Face it socialism sucks.

Some things in Alberta are socialist. I just pointed it out. Many things are also regulated capitalism (there is no true capitalism, it would be a disaster). The trick is balancing them. It doesn't really do anything to say one suck and one is awesome when in reality they both suck on their own.

Does Alberta have sky high taxes? Is the oil industry nationalized? Are there private businesses?

Norway has very high tax rates. Norway nationalized it's oil industry. They seem to be doing fine.
