  1. But the Israeli atheist/agnostic demographic birth rate is already rock bottom and still falling while the extremist Judaism birth rate is skyrocketing with average families of over 10 children that grow up to live a life on welfare.
  2. Women are allowed in 88% of all roles in the IDF but for how long? How long before the religious councils of Israel force the government to ban women from the military, workplaces? Already Jewish newspapers are censoring their newspapers, by removing women from pictures, so as to not offend Jewish men with pictures of women with their faces exposed. Jewish groups in Israel are exporting their extreme brand of Judaism around the world, much like how Saudi Arabia exports its extreme brand of Islam. As DogOnPorch pointed out even in NEW YORK Jewish media are following Israeli trends of removing the "unclean" faces of women from their media.
  3. Isn't it their aim though? It's not they can't find jobs its that they don't want to work because its they're belief (supported by their religious leaders) that they shouldn't do anything but study biblical texts. Very similar to how Saudi Arabia pumps out millions of young Arabs with useless Islamic educations. They see themselves as the spiritual side of Israel that should be supported, cradle to the grave, and defended by the state of Israel.
  4. Wow, extremist Judaism has spread to America too. I just assumed it was Israeli as this is a common trend in Israel recently. For example here is Israeli newspaper Yated Neeman erasing female ministers and in a scene right of 1984 replacing them with males as apparently nothing is more offensive than a women with her ... FACE exposed, the horror.
  5. In the now iconic image of Obama looking on as the Osama operation went down it appears that Israeli newspapers have edited out Hilary Clinton, and another women present, so as to not offend the more conservative members of Jewish society. This rewriting of history for religious reasons just shows how far Israel has slipped on a slope that ends with Israel becoming a fundamentalist theocratic state. More and more Israeli's are seeing their rights cracked down upon largely due to harsh Jewish extremist groups and the unique Israeli political system that gives ultra-conservative religious parties King-Maker status and such immense power. One such conservative group are the Orthodox Jews. With their high birth rates, often over 10 children to a family, and high retention rates of its members the percentage of extremist groups seeking to crack down on Israeli freedoms is rising. The retention rate of Children of Orthodox parents is quite high due to the total seclusion of Orthodox Jews from Israeli society. Those few who were able to escape Fundamentalist Judaism to freedom, still have had a tough go at maintaining their new found liberties. According to this BBC report "Rabbi Noson Weisz has only known four or five cases of people leaving in three decades of work." While the birthrates of secular Jews fall every year the explosive growth of Jewish extremists threatens Israel's way of life. Israel’s ultra-Orthodox population refuse to work, and refuse to fight in the army. 60% to 70% of fundamentalist Jews prefer to leach off the state because their rabbis told them to stay at home, study the bible and make babies. In addition to eliminating women from public life, as shown even by editing out pictures of women in newspapers, Jewish religious leaders are slowly restricting how people can dress, act and function in society. Large sections of Israel have area where women are forced to cover-up, men wear beards and other oppressive measures. Due to the high birth-rate of Orthodox Jews these Areas will expand exponentially. Already Jewish groups are seeking to purify their race by preventing mixed marriages. During negotiations with the Palestinians they also seek to expunge all non-Jews from Israel. As those practicing extremist Judaism grows how long do you think it will take before Israel turns into a Jewish theocratic state like say Iran. Where a council of rabbis control what can be published in newspapers, what people can wear, etc?
  6. How is Chernobyl out in the woods? It is around 100km from Kiev a city with a 2001 census was 2,611,300 and Mazyr also about 100km away has over 100,000. There has to be other large cities even closer.
  7. Reporters enter the exclusion zone. Surprised by lack of zombies, friendliness of forgotten dogs. Mental note when entering a nuclear danger zone bring a bunch of dog food.
  8. Israeli think tank talks about the deteriorating situation in Syria: “For today’s Israeli decision-makers, keeping the status quo in Syria with Bashar Assad in power is vastly preferable to getting into a period of political struggle,” he said. “Since 1973 Israel has had a peaceful border with Syria and it’s been able to hold onto the Golan Heights. Why change?” -- Bloomberg
  9. Yet it has survived ... for thousands of years ... on top of this volcano.
  10. You're comparing two atomic bombs to this crisis? Crazy. What about the nuclear tests in America? The radiating of cities next to the Vancouver border? Why aren't you citing these in your "scientific opinions"? Children were affected in Chernobyl because they drank milk from an area which was covered with I-131 from a HUGE explosion from Chernobyl. They've already stopped the collection of milk, not just from the exlcusion zone, but the whole area. So even if that was a threat (It's not because there was never an explosion, to spread nuclear material, like the Chernobyl explosion) it has been negated.
