The President Who Hates His Country
CANADIEN replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And I believe you're wrong. Like seeing beyond a narrow vision of a country's national interest is a wrong thing... By engaging the world, Obama is reversing the policy of the Bush administration with its inilateralism and disregard for the moral foundation of its own country. Being President of the United States means sometimes knowing that doing what's right for the U.S. means doing what's right, period. -

Less we forget that Hull is not in Canada, that equal rights and human rights are communist notions, and that laws democratically voted ny the elected representatives of the people are only democratic if they match your prejudice and ignorance, right leafless. Soo, Trudeau was once young and foolish. He grew up later. I don't expect you ever will. -

Innacurate as it could be. French speaking canadians were not kept off English-language schools. In fact, outside of Quebec, it was quite the contrary. You are of course welcome to serve again the non-sense that refusal to assimilate was and is a form of self-segragation. Was not true the first time you said it, won't be this time either. -

The use of the word segregation in this case would be quite a misnomer, wouldn't it not? -
Last time you tried that one, you could not back the claim up with anything substantial. I don't expect you to do it this time either.

Actually, a 1997 constitutional amendment replaced Newfoundland's faith-based school system with a secular one. In the case of Ontario, the BNA mandates the funding of Roman Catholic schools. The idea of funding for other denomitional schools has been put forward a number of times (and was a factor in the poor results by the Conservatives in the last provincial election), but there is nothing mandating it in the Constitution. Attempts at having the Supreme Court abolish the status of the catholic schools as unconstitutional or extend it to other denominational schools have failed. You are comparing apples and oranges here. We are two different countries, with different histories, and we have come to issues of rights and identities through different routes and have adopted different solutions. The Canadian model of acknowledging minorities and rights, first religious and now linguistic, would not be suited to the U.S. Similarly, the melting pot model would not fit us. Even the issue of whether or not separate schools enhance equality or are an obstacle to it has to be viewed through the light of each countries' history. The segregation of Black schools, in the U.S. and here (little jnown fact: the last segregated school in Ontario closed in the mid-1960's) was a tool in keeping African-Americans in an inferior social and economic situation, and desagragation was a tool to reverse that. The notion of a right to a state funded religious education, where it took hold in Canada (mainly Quebec, Ontario, Newfoundland) was aimed at protecting religious minorities against an hostile majority. Tell me what the country is, and I'll give you the answer. In Canada, for historical reasons, parents should be free to choose between English and French (and, depending on the location, Fiist Nation languages).. In the case of religious schools, the conditions that existed in Ontario in 1867 (a public education system essentially Protestant in nature and anti-Catholic) do not exist today. -

It's not that. To lictor, racism is the most noble and most admirable attitude that a man can have... when it's directed as non-whites of course... Therefore, I think he cannot accept the possibility that speople would shortchange themselves and refuse their true calling to be racists too, even if it's reversed racism.. -

Quite frankly, you're crap has gone beyond hilarious to became just boring, so I won't waste my time with it. Now to the next non-sense. The infamous tape that was announced but neever produced... because it does not exists. Admit that, you take that myth as a truth because 1) she looks like a chimp... err I mean she's Black 2) she committed one of the worst crimes possible for a Black person - saying she didn't like being pushed to the margins of society because of her skin colour. -
And prey tell, what should we do? Enlighten us o noble defender of what is not threatened.
-
Of course, nothing justifies the physical assault that took place. Does not change the fact that the white boy decided to insult the other boy because of his origin. And that is ok with you.

And it goes downhill from there. A small class of free mulattoes and Black existed in Haiti before the Revolution. But to say they were equal or quasi equal is to ignore the flurry of laws and customs that barred them from certain professions, lllimited their movments, forbade them from baring arms, etc. And nobody in their right mind would claim that slavery (the lot of the vast majoity of Blacks)was a form of equality. Yje economuc success of pre-revolutionary Haiti had its dark side, a society founded on slavery and racial ineqality. Thaaat, and the destrictions and hatreds borne of the Revolution laid foundations for the misery that had been the lot of Haiti since the late 18th century. Not to say, of course, that the SOCIAL and ECONOMIC failure has not to a large extent been inflicted by the post-independance Haitian society to itself (nice bit of usual dishonesty on your part, trying to pretent I meant the opposite),,, but the destruction of the economic structure started at the Revolution, and the seeds for that had been planted long before. Some with a brain able of logical thinking instead of "one race good, another race genetically bad" delusion would see it. Actually, most of the money went with the planters who left during the Revolution. Not to worry, I still have waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to go to sink even half as low as you.

And everyone knows that I believe in the existence of Santa Claus, that residential schools were man's noblest invention since the wheel, and that white are genetically more intelligent than Blacks. While you, of course, do not believe that whites are superiors, and would never stoop so low in stupidity as to call a Black woman chimp-like just because of her skin colour. Whatever. -

Of course we should forget the part where he said Wright was wrong. And his subsequent well document break-uup with Wright, and leeaving Wright's Church. Keep on ignoring that fact. I have said often enough. Feel free to let me know when you are something new, and I am sure as stupid, to contribute. -

I for one don't believe in violence except in self-defense. so, if you use words such as n***er and someone beats you, that person should be thrown in jail. And you, of course, should be shunner like a low-life imbecile.
-
You should stop talking to yourself looking in the miror like that you know. Complete with a social/leal/economic structure that treat Blacks like barely human beings. Even the mulattoes were a despised underclass. No access to power, no access to money, no access to education, no access to any chance of economic or social imprivement. With harsh punishment for any Black who dared to even learn read or write Such a an abject economic and social system could, alas, only disappear through reform, which never came, or the most violent of revolutions. The seeds of haiti's drama were sown long before independance. (...) saying it has nothing to do with their skin colour. Are you that unable to understand when people MOCK your non-sense? On the contrary. You've lost it. And not just the argument. You've lost it, period.

Less we forget. The volcanic aspect of Iceland's geography, it's position near the Gulf Stream, all the geographic factors that explain why the island has a vast geothermic potential are due to one thing, and one thing only. The Icelanders are white. Remove them and replace them with Blacks, and within two generations the volcanoes will be dormant, the Gulf Streem will move south...

And there is plenty of cases of French-speaking people in Montreal who get jobs with little or no English language skills. You don't want to hear about it. People speak French and another language. French is being threatened. -

In a society where the institutional and cultural references are mostly white, that's a bit redundent, don't you think? And of course, you neglect (likely on purpose) two things here: first, that Black identity in the USA is as much cultural as it is racial; second that minority groups that turn to an identification policy as responding to marginalization, while those who do the same for majority groups are doing so because they want minorities to be even more marginalized I have no attention of doing that. You've proved the expert at that game, for example with this:  He does see past them. Don't be confused just because you see nothing but them and want to make them worse. Thank you for pointing that out. Must be from postings I didn't write. We've already established that Wright is a racist, and that I said so. Nice bit of your usual intellectual dishonesty. The important thing is... what if Bush went around and said. "My pastor is wrong." "We cannot act like if racism and disparities didn't exist, but we must see beyond them". What if he then left that Church. I'd believe him at face value on that one, and I am on record as saying he lied on other things. And that's things that Obama did. Actually, let's not got any further that what some lunatic like Falwell and Robertson said about 9/11, that it happened because "America had turned its back on God". There is no doubt that Bush was in synch with them on many fronts, yet was there any doubt that he didn't believe that cr*p?
