because those who control israel were given the opportunity to do the right thing and they failed to do so. now it's time to move forward without israel.

you can try to belittle these artists, the academics in the UK and all those who support human rights for palestinians, but at the end, actions like this has worked before. it was the boycotts and divestment like this that eventually brought about the fall of apartheid south africa.
-
with or without the israeli government's cooperation, a palestinian state will be formed.
-
oh no! look who is begging for forgiveness. Ahead of second Gaza flotilla, PM sends letter to Turkish counterpart congratulating him on third term, describing wish to 'renew cooperation, friendship that characterized relations between two peoples for so long' link bibi is really nervous.
-
unlike you, there are people who are not bothered with admitting faults of their own government. our government's faults and mistakes does not cancel out the u.s. government's faults and mistakes which effect the whole world. you seem to have troubles understanding that.

two dozen ships are sailing from around the world in support of the gazans and palestinians. this is unprecedented and it goes to show where this is heading. israel has decided not to participate in and accept a palestinian state thus, isolating itself. people don't want to wait for israel to change its mind and do the right thing. 2 French ships to join Gaza flotilla - link- NY Times, CNN to Travel Aboard Flotilla - link- Canadians to sail in flotilla protesting Gaza blockade - link- Alice Walker: Why I'm sailing to Gaza - link-

human rights violations goes beyond being allowed to vote. boycotts and divestment. it's happening already. if it wasn't working, the israeli hasbara would not be cranking out the propaganda in order to stop the momentum. same thing happened in south africa and it will happen in palestine. so, yeah, you are going off on a tangent. the palestinian authority has already accepted israel based on international law. it happened over 20 years ago. it's going to happen dancer. a palestinian state will be formed and you're not going to like it.

it's all about to end bob, bonam and porch dog. israel's tactics are not sustainable. the systematic human rights violations by the israeli government will end just like the apartheid ended in south africa. the world can no longer sit back and watch and the momentum has been gaining against the status quo. many of the people heading to gaza on these ships are jews, just like you. when you have holocaust survivors and their families dedicating themselves to this and saying it's wrong for israel to continue treating palestinians the way they are, you know it's going to be over. more and more artists are pulling out of performing in israel. there is an academic boycott of israel in the UK which was recently renewed. not to mention the inevitable recognition of a palestinian state which the ultra rightwing israeli government doesn't want to be a part of. israel will have to live beside a palestinian state, whether it wants to or not. it's no longer their choice.

you sad, sad people. i'm sure it's not easy for you guys to be so beautiful, but, she's so fugly comments are usually made by either 11 year olds with low self esteem or adults from the bottom of society's barrel. u.s. and canada do not support syria's human rights violations. u.s. and canada support israel's human rights violations. that's just one of many differences between your desperate attempt at discouraging and minimizing good deeds by people who are standing up for human rights.

anyone who criticizes israel is an anti-semite.
-
okay. so you agree with me that democracy and human rights is nowhere near being a major reason for united states' actions or in-actions, even though it tells people otherwise. that's the point i was trying to make. whether it's okay for the u.s. to do this or not is a whole other discussion.
-
those are all minor points. no one cares about italy's needs. the main point which you forgot to mention is geopolitical and the interest of u.s. and israel in those countries and governments. these interests trump democracy and human rights. this is proven by the actions taken so far. here is why the u.s. has treated libya differently than the following countries even though their actions have gone against human rights and democracy just like in libya: bahrain: yes-man dictatorship that keeps the iran friendly shia majority out of power and of course, there is a u.s. base that is stationed there. syria: an assad fall could create an instability that israel would like less than with assad staying in power. there is also the arab states who are urging u.s. and the west to not allow assad to fall. conclusion: this is about 'the interests' of united states with democracy and human rights being way down on the list of interests.

yet another quick witted porch dog comeback taken from his 'i know you are, but what i am' bag.
-
syrian and bahrain governments' responses have been similar to how ghaddafi responded to protesters at the beginning of the uprising in libya. however, u.s.' and other western governments' responses to those situations have been different. i mean really.

ron paul is a true fiscal conservative. harper, bush, clinton, reagan, mulruney, obama all have had major obligations to corporations who have funded their rise to leadership. this is why majority of the corporations continue to make billions and billions in profit, while the standard of living for the middle class continues to decline.
-
you're either missing the point or purposely playing dumb. lip service by the white house is expected. the white house does not want to see the bahrain dictatorship removed. this is why strategic allies trump democracy and human rights. here is reality: At a meeting with the crown prince at the State Department, Hillary Clinton, US secretary of state, said: “ Bahrain is a partner, and a very important one, to the US, and we are supportive of a national dialogue and the kind of important work that the crown prince has been doing in his nation, and we look forward to it continuing.” link despite this: Bahrain medical staff 'tortured for confessions' Doctors and nurses put on trial in Bahrain yesterday told relatives they were beaten with hoses and wooden boards embedded with nails and made to eat faeces. They also had to stand without moving for hours, or even days, and were deprived of sleep in order to force them to sign false confessions. The Bahraini authorities have put on trial 47 doctors and nurses before a security tribunal, accusing them of trying to overthrow the government, though they say all they did was treat injured pro-democracy protesters. link

i wouldn't call bahrain a proxy of saudi, i'd call saudi and bahrain a proxy of united states. both dictatorships have u.s. military bases stationed in their country and have a tight relationship with the u.s.
-
i'm talking about the western governments' stance on bahrain's government's treatment of protesters as compared to their stance on some other arab countries. this is just another case which illustrates that those in power in the u.s. do not care about human rights and democracy even if they want everyone to believe they do.
-
what are you talking about?
-
the video starts off with a bang: "president obama has proposed that israel should return to its 1967 borders in exchange for being annihilated." no point in watching anymore of the video since it's starts with b.s. there is a difference between the bibi propaganda in this video and what obama really said: "1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps" means the two sides will "negotiate a border that is different than the one that existed on June 4, 1967." thanks for the propaganda, dancer.

looks like you find your way to this board only after you miss your medication. i don't think it's right for you to say that i hate jews because i agree with the geneva convention's 'right of return' policy which pretty much all countries, including israel, is a signatory to. these people were driven out of their homes and land due to the violence and should be allowed to return to them. or at least, the issue should be dealt with in one way or another. perhaps some sort of compensation. you realize that you are an anti-semite if you believe the people who were driven out of their homes should not be allowed to return to their homes and land.
-
did you hear about the bahrain government putting medical staff (doctors, nurses, medics) on trial for treating the protesters who were injured by the government? too bad we don't hear much about what's happening in bahrain. i'm sure it has to do with the yes-man relationship bahrain has with the u.s.
-
it's all a conspiracy and everyone is out to get the jews. because 'the right of return' is not about doing the right thing and allowing the people who were forced out by the violence to go back to their land and homes.
-
well said.