  11. I'm not sure that I should be the one to tell you this but ... America and Japan aren't the same country. American officials aren't the TEPCO or even Japanese environmental officials ... have they even released a statement? PS - Contrails are a joke and there is no Santa Claus ... find your tinfoil hat.
  12. There is an universal level of public disbelief in the west due to the hyperbole reporting of Western Media. Almost everyday there is a headline story about how the Fukushima reactors are blowing up "in hours (Mar 11)", "in 24hrs", "48hrs (Mar 15)". These deadlines pass so the newspapers make up a new deadline or some sort of inflamatory news story about how it's worse than Chernobyl. TEPCO has kept the situation under control when EVERYTHING has gone wrong at the plant. The question isn't why there is a universal level of public disbelief of TEPCO rather why there is universal level of public disbelief of the western media.
  13. The thousands of firefighters who responded to 911 have more to worry about regarding cancerthan the Japanese population.
  14. I agree with your sentiment but the Japanese nuclear reactor crisis isn't the second worst disaster in nuclear history. There have been other, worse nuclear disasters like: -Kyshtym disaster in the Soviet Union is likely the second biggest nuclear accident when a steam explosion released 70–80 tons of highly radioactive material into the environment. -The British Windscale fire is probably the 3rd worst disaster. It released extreme amounts of radionuclides. -The Goiânia accident in Brazil which killed four people and irradiated 245 other people. -There were other real melt downs in Switzerland, and of course the Three Mile Island incident. There was even anuclear incident in Canada, although this one wasn't as bad as Japan. Other things like the accidental destruction of several Soviet and American nuclear subs might be higher up on the scale of nuclear disasters.
  15. Exactly. Gosthacked's faith in his favorite news organizations like FOX NEWS is probably the basis of his fear-mongering. FOX NEWS by the way claimed there was a nuclear reactor in Tokyo ... that turned out to be live music club. We won't even go into his claims that the Japanese nuclear reactor crisis has surpassed Chernobyl or that the crisis level had reached 6 out of the scale of 7, all of which turned out to be false. As for his claims on fallout just who is talking about? The twenty kilometre exclusion zone (Even Chernobyl only has a similar sized zone) saw residents evacuated. Who are these people that are going to get "Radiation sickness and related deaths" does he know of some sort of hippy revival or rave that was held next to the plant? Two reactors are functioning normally. Reactors one to four have been hooked up to power and have their control rooms running. They've switched to fresh water to cool the reactors. Working in hour shifts the workers have been safely working toward hooking up the cooling pumps. Two workers were injured but they've set up a state of the art radiation hospital near the nuclear plant. Any exposure can be quickly treated and long term affects negated. Gosthacked is basically Nancy Grace
  16. Clinton promises no military strikes in Syria ... for now.
  17. Yes but top down/authoritarian governments fall easily because of the small amount of people who support the regime. All it takes is if military or police refuses to obey orders and the entire ruling structure is wiped away.
  18. If by wave a magic wand, you mean invade a country (like they did in Lebanon) to back up elements of surrounding country then yes.
  19. Syria has largely been immune to the uprisings around the Middle East largely because residents of that country still remember the last time they tried to throw off the reins of the Ba'ath Party-controlled government of Syria in February 1982 during the Hama Massacre. During that anti-government uprising thousands of civilians were killed. Estimates of the dead are as high as 40,000 with AI saying about 25,000 were killed. Yet again trouble brews for the harsh government of Syria. As of March 23, protests are increasing throughout Syria and so are the brutal crackdowns. Yet this violence against its own citizens seems to sparking more protests. If the Syrian government falls it will have a huge affect on regional governments. A Muslim brotherhood government could even emerge which might not respect the Detente that Syria holds with Israel. So will the Syrian government fall? As they did with Egypt will Israel try and support the brutal dictatorship of Syria in hopes of keeping the "devil you know" in power?
