Gov. Sarah Palin must pay back taxes on nearly $18,000 in expenses she charged the state for living in her home outside Anchorage instead of at the state capital, officials said Wednesday.

A review of state policy and Internal Revenue Service tax laws determined the per diem payments should be treated as income, Department of Administration Commissioner Annette Kreitzer said.

Where are our Republican supporters now when it comes to this Tax outrage?

They are apologizing for it in another thread.

So I see. The only reason anyone has focused on Palin's tax issue is because she ran for President. Sort of like that string of Democrats who had the focus put on them when they were up for appointments.

Nobody's apologizing for anything. I was just stating facts. I know facts can be stubborn things sometimes.

Punked on Tim Geithner:

It is legal to defer and becuase he didn't know he had to pay those taxes form 9 years ago until last year I think one can forgive him. He not only paid them but the interest too giving the government more money. All legal and on the up and up.
Nothing wrong with that I don't see why Republicans are making a big deal about it. It happens to a lot of Americans.
Who cares about this?
The guy made some mistakes a lot of people do.
No Americans care about this you know why becuase it isn't a big deal. No one cares accept extreme partisans. He paid half of it when it brought to his attention and he paid the other half last week.

You are right I post what Palin has charged the people of Alaska her per diem spending on, and Shady comes back with a completely different tax issue. IF she pays her back taxes she didn't pay before or not does not change the fact Palin charged the people of Alaska 60 dollars to talk to a person who lost their Senate race. You are right egg all over my face.

Right wing keep it up someday people might believe your half truths.

So she didn't even pay taxes on the money she scammed, and her excuse was she didn't know she was supposed to pay taxes on it? Since when is that a legitimate excuse when it comes to paying taxes?

I'm glad I'm not so stupid as to feel it's necessary to defend someone when they screw up just because they share my ideology.

Geez, even when I describe things slowly, you people still don't get it. She wasn't asked to pay taxes on her per diem. By definition, a per diem isn't counted as taxable income. They reviewed the per diem portion related to her time spent in Wasilla only. It was deemed to now be taxable, in which she's paying. I'll ask this again, why are you people being so obtuse? Is it deliberate?

On a seperate note:

Obama victory bash owes city $1.74 mil

PARTY IN THE PARK | Waiting for Dems to pay up

Chicago has yet to recoup the $1.74 million cost of President Obama's victory celebration in Grant Park -- despite a burgeoning $50.5 million budget shortfall that threatens more layoffs and union concessions.

"The Democratic National Committee has not yet paid us,'' Peter Scales, a spokesman for the city's Office of Budget and Management, said Thursday after questions from the Chicago Sun-Times. "We're reaching out to them this week."

Now this case is completely different. Obama and his cronies have known about this bill for quite some time. I'd say, 4 months or so. Here's an idea. How about they pay their nearly $2 million dollar party bill before they chastize other people for throwing lavish parties and getaways?

This is the problem with faith-based politics! Republicans are lining up again to voice their support for Sarah once again, and it doesn't matter what stupid things she says or does, they will have some excuse for her.............at least until she falls off the political landscape, and is no longer seen as a viable Republican candidate for 2012.
