They're recent troubles seem to have much more to do with increased competition from other organized crime groups like the Asian Triads and the Camorra (to name but a few), than anything to do with law enforcement, which as often as not is more a tool for up-and-coming gangsters to get rid of their rivals by sending them to Sing-Sing.
