. But this isn't about Layton it is about Ignatieff and his poor judgement time and time again. On intervention in Iraq, on Torture, and his beliefs we should throw our morals out the door. We play by the rules becuase if we didn't who would? Edited July 16, 2009 by punked Quote
jdobbin Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 And they want out and Layton is for it, while the Liberals and Conservatives extend the mission time and time again. The polls said that Canadians want to finish the mission by the deadline. The NDP want to remove them now. But this isn't about Layton it is about Ignatieff and his poor judgement time and time again. On intervention in Iraq, on Torture, and his beliefs we should throw our morals out the door. We play by the rules becuase if we didn't who would? It is all about Layton about how he wants to go to into another war in Darfur. Quote
Alta4ever Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Now, it would be nice if Tories would own up to it.I certainly hope the site is up if an election is held. Elections Canada could count it as a party ad. It would be nice if the liberals would own up to grit girl. Quote "What about the legitimacy of the democratic process, yeah, what about it?" punked Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 I just wanted to point out with VP Dick in the news for this same thing. Republican Ignatieff was for it the whole time geneva convention be damned. "We might even have to engage in certain forms of targeted assassination"- Republican cheerleader Ignatieff Bush must have loved this guy no wonder they set up a site for him. Quote
jdobbin Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 so grit girl is a liberal party advertising source. She certainly appears to be a Liberal party member. And it is Liberal advertising. I wonder if Conservatives will come clean about the site they are running. Quote
