  1. Saves money, electricity and resources. Has more waking hours of sunlight for the average person. Sounds like a plan, can't find any arguments against. Unless the liberals pull out the "It's American, therefore evil" scheme. Which they might, it wouldn't be the first time.
  2. It's a ridiculous idea to punish the sucessful in order to make the lazy more comfortable. And for the majority to change their way of life and values to make a few people happy is a ridiculous idea as well. Democracy is about majority rule. Fit in, or change it yourself, no excuses. If you refuse to be part of our society, don't get angry when we then don't accept you.
  3. Agreed. Isn't very honourable to be a part of something you have no confidence in.
  4. Daily TelegraphThis scheme is obvious, and it is evidence of public policy at its best. There will be technical glitches to overcome. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the political arena. I'm sure that Blair wanted to wait until after the election to announce this because it is so different. ----- A similar policy in Canada would do more to help Canadian cities than any welfare scheme the federal Liberals/NDP can dream up. And the sad part is that we will have such a traffic policy eventually, it's just a question of time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We should all know better. There is no chance they will remove the gas taxes and all that in order to put in this congestion taxes. Just taking more and more of our money isn't the solution to any problem, let alone traffic congestion.
  5. Just as we don't wish to see our society infected with atheistic and immoral legalised drugs, same sex marriages and abortion. These are all views that you, being the non-religious minority, have imposed on the majority.
  6. Nothing will happen. This is just a drop in the bucket compared to the millions the Liberals stole from the taxpayers. It appears that Canadians aren't willing to accept their responsibility to remove this government, and I doubt if this will change anything. In fact, if polls continue on their current trends, the Liberal support will probably go up with this news of corruption and illegal offerings. Canadians, in general, are just too blind to see it.
  7. Question: What is the best way to teach a teenager to become a career criminal? Answer: Put him in jail with adult criminals. There are teenagers that are basically psychopaths that need to be locked up for a long time, however, they are a small minority of the kids that get entangled with the justice system. What the system needs to get better at is recognizing who the 'psychopaths' and divert them from the youth system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That really depends on the situation. I think that murder or any violent assaults should always be tried as adults. I don't think its fair to the victim or the victims family for these violent offenders that have ended others lives so young, to be given a clean slate a year later. If people were forced to take responsibility for their actions, less people would commit crimes, period. Knowing that a murder will only get you 2 years if your under age, why not do it in a gang setting (or in any setting). You have no criminal record when you leave prison (which will be a nice cushy prision anyways), and you have all the status you want in the criminal world. Our weak pentalies encourage crime in our society.
  8. The whole issue here is Canadian's fear having a politican with principles. God forbid anyone that has real moral values becomes PM. And what about these liberal social extremists, they should be considered just as 'scary' as these social conservatives. Hell it doesn't make much sense for those that want to keep things relatively the same to be more scary than those that want to change every social fabric our country has. Ridiculous liberal fear mongering. The big bad evil conservatives are coming. Ya right.
  9. It's so true. The Liberals have created the CPC policy through their misleading accusations of Americanism and social extremism. None of these policies have ever existed. However, the media in Canada will never step up and say that this is simply not true, instead they fill the news with these ideas, and why shouldn't they, the liberal government subsidizes half of them.
  10. And have made us all so much more money personally in the process. Why would we change things when we are the richest people in the country? The Klein government made this province the power it is today, and I think we'd all like to enjoy the kickbacks that our wise electoral decision has given us. I know I wouldn't want to work anywhere else and pay huge amounts of taxes for the same idea. Not a chance.
  11. It is based on commitments made in substitution for an honest adherence to the treaties. It is not based on racial caracteristics, it is like a CAA membership -- those wo have purchased it get service, those didn't don't. Where can I pick up my status card. I'd love to have free education, health care and pay no tax. No its definately an apparthied system based entirely on race, the native group has far more rights than any of us European descendants. And you must be of native blood to get these benifets (pretty racial if you ask me). It's time for us to move on and take away all their priveledges and let them live like the rest of us. No reason for one group to have more power than others.
