DogOnPorch Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Once you take into account Iran's advanced military technologies, the Golan Heights is not a strategic region any longer. Bull. It's a great artillery platform. You can see all the way to the coast. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

jbg Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Once you take into account Iran's advanced military technologies, the Golan Heights is not a strategic region any longer. Your one liners are getting tiresome. This one-liner is inaccurate because of the water issue. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
DogOnPorch Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Advanced technology doesn't depend on human eyes. Everything on the battlefield depends on human eyes including satellites and drones. That being said, the Golan is still one of the best artillery platforms in the world. The extra height gives the shells extra range and you can see exactly where those shells land without the need for anything more than a pair of binoculars...if that. We have seen the same thing when settlements were moved out of Sinai and Gaza. It can get pretty messy. Are you suggesting the settlement should have stayed? Quote

benny Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 I am saying adding more settlers is most likely a bad idea if this is what happens when they finally have to leave. I think Canadian Jews would laugh at Canadian politicians agonizing like that about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Quote

Why would they have to leave? Couldn't they just become citizens of Palestine when the time comes....if it comes? Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

Nope the Settlements are a part of Israel and are recognized as sovereign Israeli land. That is why they bull doze everything in the past when they gave the land back. DogOnPorch Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Besides...that would be immaterial. Perhaps the rest of the planet should force those two to WORK TOGETHER to build the West Bank. Call me mad...lol. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

Sure, the US has to force a two-state solution on Israelis but it doesn't have to send troops to achieve this at all: the US president only has to say: Before Iran president orders a nuclear attack on Isreal, I will bomb those Jewish squats (settlements) by ... (a precise but negotiable date in the future), so get out of these squats or face death. Edited July 21, 2009 by benny Quote
