Alta4ever Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 What an utter, useless, wasteful horrible waste of time, and money. Just another place for self important politicans to hear themselves talk. Quote "What about the legitimacy of the democratic process, yeah, what about it?" Jack Layton and his coup against the people of Canada “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’” President Ronald Reagan
Michael Hardner Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Actually, it doesn't have to be wasteful. Given that such a governing body would take power away from other levels of government, it's an opportunity to downsize those other levels, and to start fresh with this new body. One of the best ways to fix a bureaucratic mess is to walk away from it and let it die. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner

Oleg Bach Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 So more polticians to fix a mess that just sounds like more government, what a waste. One good leader should be able to do what 500 bureacrats do ---- instantly...There is a lack of leadership world wide because of our economic structure and system - the best have been driven to the bottom and the wanna be important people who are corporately mediocre...Those with abiltity are not encouraged to particpate. Also the educational system is not about enlightenment - It's about being programmed and conditioned to fit the status quo...and the real free thinkers are wandering about or hunkered down and waiting for the fools to disipate...more government causes more problems and confusion --- Harper barely holds his own - what keeps him on top is his toughness. He's all we have that will not be swayed. Not the best but better than nothing - compared to selfish idealogs like Layton - and career parotting acedemics like Ignatieff...Harper is a one man show.. As I said, Alta, it doesn't have to be more. There's no reason why we can't downsize government from one area as long as we're adding it to another.
