Oleg Bach Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Ran across the CIIA recently and not being a learned person was hoping that some one at Mapleleaf could give me a run down on these folks. I never knew we had our very own CIA - Just hope they are good at gathering intelligence and have some of their own. It appears to be a group of mostly Anglo Saxons with perhaps an exclusionary policy for those not of the lineage or clan Quote
OddSox Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Google tells me that they got tired of the CIA jokes and have changed their name - http://www.igloo.org/ciia Other than that, I don't know much about them - although their 'supporters' listing reads like the Who's Who of Canadian Big Business. I already knew that. Just testing you. These supporters could better be described as policy makers. That takes me to the next point. If big buisness has some say over the implementation of policy abroad and domestically. Why do our members here not attempt to close the gap between buisness and the lay advisory that I notice here in abundance. People with money, power and influence are not above having YOU participate. Dealing strickly with politicals and giving creative electronic advice may be futile. You brightest and more informed members may do well skipping the middle man. Even our American members should start communication with our buisness leaders....no not the usual ones but those that are the old masters. At present there seems to be a lack of reality and wisdom on both sides of the boarder. That was my point. SKIP the middle man and get things done - YOU have the credentials and are aware of the protocol - I am RUSTIC.. Quote
Sir Bandelot Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I am RUSTIC.. You are drunk But actually you are right... Quote
Oleg Bach Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 Not drunk yet my friend.. would be nice to share a glass with you - the dogs don't drink.. Quote
eyeball Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 The CIC presents the Canadian corporate, academic, media and policy communities with the opportunity to participate in an important forum on international issues. The rest of us can just go piss up a rope I guess. Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
Oleg Bach Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 The rest of us can just go piss up a rope I guess. No. approach them. They will not reject you. May as well participate. The more the merrier the better. Canada is a great nation. The world looks up to us STILL...go for it! Quote
Oleg Bach Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 Get involved - look at our dear and most interesting friend, Bush Cheney. He would not be here if it was not for our potential love and kindness and intelligence. He's a hungry guest..............serve him some supper! America is much like my older brother - rich - informed..................but his son has just committed suicide...we all make mistakes. Quote
M.Dancer Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 The rest of us can just go piss up a rope I guess. Well I imagine you are much more skillfull in that than in international relations....so go at it. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