  12. And lets have the liberal resign immediately that said he'd go higher up the gene pool than the Chinese Inky Mark. Both parties are equally guilty, its not a conservative only thing.
  13. Yes, because capitalism is about efficiency and sometimes the most efficient means of production is on the largest scale. If a small business can do it better, they will capture that share of the market in that industry, but in many (such as cars, ect.) big business simply does it better, faster and cheaper. More swings in our markets based on international troubles and uncertainties. Have smarter consumers that understand how the system works and buy only goods from more responsible and accountable companies. Back to cottage industry? We wouldn't see much of the progress that we see today, and all of our standards of living would be much lower due to less consumer goods. Sure, generate jobs for the working classes, provide massive amounts to charity, and help us all retire by creating secure investment choices.
  14. Quite a guy, this prime minister of ours, eh! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is a good way to get all of us conservatives to vote for him.
  15. Why should the conservative party need a progressive leader? The reason to have opposition parties is too rein each other in. Too much liberalism and the nation collapses, to much conservatism and we never get anywhere. Thats why we have two parties (ya ya the NDP and PQ but serious parties is what I'm talking about) that replace each other when one becomes too extreme. Turning the conservatives into a liberal party just to get elected doesn't solve absolutely anything.
  16. The only reason the NDP have that power is the Conservatives abdicated their responsibility to hold the gov't accountable in order to try and grab the power for themselves. This orgy of spending would have never happened if the CPC had not threatened to defeat the gov't over Gomery. The actions of the CPC over the last few weeks have completely undermined its own moral authority. Regards <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So when the opposition attempts to remove an unjust and corrupt government they aren't working? Sorry but it's impossible to blame the Liberals lack of a backbone and any sound principles on the CPC.
  17. Harper is a great leader. I am curious to know how many of you have actually met him. I have. And I must say I am far more impressed with the great amount of principles this man carries, than any other politican I have spoken with. I would be delighted to see Harper as PM. It is really too bad that Canadians are so liberalised by the media that they have let themselves be coerced into believing he is an American focused cowboy. Couldn't be further from the truth. I feel that the only weakness in his leadership comes from his principled nature not to strike back with equal lies about the liberals. Thats truly the sad state of it all, people love the liberals and they are obviously (and I'd love to see anyone counter this) corrupt and criminal. And then when the Liberals say the conservatives are all 'big business' and 'anti-health care' our nation believes every word, and keeps the corrupt people in power. I'm starting to believe that Canada is just simply to ignorant to be involved in politics in general, and another election of the Liberal party will go to prove that further. Now I must say that another leader would benifet the party in the East, but really, that would be unprincipled of the conservatives to remove a great leader and visionary for Canada from the party in order to gain a few votes. For once in Canada we have a party that isn't merely about political gain, and we reject them as being too idealist or whatnot. It is only the ignorance of Canadians that make Harper anything short of one of the greatest leaders Canada has seen.
  18. It is a sad day when 19 MP's control the nation's finances because Martin needs them to prop up this morally unfit authority. 19 MP's, less than 2 Million Canadians represented by these people, and they control the other 28 million's money. It is truly a sad time for Canadian democracy. Buying power and time will bite the Liberals in the end, after Gomery we will see the demise of the Liberals.
  19. I've yet to see any charter abuses by Harper. If we want to get into comparisions, you picked the wrong topic. The Liberals saying Inky Mark wasn't high enough in the gene pool for an ambassadorship. Martin ignoring the majority of the house in voting that they have no confidence in his leadership (and the majority did say so, I don't care if you can pull out a technicallity, the majority of Canadians said no more) until they bribed Belinda with a cabinet post.
