  1. Nothing to do with my opinion or that of lawyers. He is an adult in every jurisdiction in Canada. Except yours I guess.
  2. How long before his brownshirted lackeys kick down your door and take you to the camps? Did you get the notice that was bundled with local garbage pickup schedule?
  3. If you are at a NHL game and wonder why play has stopped or when it will begin, watch the penalty bench area. Whenever there is a TV timeout, a bare red light bulb in on there. The linesman will get the faceoff set up, as soon as that bulb goes off he drops the puck and play resumes.
  4. Comrade, I hope you have done your civic duty and forwarded names and IP addresses to the authorities so they may deal with these traitors of the state. They do not deserve the freedom of speech earned for them by hooded protestors.
  5. No, he is actually an adult.I have no problem with his shirt or him wearing the shirt. My answer might be different if it was a teacher.
  6. Couple of things I wonder about with this guy, William Swinimer. First, why is he still in high school at age 19? Second, his father is reported widely to have 'pulled him out of school' since this incident. Since when could a parent decide that for another adult?
  7. I know what to get you for Christmas: a down payment on a sense of humour. Is that a lefty thing or just you personally? Are you one of those Bible literalists too? Or are you just smarting from your last smackdown here?
  8. I think it is because many people do not read for pleasure as children. They have so little exposure to an English vocabulary that simple words are outside their experience.'Spelling' is not a specific subject at any level in Alberta; language arts that includes loads of spelling instruction is a major part of the curriculum from grade on onward. I once fired a subordinate manager because he could not compose a simple, three sentence business letter that anybody could comprehend.
  9. Patently false. It is not about system operation to meet averages, it is about meeting peak demand to supply industry and consumers no matter what. You simply cannot have variable supply like wind or solar as part of the equation to meet peak demand, since their contribution cannot be guaranteed. You also cannot simply ramp up conventional supply generators whenever there is a wobble in supply from wind and sun, it takes days or hours to bring those online and producing reliabl;e power. That is all a sideline to the point : variabe power supplies require that coventional supplies be available.Yeah, you can conserve energy blah blah blah but it does not change the supply equation at all, it changes the amount of supply . Same thing for transmission and distribution networks, you must build to peak demand plus a wee bit more, not averages.
  10. Easy solution: police snipers. No problem picking out people with masks from people without masks when you are looking at them through a rifle scope
  11. Yes. If the wind does not blow or the sun does not shine the supply is curtailed. The need to meet peak demand does not change because the supply declines so yes, you have to overbuild redundant generation capacity. Duh.
  12. Riccardi didn't trade Rios, he put him on waivers and got nothing in return. Not a bad deal, since Rios was basically worth nothing and for some bizarre reason the White Sox had a spare $60 million they wanted to waste on him.Riccardi also did not trade Wells, Anthopoulos did that deal, a miraculous burn of the Angels. He got mutts back, but in the meantime he dumped $86 million in salary for a guy who cannot hit.
  13. Agree with all that except getting their closer back. They've done better without him,
  14. really, there is no point discussing any power source that does not provide a solution focused on electricity supplies that are dead reliable, available 24/7 in quantities that are certain. Our lives are based on all of that, period. If you have for example 10% of your total power consumption requirement originating from sources like wind or solar, without economic storage of that power, all it means is that you have to overbuild the generating capacity by at least 10%. You still need 100% build redundancy on the unreliable source.
  15. Didn't Riccardi have the mandate to whack $50 million from the team budget? Cannot expect much with that.... I agree that Alex Alphabet has done well with the money he been given. His trade of Wells was nothing short of miraculous. But I don't care about any of that, I want the team to win something now and I don't really give a shit about another decade of excusesor mediocrity.
  16. I'm a big supporter of immigration, but I do not agree with 'fast tracking' any physicians. I would prefer it if they were at least as qualified as locally trained doctors and can prove it.
  17. No I'm with you on this one. By invoking Hitler, Harper is worse than him that is how these things work.
  18. That is correct, those camps will soon surface under the name Son of Katimivik. Can we just all agree that Harper is worse than Hitler?
  19. so what? They come pretrained at somebodys elses expense, pay their own way to get here, and contribute immediately and longterm to our economy, and are the opposite of a burden. Don't you wish you could say the same for Canadian born workers?
  20. Yeah, been hearing that for at least a decade, repeated constantly by Jays PR flacks and Toronto media who are used to writing about the Leafs. They aren't going anywhere except 4th or 5th in their division until they spend some money and buy some pitching. They also need to get a left handed bat, Adam Lind is not the answer to any questions that matter. But they can't afford it, or more accurately choose not to spend
  21. Wrigley is far more interesting place to watch a game than US Cellular on any level, leaving baseball aside. The people watching alone is worth the price of admission at Wrigley. I don't root for either team so don't really care who wins when I'm at either park, but the atmosphere at Wrigely and in the whole neighbourhood makes the Sox venue resemble a morgue. Whats with the invented strawman about the Rogers Centre, another soulless shitty place to watch anything?
  22. The Cubs have sold out forever, they party hard there, great place to watch the Cubbies lose. The White Sox have a good stadium? When did that happen? The times I've been, it was an empty souless cavern.
  23. Sorry to introduce some facts to your xenophobia, but So, 67% of those who entered are skilled and experienced and trained workers. The 22% percent of family class immigrants would all be personally guaranteed that they will be fully finan cially supported by employed family members for at least five years after they arrive.I guess you're right about the remaining 11%, we should let them die because we can.
