jdobbin Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories After years of serving as a first wall of defence for U.S. President George Bush, former White House press secretary Scott McClellan has taken a few shots of his own.In his upcoming memoir, McClellan accuses the president of relying on an aggressive "political propaganda campaign" in his efforts to convince Americans that the Iraq war was a worthwhile endeavour. According to early reports of the book's details, McClellan also says the White House, under Bush's leadership, decided "to turn away from candour and honest when those qualities were most needed." McClellan's memoir "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception" is scheduled to hit bookshelves on June 1. But the website Politico released early details Tuesday night, saying it found a copy on sale ahead of the release. McClellan was White House press secretary from 2003 to 2006. The Republicans hit the media today to discredit McClellan. It was actually pretty amusing to hear them say that this isn't the man they knew. Quote

It was actually pretty amusing to hear them say that this isn't the man they knew. No kidding. This is a laff riot. George Bush and his puppet master, Fatso Heart Attack, unmasked. I love it. But for the $100K question, how is Scott McLellan like Julie Couillard? I just love it when the right wing starts to bare its teeth for money. Like sharks smelling blood, , but with video at 6.... GostHacked Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 This was unexpected to say the least. It seems McClellan had a tough time trying to keep a straight face when giving the daily press briefings. And of the former advisors, McClellan is one of the few comming out against Bush and the intel regarding the Iraq war. DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR. If you look at some of the other disgraced former advisors, some of them are back on MSM as political advisors/analysts OP-EDs ect. Rove is on Fauxnews, you can expect Tony Snow to be back in FauxNews sometime soon... or wait, last I heard he is with CNN. But from what the MSM is saying about the book. McClellan is really talking about the advisors Bush had, and that they were the ones who gave the botched intelligence. Never placing direct blame on Bush, but saying they were both duped into the whole mess. To me this seems just so improbable, it is impossible. They knew the intelligence was botched from the start. But one only has to worry about that if it comes to light. Gonna need a few more large hollywood style spotlights. Quote
HisSelf Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Yeah. It's sort of like Couillard isn't it? Personnaly, I know what kind of people Putch and Cheney are, but I also know that once they have been discredited, the spineless discover Viagra. What I realy love about this is that it has the Neocons sucking wind. Edited May 28, 2008 by HisSelf Quote ...
oreodontist Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 'Revealing' Bush's idiotness is like shooting fish in a barrel. Too easy. Bush is an ass...a stupid ass...a stupid incompetent ass. Bush jokes are no longer fun or funny....like watching one more pie thrown by a clown...or listening to stale routines by the Canadian Air Farce. "Me no laugh no more". Bush is like a piece of shit you step on and can't get it off your shoe. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 ....Bush is like a piece of shit you step on and can't get it off your shoe. Since you walk in Canada, that stink would be Pierre Trudeau, eh? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Drea Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 LOL Nope. The Bushstink travels all the way across the earth... we smell it especially harshly as we are right next door. You can't smell it because you like (tolerate?) the smell of your own poo. You know how it is when someone farts? It doesn't affect the farter, but everyone around him. He happily sits in his own stink while everyone else is running for the hills! Quote ...jealous much? Booga Booga! Hee Hee Hee
BubberMiley Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I must admit that McLellan seems like kind of a weasel for silently going along with the shenanigans all those years and only gathering principles when he's got a book deal. Everyone can stand the smell of their own poo. I can even stand the smell of some friend's poo. But sometimes, that stench .... all the Febreeze, Lysol and those little green pine tree car fresheners can't take care of that smell. Since you walk in Canada, that stink would be Pierre Trudeau, eh? Oui, c'est correct. He did stink. No doubt about it. Man, you always try this, and I always agree with you. Why is that? Quote

BubberMiley Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 My favourite part was Bush saying he couldn't remember whether or not he'd done cocaine. I've partaken in my share, but never to the degree I couldn't remember whether or not I did. TOhasCLASS Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) Sad, very, very sad world the US lives in when for pete's sake the sheep just sit and watch soldiers, children and human beings die in Iraq without so much as a peep even though it is common knowledge (for years) that President's office was breaking laws and lying about this "war aginst terror". The US society (NA for that matter) is very sick and is in need of medical attention .. now ! Outrage ..... Let's impeach a president for having a sexual relationship but Apathy from the same society ....... When their kids are sent off to war to die for lies and greed. All I can say is I don't get it ..... Can any one explain this this to me ? Edited May 29, 2008 by TOhasCLASS Quote
stevoh Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 Firstly, this information is nothing new, most of it was either already known, or suspected, so the real shocker is the source. The press secretary claims this was an act of conscience, he claims to have initially believed the information he was being told to present, and became disheartened when Bush privately admitted to him that he had had a part in the scooter libby affair. But, he was also "pushed out" of the white house, whatever that means. And he is making money off of this book. So his motives are in question. Quote Apply liberally to affected area.

Maybe Scott McLellan's book is a CYA, like all of the other former Bush aides who are getting their memoirs out to minimize the damage to their reputations when the grand jury hearings for Rove, Cheney and possibly even Bush himself, start next year.
