Hamas has historically called for setting up a Palestinian State on the territory that is now Israel. WHY would it destroy the very country and land it hopes to run? It makes no sense. Not to mention that even if it hit high Jewish populations with a suitcase nuke (Something it would never get its hands on) the fallout would still affect its population centers in Gaza and West Bank.

Will Israel attack Iran?
Post To The Left replied to Post To The Left's topic in The Rest of the World
Well I'm glad you have full access to Dimona. Maybe you'd like to share your info with the IAEA. You asked if the nuclear weapons were in a bunker, I told you where the last sighting of them was (Hint: In a bunker). I don't know where the silos are but with your top secret access to Israeli military sites I'm sure you could just tell me. It doesn't matter if they decided last night. It is now the third most holy site in Islam and the Islamic world regards it as such and won't attack it anymore than they would attack Mecca. Right, and the nuclear weapons offered to Apartheid South Africa they must be fabrications too. -
Will Israel attack Iran?

Mordechai Vanunu described a secret underground bunker deep underground Israel's nuclear research complex. Not sure what your point is or how it changes the fact that the Islamic world thinks Temple Mount is the third most holiest site in the world. Sure depending on what magical book you believe it may or not be holy but Muslims think it is and they wouldn't destroy it with a nuclear bomb, or make it a radioactive fallout deathtrap. Sure if you discount the successful test fire of a nuclear weapon in the Indian ocean or the recently revealed documents that support a shared nuclear program with Apartheid South Africa. -

Hahaha that's the basis of your defense? That Israel would be so stupid as to a have a "silo" that everyone could see? No Israel couldn't camouflage one, no that's beyond Israel's capability? Please. Plus Israel's main strike capability would be aircraft that would be launched at the first sight of a missile launch. Whatever the reason that Temple Mount is the third most holy site in Islam, it is now the narrative of the Islamic world, you can't change that. Really? Then solve it for us, would you? I was talking about Israel's retaliation ability. It is very simple: There is no way Israel could be defeated. -

There is no way a nuclear strike would damage Israel's retaliation cabilities. First of all a missile launch would be seen by Russia, America and Israel itself. Second Israel's nuclear arsenal is deeply bunkerized and could withstand a direct hit. Third Iran's missile's guidance system are basic at best they have just as good chance of hitting Lebanon as they do Israel. Finally each bomb has a signature where they can tell where the Uranium came from and who enriched it. Yeah millions of surrounding Muslims and the third most Holy place in Islam. Not going to happen. Yes it is. -

Ahhh got ya. The Iranians are already beyond that point though. My understanding is that Saddam was never able to able to enrich Uranium and after the attack Iraq was never able to rebuild the reactor as it couldn't get any foreign help. Iran has the know how and materials to make ten of thousands of centrifuges and can by itself repair anything the Israeli destroy. An Israeli attack can't stop the Iranian nuclear program. Who knows what the Syrians were up to. -

Ask them what? If Israel attacked Iran Syria and Shia Iraq would attack Israeli interests in Israel itself and around the world. -

It would be suicide for Iran to do a nuclear attack on Israel, there is no way Iranian rulers would threaten their position in power. But of course you're just going to give me the same bullshit line about how Muslims aren't rational people. -
Regardless whether or not you believe Iran is building nuclear weapons there is an interesting New York Times article with Barak where he claims that the Iranians are only a year away from entering the "immunity zone." After Iran enters this so called zone, " the point when Iran’s accumulated know-how, raw materials, experience and equipment (as well as the distribution of materials among its underground facilities) — will be such that an attack could not derail the nuclear project. " Yet even if they attack before they reach this so called zone Iran will still rebuild their program and reach the so called zone no matter what. All an attack would do, yes delay the Iranians but only temporarily. An attack only invites retaliation from Iran and its proxies as well as ensuring Iranian domestic support for nuclear program, something Iranians now would rather trade for the easing of sanctions and an economic boast that the dropping of sanctions would bring. If Dagan the respected former head of Mossad doesn't see the benefits of an attack, just what are the benefits?

The captain's antics while certainly amusing and depressing at the same are distracting from the real issue: Uncontrolled Capitalism in the cruise industry. In 1886 the American government passed a law, thePassenger Vessel Services Act of 1886 (PVSA), this simple piece of legislation basically kills the American domestic cruise industry and opens the door for foreign owned vessels with little to no controls over what they do. Sure this happened in Italy today but it's only a matter of time before something happens to a cruise ship sailing from an American port. As is the case with capitalism the first order of the day is to profit and if there are no regulations the shareholders force the company to sacrifice everything (safety, environmental costs) in the name of profit. The crews on these ships are from various nations, they have no common language and they work in sweatshop conditions 12-14hrs a day, seven days a week. They have no idea of what to do in an emergency because it would cost money to train them to function like a real crew. This is why this industry, and capitalism in general, needs to be regulated and reined in to prevent disasters like this happening (another case would be the gulf oil explosion). Sure this time it was the fault of the captain but what about next time when a freak wave hits a ship, or a equally overworked shipping vessel's crew crash collide into a cruise ship.

