BC_chick Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 If this were a simple case of signs getting vandalized, than yeah - it would be in the realm of possibility for it to be a frame-job. But somehow I doubt it is a frame job - considering the brake wire cutting on the cars of people, including the car of the Liberal MP's campaign manager, who didn't figure out his brakes were out until he started driving. As ruthless as any political party is, I highly doubt any one would put their own people's lives at risk to frame another party - OTHER political party's people though? Looks like it's fair game. I agree 100%. And though it's true we don't know which kool-aid the twerps were drinking, I've never seen hate toward the LPC from anyone but their direct competition. CrazeeEddie Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 People in glass houses shouldn't be casting stones. The Liberals are just as guilty. Is this the Conservative reply to everything? So basically, what I'm getting from these debates is that Harper and the Conservatives are the exact same as the Liberals? Quote Nobody actually wants equality. It's just a word thrown around to achieve one's own superiority.
Slim MacSquinty Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 There never used to be that much difference between the Conservatives and the Liberals, when Chretien took over after Mulroney he used Michael Wilsons finance plan to get out of debt, he has acknowldged it. They stuck with fee trade and the gst (in fact expanded it). So in the not so distant past there were plenty of similarities. Dion represents a big shift to the left, so I would say there is a lot more similarity between the Liberals and the NDP today. A decade ago a Liberal would not have considered voting NDP as a strategy, they were too far left. Quote

I agree that I doubt the Liberals would do this to themselves...but to be fair, both the NDP and Conservatives are competing with the Liberals. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable. - Jeffrey Sachs (from his book "The End of Poverty")

Has anyone heard about any developments in the investigation into these crimes, or do the police only investigate Liberals during elections? To invest time and money in an investigation would actually mean that they truely believe in democracy and what to protect the right to free unobstructed speech ---- apparently they really don't care about these values if they did there would be evidence of good will towards freedom ----- Politicals are like prisoners who on release promise to phone his cell mates mother to make sure she's okay - Once out side the gate - the past and the promise is forgotten - Exaclty like the politican --- Once he is IN the gate - and in power or dis-power - the past is forgotten as is the promise to do a good turn...It's the selfish part of our nature. Progressive Tory Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) It's been more than 4 months now since the election campaign ended. Has anyone heard about any developments in the investigation into these crimes, or do the police only investigate Liberals during elections? I haven't heard of any arrests or even investigations. One resident here had a Liberal sign on their lawn and someone painted graffiti on the side of his house. In another twist, our local CP candidate started putting up signs in residential areas; carefully placing them on the side of the road that was not considered private property. These were not in high traffic areas, most local traffic only. The message was clearly to make people believe that all these people requested his signs. Citizens were so upset they pulled them all up and delivered them to his office. He could have fought to have them put back but the negative publicity would not have helped. He lost anyway. Oleg Bach Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 LOL. Good. Serves him right. No thoughtful conservative is going to destroy private property by painting funny words on the side of your house. Vandals do not belong to any particular party. And it does not serve anyone right when a crimminal damages what you work for and what belongs to you. Now when you are totally confident and sure that some one has embraced Nazism....and has a sign on their lawn cleverly disguised as some legitimate party but it is really the Nazi party - Then get out the power sprayer and do his whole house black....and be prepared to do the time... Oleg Bach Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I'm not advocating damaging anything. But I will laugh at the funny words painted on the Liberal guys house. I do admit scrawling a swasdeeeka...on a sign posted at the enterance of my old private neighbourhood...The local Scillian wanna be native chief...he was nuts - bought up a lot of property and was attempting to rule the little lake and all the community . He was an environmental Nazi - a fake spiritualist - had a gang of trolls follow him about - and would seduce your wife when you were not looking - so a midnight raid was in order and up went the funny Nazi cross..over top of his "private club sign" From what I understand he was finally diagnosed as being crazy - he's in an institution from the last I heard - he had to be run out of town...so sometimes you have to do what you have to do when survival of the community and your family are at stake.... speaking of steak....I'm getting hungry..
