The thing is, I have an old photo of your grandpappy saying the same thing about the Irish. If you have a complaint about immigration, you should look to the present federal government for answers. They don't seem to be turning off the taps, and why should they ? Unemployment is at record lows and Canada is turning into an economic wonder - with an excellent business environment as well as a supportive social network. There's no where to go but up. Black Dog Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) Look at it for what it is, a race and culture for the first time is attempting to take over a Canadian hospital. Naming rights are a huge, huge revenue source for facilities these days. No one is gonna turn their noses up at $3 million up front and a $10 million commitment. At the end of the day, donor funding means taxpayers won't have to bear costs over and above the cost of basic care, such as for capital projects. That's good news for the whole system. There's no evidence the naming rights or other cultural amenities will have any impact on the quality of care being offered. Put another way, there's valid concerns about multiculturalism and then there's whatever mikedavid00 is talking about at any given time. Edited November 2, 2007 by Black Dog Quote
