He just loves Canada. Him and GG make a wonderful pair representing freedom and equality and success for the poor oppressed blacks..funny - GG is not ghetto and Obama is very very white with just the right tone of brown to stimulate foolishness and swell the heart with liberal emotion - leaving all logic and vigliance to fade.

Sure smells like a Trogan horse - and sure looks like a Trogan horse...could he be that? It's not so much that Canadain - American relations are suddenly now warm and cozzy with the Bushites submerged in their bunkers never to be seen again. What I see is someone coming into our nation bearing gifts - a smiling Santa - but the bag is empty - all he brings is wind in a sack contained in charm.

We are all in gleeful rejoycing believing that some how the riches and new found good will of America will trickle up north of the boarder causing a new age of prosperity and "yes we can" hope. Frankly we are so conditioned by the prolonged engagement with our southern big brothers - that we still believe we actually need his help, guidance and protection. Things have changed - Obama needs us more than we will ever need him.

He came to Canada to attempt to export one thing and one thing only from our treasurey - morality and honour. Something that has been sorely lacking in America - and something that they have figured out they need - seeing corruption has peaked and run it's course leaving panic and choas in it's wake. That's the positive side of my observation - that we are now offically their big brother - a reverse has taken place and our successful banking structure based on

Supremecy Though Retraint has made us top dogs of the world in regards to wealth management.

What can be worrisome is the possiblity that Obama has not come to embrace Canada but in American blind arrogance he may in the long run have the agenda ---- of merging - and taking Canada as an aquistion - a neccessary merger to save the empire that is on it's knees and can not get up - This along with the Mexican factor may be the plan....We have to make one decision in these regards - IF we are going to partake in the Pan American Union - what guarentees to we have that the two most corrupt nations on earth --- do not taint and destroy and infect the very thing that has made us the best. Can they change - can they understand what honesty and honour are? Will Obama say when we ask him "Will you promise to be on the up and up?" YES WE CAN....might not be enough.

That's the funny part...Canada seems to be much more worried about such a possibility than the Americans themselves. Gone would be the only economic and geo-political backstop a sovereign Canada has ever known. Waiting to see what the Americans do about [name your favorite crisis] wouldn't matter anymore.

Mexico presents a far more interesting possibility....Canada's population would only be 8% of a unified Norte America.

Many years ago I was taking the Canadian short cut from Detroit to Buffalo. The trip was uneventful except for a curious and unexpected experience at a Tim Hortons along the way. Being arrogant Americans, we only had arrogant Yankee dollars in our pockets, but these we gleefully accepted...even encouraged as payment. We understood the economic reason for doing so, but wondered if mixing dead presidents with the Queen's money violated some level of national spirit.

Economics trumps Virtue.

So hard for you to admit that your wonderful free enterprise system was so damned free for so long that your overly liberal approach to the never ending accumulation of wealth finally reached it's limit. Everything is confined by limits - and a nation or man must know his limitations - You have reached yours and are to damned proud to beg for help. Obama came on his knees..he fully understands the he has just become the CEO of a huge company that is offically bankrupt - How for God's sake can a nation send it self a bailout package? How can I guy that is broke refinance his company when that company has no money. It is simple math - You can print more - what is really happening here is that the tid bit bail out packages being sent out to specific corporate entities is like putting little bandages on a huge wound..You are hemoraging my friend and their is a hole in you that is the whole nation.

Don't give me this stuff that you are in a position of power - you are not - the only power you have left is the usual ----- Military...and if you could we would be your next Iraq...But - that would not look good so you sent in the smiling tap dancer...nice try...now if you approached us honestly you would get better and quicker results. All the rhetoricals and all of the smiles in the world are pretty much useless......You assume because we are few and small that we are irrelevant - It's about quality...we have people of high quality and per capita...we have more and our numbers are greater...and you need them - call it not the brain drain but the brain transplant.

Gosh, I sure hope so, because look what happened last time....the US emerged as a bigger and better bad ass!

'Tis better to have been a superpower and lost, than never to have been one at all. You live in a failed empire...not so bad..is it?

If you say so...but I am always leary of anybody who says I need "them".

Tis better to have been a super power and lost then never to have been a super power at all...you never cease to be clever. When you re-emerged as a bad ass after the bout of depression during the 30s you were a different and resiliant breed back then...and luckily the robber barrons drank themselves to death and set the nation back on it feet by simply dieing and getting out of the way --- now you have that insidious medical break though called life extension - mostly reserved to keep evil people alive to harrass the good ones.. I say get rid of all the pace makers - stem cell suckers - and give the rich guys the cheaper form of stroke inducing dyalisis..

That's not the case at all. The market was anything but free. Government pressuring banks to loan money to people who wouldn't otherwise qualify resembles anything but a free market.

Look we are useful to each other - You are correct --- so who was government? That's the question - was it governance or was it completition to be the supreme? I would suspect that those in "government" were assisting friends running banks by giving certain favours to one and not the other. Evidently the favour back fired.

No the banks loaned the money then started playing hott potato with loans they knew were going to be bad. When the music stopped they all realized they bought someone else hott potato when they got ride of their own. This was due to predatory lending. You think the banks hired people to go out and find people to lend too becuase they didn't want to do it and the government was forcing them too? You think the banks said "why get a 100 000 dollar loan and a small house when interest rates are so low and you can get a 300 000 dollar loan" because the government forced them too? Seems like crazy logic to me.

This was due to de-regulation and the assumption that while you knew the loans you were selling were iffy the ones you were buying seemed great. Too bad they all sucked. Problem created by the de-regulation of the sector and the need to make a quick buck. Ask yourself did the government of Iceland force their banks to make loans too? No but they all failed at the same time in the same way. They were de-regulated the same way. Welcome to the free hand of the market Shady.

Predatory lending of very hot potatoes pretty much sums up what happened...ooooh that's hot! You have it!...someone send some cool bailout sour cream NOW!
