Bc Latest Opinion Poll - Ndp Tied With Libs

Recommended Posts

Liberals Need to Get Back on Track

Without a doubt the liberals need to rid themselves of Gordon Campbell, the guy lacks the charisma and intensity to lead the party. But lets hope that we do not have to face the possibility of another NDP govt. A poorly lead liberal govt. is better than a well run NDP govt, anyday of the week.

The B.C. Liberals have nothing to worry about. They have about 15 months before the next election.

The balanced budget should win them back some points...

...this poll was taken before the release of the budget.

Considering Carol James is the leader of the NDP, I can sleep fairly well knowing that the NDP will not be in power for at least 5 years. :)

I am glad the NDP isn't in power in B.C

Look at their record in the past! I will vote lib, I think they are the only ones who will get us back on track. We have to stop this madnest of unions thinking they can have anything they want . The rest of us can not afford to pay their high wages. The money should go to taking care of the sick.

Back on track..

hmm

36,000 jobs lost last month

7.9% unemployment rate

$40 billion dollar debt...

Schools, hospitals, womens shelters closed, tuition increased by up to 200%, minimum wage lowered by $2/h for youth, shady deals that have RCMP investigating liberal insiders....

BC is not back on track...BC is derailed, and Campbell is at the switch.

Campbell doesn't deserve to be premier....he deserves to be in jail.

I think we live in Canada we are inoccent till proven guilty!

That includes the Primier of this province!

I would not want a red headed bimo bo or James as a leader if I was NDP.

If the NDP gets back in our taxes will be to high for us seniors to pay! Where do you think the money will come from it doesn't grow on trees.

We owe enough already!

36,000 jobs lost because the people choose not to cut back on their wages. The unions are greedy .

They could not even cut back so they could all keep their jobs. The wages were way to high.

What about the people who get sick ?

It should go more to caring for the sick?

The free ride is over in this Province there are more non - union people than unionists.

Good for Campbell he has the guts to say no!

it is always so disconcerting to see such pre-programmed talk feeding on the jealousy of unionized labor. the fact is that unionized wages help pressure non-unionized wages to be higher! yes, the middle class (those making a minimum of $65k per year) has made north america what it is today! and unionized hospital employees who are about to be cut are only making half of whats required to be considered middle class.

socialism is a very easy concept... its the idea that all people of a country get to participate to some degree in the wealth of a nation. conservatism is the idea that that wealth should be concentrated in the hands of a few.

as an IT contractor for the bc government what i see the liberals doing is truly horrifying. we are loosing our health care system. the education system is being handed over to private universities from the united states without even a discussion. we lost our money making public electrical utilities. we sold bc rail to americans. most government is being moved to private "authorities" in order to avoid freedom of information acts. 3 billion dollars of tax relief was given mostly to the top five percent of the population. the government has raised msp premiums (a regressive form of taxation) and is looking for more "user fees". a sixty year contract to a private firm to run bc ferries with guaranteed revenues (where was i when they handed this sweet deal out)! and they are doing this with unbelievable haste!

and we will never, ever get out of some of these deals... its gone forever!

what happened to campbells promise that a referendum would precede any major decision the government made!

and what screw ups did the ndp have? fast ferries?!

recently i saw an interview with a professor of media in the united states. they ran some focus groups that asked californians about political policies without telling them what political entity supported which policy. they found that people consistently selected policies supported by democrats. and when asked who they voted for... republican!

Ok genius, the 36,000 workers that lost their jobs in the last month were from the retail and construction sector.

Retail is famously non-union, and construction is sort of the bell-weather of the economy...when there is a boom in construction jobs, then good times are on their way. And as is the case with many sectors that were hardline union, construction is not much of a union sector anymore.

The loss of 36,000 jobs in BC last month is a damning indictment of Liberal policies in BC, and marks the failure of Gordon Campbell's "Trickle Down Economics Version 2.0" theory.

I do not agree with everything the Liberals have done. But I absolutely agree with the way the Liberals have finally dealt a huge blow to the power of the unions here in British Columbia. Finally the strangle hold that the unions held over BC during the NDP years, has been scaled back.

And for all those people who expect economic policies to immediately result in the intended benefits, that is not possible, these policies will take a few years at best. Finally we are starting to see them, investment in BC is moving up and also more people are moving back to BC after a few years of net migration loss.

He, the Liberals are not perfect, but a bad liberal government is better than a good NDP government anyday of the week.

If BC elected the NDP again than BC would basically be screwing themselves over. What BC now needs is a conservative government, BC did extremely well under conservative governments, and was a nice place to live. Unfortunately years of left wing nut governments has turned BC into a sewer.
