sharkman
...However, I was recently the victim of c/c fraud, (I caught it quickly and only 4 or 5 small purchases were outstanding), and now I am thinking about a internet purchases only card with a small balance. A friend told me you can also purchase a prepaid c/c which will not allow any purchases beyond its balance. I haven't looked into it yet, I'm still afraid to purchase anything more on line. So, after over 2 months, Scotiabank still hadn't sent me the forms to sign on this c/c fraud. I had phoned them after 1 month, so I phoned them again asking for these forms that listed the fraud purchases that they needed me to sign. They informed me that they were still waiting for some data from one of the vendors which is why it was taking so long. I had to point out that I still hadn't received the forms after 9 weeks. They promised to send them, and I finally got them yesterday. So upon looking over the transactions I realize the number was 37 counts of fraud, over $1000, all done on one day. It makes one cautious, if they had stolen my identity the damage would have wrecked my life for the next 6 to 18 months. Man I hate criminals.

No big deal to the credit card companies, as it is already factored in to the cost of doing business, which is reflected in their rates and fees. Maybe the crminals work for the banks!
