KrustyKidd Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Lets ask the guy who threw his shoes at Bush what he thinks- he lives there.Oh wait he is in prison with broken ribs. Think they let him out the other day... he's considered a HERO by the people of Iraq. EVen his brand of shows were sold out. Theres your capitalism. Is that why he was arrested and imprisoned by the government elected by the people of Iraq? Today-"Baghdad market blast kills scores" At least 61 dead, 116 wounded. On June 22 in Kirkuk: Truck bomb explodes, 73 killed, 200 injured. Yeah sounds grrreat Hooray for dixie... Once again the people of Iraq have stated they wish the US to leave. Hey, how many women do they "allow" now in the current Iraqi parliament? How many were elected under Saddam?Oh well, never mind. Eighty niine. Roughly a third. Under Saddam none were elected asa elections did not take place. Wondering.......how many women dissenters are dragged from their homes and beheaded in front of family and neighbors after being branded as prostitutes? Quote We're Paratroopers Lieutenant. Sir Bandelot Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Call me cynical but I do not believe that all situations are conducive to democracy- when there are great differences between tribal groups, when distrust has gone on for several generations, there will always be resentment and hate waiting just below the surface. Foreign occupiers may impose law and order but when they leave, the knives come back out. See Yugoslavia. For those types who will not live in civility the only way to maintain order, aside from breaking the country up is by dictatorship. June 25, 2009 BAQUBAH, Iraq - "At 11 a.m. one day in May, eight Iraqi army Humvees barreled into government headquarters of fractious Diyala province, clouds of dust billowing behind them. They had orders to arrest a council member who belonged to a party that had run afoul of Nouri al-Maliki, Iraq's increasingly assertive prime minister." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31538218/ns/wo...ashington_post/ There is ony one way to run a country like Iraq. eyeball Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 (edited) For those types who will not live in civility the only way to maintain order, aside from breaking the country up is by dictatorship. We should try letting Iraq break up. Unfortunately this seems to be the most threatening option to the west. Perhaps this stems from fears of breakaway states developing elsewhere. It seems a fitting irony considering the west is largely responsible for cobbling together modern Iraq and much of the region around it in the first place. bush_cheney2004 Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 We should try letting Iraq break up..... "We" should? Why not practice what "we" should do with Quebec first and let us know how that works out. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Oleg Bach Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 "We" should? Why not practice what "we" should do with Quebec first and let us know how that works out. There is no "we" when it comes to Quebec..it's more like an us and them scenario...just can't forget the British French wars...what do we expect from French and English Canada? How can their be unity in what have been sworn -------------enemys - for over 500 years? It's like the Soonies and the Sheites...and never the twain shall meet - untill we are so over immigrated that English and French Canada become tiny minorities and squaking special interest groups - that should take about 50 years at this rate..
