Read the question, vote and discuss.

I have always been disillusioned when I look into facts and opinions pertaining to the identity of Canada.

Do you believe that we need to take significant measures concerning our Canadian identity? Do you think that a mandatory renunciation of foreign titles would help this cause? If no, what do you think we should do

2001, Black renounced his citizenship of Canada, which he called "an oppressive little world". Eric Reguly wrote in The Times, "The great man fled his native Canada for Britain. He couldn’t wait to leave, he said, because Canada was turning into a Third World dump run by raving socialists."[21] Black's lawyer, Eddie Greenspan, later stated Black's citizenship: "was stolen from him" by "spiteful" former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien.[22]

Black was created a life peer as Baron Black of Crossharbour, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Baron Black sat as a member of the British Conservative Party until July 13, 2007, when he was denied the whip (effectively, expulsion from the Conservative benches) because of his conviction.

In September 2006, The Globe and Mail reported Black was taking steps to regain Canadian citizenship

I don't think we should force our citizens to renounce their foreign citizenship when they come to Canada. We're supposed to be a welcoming nation and the I don't want us to emulate USA's citizenship policy.

However, if someone is living in another nation for extended periods of time(6 months or more) they should have their Canadian citizenship temporarily suspended until they return to live here. This way we can be sure that anybody enjoying Canadian rights at the very least is usually paying taxes and playing by our rules. 8P

I don't want a repeat of the Lebanon incident were we are expected to save thousands of people with a Canadian passport of conveniance.

Why isn't that welcoming, no one said that they weren't welcome.

Citizenship is not suspended, but access to some services are. Under the Health Act the rules are explicit.
