I'm in the minority when I say this but I think Trump's decision to talk to Taiwan was an extremely good idea. Imagine talking to people? It would be like Trudeau or Obama talking to Castro! Except unlike Castro, Taiwan isn't run by an authoritarian regime.

Obama has given the internet to the UN. It no longer is controlled by a country with the first amendment. This is extremely concerning. Unfortunately, Trump being an idiot buffoon has taken away basically all media attention from this important issue.

Oh wonderful from your article: 'government representatives', 'public interest organizations' will 'advise' on what to do. They will vote and 'governments will have more authority in ICANN than they do currently'. You don't think that they will use their influence to try to get things banned that they disagree with?

Our sexist prime minister is in Liberia proclaiming how terrible female genital mutilation without consent is. Meanwhile this sexist hypocrite is completely fine with male genital mutilation without consent. Ban all forms of genital mutilation until the age of consent. If that offends a bunch of religious nutcases and their belief in deluded fairy tales, then so be it.
