In the interim, expect thinly disguised platitudes along the lines of, "sorry, the cupboard is bare, all possible resources have been expended on banks, car companies etc. This govt. remains committed to it's long planned priority of $40 billion in additional corporate tax cuts and this revenue shortfall will have to be made up elesewhere in the budget, such as reducing entitlements for pensioners and working Canadians." If nothing else the current financial calamity will make it quite clear where Harper's priorities lie. Quote When the people have no tyrant, their public opinion becomes one. ...... Lord Lytton

Yes lets punish the people who are responsible for providing jobs which has resulted in our strong economy. Typical leftist idea, punish people for succeeding. Typical leftist idea, punish people for succeeding. Since when is not granting someone/something a tax break punishing them? Tax punishment is increasing taxes on those least able to afford them - exactly what Harper and his neo-cons did in 2006 against the lowest wage earners in Canada. Typical Harper supporter, lots of empty bluster and precious little fact. Quote When the people have no tyrant, their public opinion becomes one. ...... Lord Lytton

The Canadian bankers will never let you know how much they have accumulated - and that hording in a strange way is providing stablity. As my mother used to say"never let them know you are broke or they will persecute you and never let them know that you are rich or they will also persecute you..just can't win. Quote

Tax punishment is increasing taxes on those least able to afford them - exactly what Harper and his neo-cons did in 2006 against the lowest wage earners in Canada.Typical Harper supporter, lots of empty bluster and precious little fact. It is punishing them in that they contribute jobs and tax dollars to the economy. By not offering a tax break when other areas of the world have better rates, you are in fact punishing them. Tax punishment happens to people of all classes. Having high taxes whether your rich or poor is tax punishment. Cry me a river about your wage earners, businesses contribute far more to the country than wage earners. All wage earners are good for is cheap labour and votes. Here's a fact, taxing the hell out of our business's adds costs. Have too many costs and that leads to outsourcing, which means the wage earners are even worse off.