Israel's march to JudeoFascism
Post To The Left replied to Post To The Left's topic in The Rest of the World
Couldn't have said it better myself. There needs to be a real movement in Israel to protect human rights instead trying to bury these Jewish Fundamentalist crimes. I won't allow people on this site to throw women's rights out the window because of their belief that Israeli's can do no wrong and that to protect women's rights is somehow against Israel. There should never be point where we say: There is no need to fight for Jewish women's rights as real Jewish women would physically attack someone who tried to take away her rights. This just victimizes Jewish women twice, once when Jewish extremists take her rights, and second when people tell her that she isn't Jewish enough because she didn't fight. Women shouldn't have to physically attack someone to get their rights, their rights should be guaranteed by the state not sold down the river by the powers that be. -

When have I generalized about Jews. I think I've made it quite clear I'm talking about Jewish Extremist fundamentalists. If you had bothered to read my post you would have seen how several times I've pointed out that these welfare extremists make up 10% of the population, 20% of the Israeli school population. These fundamentalists don't want to work, don't want to serve in the greatest military in the world, the IDF, and are constantly trying to dismantle Israel's democracy. Already at official government events women aren't allowed to talk, and have to sit in a separate section where there presence won't offend the Jewish extremists. You don't find that alarming? AN OFFICIAL Israeli government ministry and women's rights are thrown out the window to appease the Jewish extremists. You talk about free speech but in Israel increasingly women's portraits aren't allowed in public. I guess you mean free speech unless it's a women giving a speech. I guess you mean free speech as long as it's not a women's picture in a poster. People are calling me a terrorist? When did that happen? -

So you're OK with American tax payer money paying for these religious welfare bums so that instead of working they can go and spit on little children? -

Nice try you won't but you wont't be able to sweep the Jewish Extremist threat against women's rights as easily as trying, in desperation, by trying to change the subject. As you talked about before the solution you have provided is for Jewish women who are attacked, threatened by Jewish Fundamentalists is for them to physically attack the Jewish extremists. So I ask you whenChanna Maayan was forced to sit in a segregated section at an official government event she didn't fight back, when the mother of that 8-year-old girl was spit on by Jewish fundamentalists didn't physically attack the Jewish extremists does that make them less of a Jewish women? It's seems like your assaulting Jewish women twice. Once for abandoning them to actions that, while pale to the horrible crimes in the muslim world, are still terrible and government sanctioned. Then a second time for telling them that because they didn't fight back they aren't "Jewish" -

Which would be a valid point if the extremist Jews were a static population. But they are the fastest growing population of Israel! 20% of Israeli children in school are these Jewish fundamentalists and their numbers are only increasing. Already their status of King maker in the Israeli election has allowed them significant power including, for now, the health ministry. Just in that one ministry they have already segregated the sexes and banned women speakers at its functions! This is an official portion of the Israeli government! Imagine if the same thing happened in Canada and the Health minister said women are no longer allowed to speak at Health Ministry functions, the sexes have to be segregated at all of government events. There would be outrage but because it's in Israel where this type of thing is OK there any criticism of the eroding of women's rights is seen as antisemitism. -

That's the difference between us then. You don't believe the reports that women are under threat in Israel while I believe people like Clinton who are alarmed at the threat to media and women's rights and of course the actual women in Israel who have to every day put up with this new gender apartheid that the Jewish extremists are trying to enact. -

I'm curious what is this "extreme language" that they're complaining about. It doesn't sound like he inserted any facts or figures about water usage. If he didn't change the facts of the report the saddest thing is that this guy allowed Israel and its allies' to brush off this report as "propaganda" where as if he had just left it alone it would have been a useful tool against the unjust occupation of Israel. -
If a countries leader threatens another with annihilation
Post To The Left replied to a topic in The Rest of the World
Doesn't this justify Saddam Hussein's moves against the Bushes? America's leader, Bush Sr and Jr, threatened Iraq with regime change same as Iran's leader threatened to wipe out the Israeli political leadership with regime change. So by saying the Israeli political regime has a right to defend itself so too did the Saddam Regime? -

The problem is people like you who tell Israeli women to be quiet while you try and sweep this growing trend of supresion of women's rights under the rug. You try and justify their plight by arguing "Hey at least you don't have it as bad as Arab women!" But the question you ignore at the expense of women in Israel is: for how long? For how long will women in Israel be free, for how long will a women be able to Prime Minister. How can a women compete for office if Jewish extremists won't allow women's faces to be shown on billboards or even ads? No matter how much you try and cover it up it doesn't change that Israel has a growing sickness. I mean look at this shit: -

Even during the Jim Crow laws of America's past it was freer than Muslim countries now, yet that doesn't make the attacks against women in Israel and the increasing degradation of Jewish women to second class citizens anymore right. Just because some other country attacks women or minorities doesn't make it OK in Israel to attack women and marginalize them into the shadows of Jewish society . -

Not to mention official campaigns by Jewish religious groups that strive to keep the Jewish blood line pure by protesting against Mixed Jewish/Arab relationships. "Not long after religious nationalists held a rally in Bat Yam under the banner of "Jewish girls for the Jewish people," a group of rabbis' wives published a letter urging Jewish women not to date Arab men." -

I know its getting bad! Not Afghan bad but bad. Here is another heart breaking story of women facing oppression in the "New Israel" Truly heartbreaking to watch Israel go down the road of religious extremism as it will be the downfall of a truly great country, Israel. A population that refuses to work (65 percent of working-age men in the ultra-Orthodox community don’t have jobs and don’t want them), that make up 21% of the present school population, and don't know how to work a TV or computer. All they want to do is collect welfare, breed and threaten women. There is no way Israel can support its incredible first class army and these leaches on society.
