Oleg Bach Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 So the virtue of work (or the virtues of workers) figures primarily in his parables....not sloth, unless you count the prodigal son....and yes..he returned to his father's abode to...work. The fathers prime motivation in the acceptance of the way ward son was not to put him to work immediately on return..the father would respect the son and give him time to come to his OWN senses in these regards. Dad was just glad to have his boy home and really did not care if the kid ever worked another day in his life - this is not the story of some utilitarian father who looked at offspring as tools - I am sure that once the lazy kid got hungry he would start watering the garden...there is a difference between industry and the accumulation of needless wealth and work to survive...you have to make a physical effort to survive as a physical body in the physical world - that's physics. Those that complain about the poor not working are usually those with vested interests in slavery. Quote

Oleg Bach Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Remembering my old hood - there was a common greeting used among the red neck slaves "are yuh workin?" It was a badge of honour..to say you were employed - even if it meant breathing cancer causing paint fumes in a room without a window or vent. I agree with the prior writer - we have to change our attitude about effort (work) we should allow individuals to do what they are designed and born to do..not force them to serve us and reprimand and embarass those that are non-compliant to OUR ambitious finacial and social needs. This is the new economy coming forth - where you do what you do best..and all prosper - control over your fellows is old fashioned and abusive - use the talents of people - do not quash them. Quote
benny Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 If you believe that, you have probably never worked a day in your life. What is economically more significant is that, for a production of the same value, working hard makes a person hungrier than using talents. Quote

Does a talented stevadore work hard or effortlessly Now if you are motivated to post some more nonsensical non sequiturs, just stop yourself and admit your parents feed and clothe you... Oleg Bach Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 We have a system where people try to make something out of nothing and call it work...this led to the financial crisis in the western world - for instance those in the money trade who sell "product" or "services" - are really not working they are just conning the public...and they should be the last to put themselves on some higher level than a garbage man or farmer or carpenter or cleaner - people who are actually creating physical wealth. Some bureaucratic parasite sitting in some tower giggling figures has no right to look down on the poor and say - they are lazy - what does this big shot actually do......fake working...or redefine it. Yes. For the rich, faking hard work is the modern way to force the poor to do the dirty work out of a guilty feeling. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Yah _ I know a guy - kind of a friend who was just involved in putting together a 4 billion dollar merger..I asked him - give me an office and allow me to learn the buisness...he did not like that idea...He suggested that I go over to the CBC because they were staffed by woman and gay men - that I could do well over there...I did not want to waste my time in some silly crown corporation - I guess he did not want me around to observe and learn and figure out that they really did not work... Muddy Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Oleg ,I notice you ignored my post. You have cast me as a minimum wage exploiter without knowing me or my business. I pay top wages to top talented people who in turn make my business sound. In this so called recession ,they will not be laid off or fired. Why is that? Because I am respected in my community and have a solid customer base that I created. I did this without a grade school education. So I have little sympathy for those who want what I have achieved without working for it. Mean while I await your apology for casting aspersions on my character. Quote

Perhaps you should understand that I have respect for anyone who puts in the time and effort to build up a skill that makes one very effective...You put in the time - I call it the ten thousand hour rule. If you put in ten thousand hours you get very very good at something and deserve to be rewarded - I without a formal education play music better than most formally trained individuals - I put in thousands of hours painting - I paint well - I worked for it. Again - I send you respect and support..and my apology. Quote

Your very funny! Have you noticed that I have reported that I have not had one person come into my business since this thread started looking for work. So my conclusion is that people that are looking for work are not part of the rush hour gridlock. Quote
