jdobbin Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) I posted a thread on the new cabinet. I don't see it now. Was there something wrong with it? Edit: I see it has moved to the gender thread. I'm not sure why. The conversation was moving past the initial discussion on gender and onto the overall numbers and composition of the cabinet. jdobbin Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) Did you put yourself on your ignore list? Cute. I see the cabinet thread is on the gender thread now. I suppose if I want to discuss Lawrence Cannon being moved to Foreign Affairs or the proliferation of cabinet positions, I will have to post under the gender thread. I'm not sure why. The conversation was moving past the initial discussion on gender and onto the overall numbers and composition of the cabinet. I wondered what had happened to that thread. I had to actually check my own posts to find out where it had gone. Why on earth was this thread merged into a dead thread (last post in august) about women hating Harper? Charles Anthony Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Was there something wrong with it? It could have been improved by making the Opening Post more focused. Edit: I see it has moved to the gender thread. I'm not sure why. The presence of women was the only thing that you added to the discussion and a previous active thread was discussing that already. There was nothing objectively wrong with your Opening Post other than it could have been a lot better. I am confident that you are able to do better and so I recommend that you take this opportunity to focus on putting more effort into your new threads. I was still digesting what some of the new ministries were at that the time and only noted the initial improvements I saw in composition in my opening post. The conversation was moving to the overall size of the cabinet when the thread was moved. I'll try to cover more territory in the opening thread. I just thought I had a bit more time to cover other areas of the cabinet moves. Quote

His opening post was about the new federal cabinet. True, he mentioned the addition of women, as did all the news reports, but going over the posts up to the last posts I made to it before it was nuked and moved into the "women hate harper" topic the focus was on the cabinet and government, not on women and their affections for Harper. Now we have a "women hate harper" topic where none of the posts have anything to do with the topic header. M.Dancer Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 There was nothing objectively wrong with your Opening Post other than it could have been a lot better. What you mean to say is that there isn nothing subjectively wrong other than it could have been better. I mean, objectively there is nothing worng with your statement, other than being an opinion and therefore, not objective.