  20. What other social programs do you want? More HRDC? More Gun registries? More Sponsorship? We already have enough in Canada as is, lets not have more interference in our lives. Oil and gas make up a huge portion of Alberta's revenue, and I see this as a direct attack on Alberta specifically. Lets rob the rich to feed the unmotivated and poorly managed. Other provinces have resources too, and yet just don't market and develop them to the massive extent Alberta (and Ontario) do. So while we are at it, lets nationalise crab fisheries, forestry, shipping, Quebec power generation, all agriculture, ect. ect.. Oil and gas belongs no more in the pockets of the government than any other industry. Governments can't run businesses, they are too cumbersome and racked with inefficencies. You want jobs created without a debt, lower taxes and interference, not increase both. Healthcare and education are available to everyone. There are some of us that actually have the capacity to work and pay for our university while going, and those that are too lazy to do so, obviously aren't worthy of such an education. I know scores of people that work their *** off to pay for school, and others that sit down and whine that it costs too much. Guess who the more sucessful people are? Major corporations are a huge employer and source of foreign investment in Canada. Without foreign capital our economy cannot function. Basic economic theory. Why? If the workers don't like the conditions, go elsewhere. They are all protected by minimum standards under law. Seriously, its supply and demand, you don't like your job you move on somewhere else. Or improve your skills or education, you don't form more unions that actually DECREASE employed through higher wages and decreased profitability. Companies can only afford to pay so many people at inflated wages. More people to run the gun registry. No I don't buy that argument. I don't see why my hard earned money should go to someone that can't find or create work on their own. I have, so can they. Enough of my money does already. Lets not make it more. What about scientists? And all those workers that you were fighting for earlier. For someone that wants to destroy an eliteist society, you sure are creating one. No GST on them already, been there done that. Why should I pay more for the same services? Unfair in my opinion. I already support more than my share. Nothing wrong with that idea. Why should the government take the hard earned money from families. Destroying the upper class? Campaigns against those that lead are rarely sucessful and are always spawned out of jealousy. And more tax-credits for moms and dads that decide to stay home and raise their children too. And when we fall short? Start advertising open borders? It's ok as long as we are only bringing in educated people with fluency in English or French. No free loaders or future welfare receipiants please. Why why why? Those that are sucessful and employ our workers and drive our economy! LETS PUNISH THEM!.... won't fly with me. Eliminate NAFTA? I don't know about you, but I like the idea of being able to buy my products at great prices and export throughout North America without tariffs. Sure, I can agree with this. As long as unions, labour groups, lobby groups and every other group is banned too. Your party and the NDP would be bankrupt in a hurry. I think it would be hard to find anyone to argue with that. It should go to NGO's though, not some blank cheque to the UN.
  21. Good call, Martin is has destroyed any and all credability through his quick dismissal of any principles he seemed to have had. On the original topic, we must remember that Cadman did run for the conservative nomination and lost, and therefore after winning a seat, there is nothing unusual or suspect for the tories to offer a spot after proving himself a better candidate in that riding.
  22. The system would work much better if people all voted for their personal interests, thats the way majority democracy is supposed to work. However people more than often vote for the party they want in power, which is the cause of many of our problems.
  23. I don't see how a motion declared a confidence motion by the majority in the house can be questioned. What ever happened to democracy. The majority of Canadian's, through their representatives have now asked the government to resign, and they are refusing this.
  24. well, um, not discriminating against people based on stuff they're born with such as, oh I don't know, sexual orientation ummmmmm allowing women to choose what to do with their own bodies, you know. Minor stuff. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Homosexuals have all the rights a heterosexual does. Civil union's give them all the tax breaks and whatever they want, they can't possibly believe in marriage anyways so I don't see why they need to steal the word. And lets give the children a chance, its not just their body, its a life. This thread isn't about same sex marriage or abortion though, both arguments with convincing arguments from both parties. This is about bigotry. And the Liberals have continued with attacks such as that on Inky Mark which shows while they might not take a stand on moral issues, they will go ahead and insult ethnic groups continulessely. Letting strippers jump the queue for immigration is a slap in the face to every immigrant that has strugged for enterance and citizenship in Canada, those that truly deserve it. And lets not forget the Liberals stood for traditional marriage not more than 5 years ago. Swaying in the political winds is not moral direction and authority.
  25. It's rediculous to call the conservatives bigots, we have heard more racism out of the liberal party as of late. From the beloved liberal CBC News: In regards to the comments directed at Inky Mark.