  20. This morning in Japan, March 23rd, I awoke with some good news. As talked about earlier this week there was a rush to connect the reactors to power but after the successful water spraying operation radiation was reduced to normal levels actions at the plant were scaled back. The low radiation emissions have allowed the nuclear workers to move slowly and carefully, with an eye towards their safety, in connecting power to the reactors. The cooling systems for reactors 5 and 6 have been restarted and are now working normally. Reactors 1 and 2's control centres have been turned on and now the nuclear workers have been checking all the instruments before turning on the cooling systems. This morning's Japanese TV reported that reactor 3's control room has been connected to external power and they are checking the instrumentation before turning on its cooling system. Ironically the reactor that has sparked the most concern was reactor 2 as it hadn't had its roof sheered off like the other reactors making it hard to spray water in. However a new spraying machine, one of those multistory concrete mixers, has been brought in and it can spray specifically targeted areas from above as it is so tall. With 5 & 6 reactors operating normally 1, 2 & 3 almost having their cooling system being brought online nuclear workers can soon focus their efforts on the final 4th reactor today, Wednesday. Now that the crisis is over there is finally being some self evaluation on the hysteria reporting by media outlets. It has no been revealed that some of the hyperbole over the nuclear crisis may be due to a translation error of the foreign media. While the Japanese public has been getting calm reassurances from the nuclear briefings, the same briefings have been translated by foreign media as meaning that a melt down was occurring, which never happened and wasn't the Japanese official's intention. As for the contaminated food concerns the levels are so low that it isn't even an issue but just to be safe all produce from the affected area has been banned from the markets. But even if you insisted on eating the "radiated" food you "would need to eat 41 pounds of that Hitachi spinach to reach the nuclear power plant worker's annual exposure limit." As for the milk, "To reach the radiation dose limit for a power plant worker, you'd need to drink 2,922 eight-ounce glasses of milk. To raise your lifetime cancer risk by 4 percent, you'd have to drain more than 58,000 glasses of milk. That would take you 160 years, if you drank one 8-ounce glass a day." It is also being reported that TEPCO will pay farmers for radiation loss. As for the ocean the key to any solution involving pollution is dilution!
  21. OMG now here is a real Nuke crisis! The foreign media are reporting a nuclear reactor is experiencing trouble IN TOKYO! The plant in Shibuya is located in the center of the nation's capital! Tokyo has 32 million people if this Shibuya plant goes it's going to bad! This is just like Chernobyl. Did everyone one hear? CHERNOBYL! Exactly like CHERNOBYL!
  22. There were small hydrogen explosions (not nuclear explosions) that blew off the external shell of the building at THREE "nuke towers." The damage from the explosion at reactor two has not been evaluated yet. Either way radiation release has been minimal. The amount of radiation found in food also has been minimal. If you ate the food, they are saying has been found with SMALL amounts of radiation, for a year the radiation levels absorbed by your body would add up to CT scan. The food is pulled only as a precaution not because of any threat. The Japanese power crisis is NOTHING like Chernobyl which was an out of control fission reaction that caused a huge explosion exposing the nuclear reactor and creating a huge fire that spread radioactive over an immense area. To say that the Japanese crisis is the same as the Chernobyl crisis is highly irresponsible. Due to the low amount of radiation released from the Japanese plants and the fast evacuation of the surrounding Japanese population there will be NO considerable increase in cancer in the general public. Reactors 5 and 6 have been hooked up to external power and have had their cooling system restarted. There was a rush to hook up the other reactors but after the water spraying operation the radiation being emitted from the reactors fell to normal levels so they have been going slowly with hooking up power to the other reactors. Number one and two reactors have been hooked up to a power supply but they are slowly checking all the components in the reactor to make sure that everything is working before switching on the power. The real heroes are the nuclear workers. One employee has been confirmed to have been exposed to more than 100 millisieverts while on-site.
  23. Yeah it's called the security council and its five veto-wielding permanent members do control the UN. But any action is usually stopped by the diametrically opposed political aims of the five members. It's interesting that Russia and China allowed this to go through.
  24. But that's for an unprotected worker right? How much protection does a radiation protection suit offer?
  25. No one has submitted any evidence that there has been any significant exposure, besides near the plant, in Japan. As of this posting the workers hooking up number two reactor to electricity are being exposed to 10mSv INSIDE the number two reactor building. That's about the exposure you get when you receive a CT scan, which their radiation suits will negate most of. Some alarmists claim this low amount of radiation is the same as Chernobyl but to put it perspective close to the Chernobyl plant days after the out of control nuclear reaction there saw about 10000 mSv.
