I didn't realize this poll was just meant as a rant against oil companies. I voted for them to be punished for causing a death like any other person. I do not agree that all oil companies are evil and should be abolished. You should change the poll to reflect your true agenda.

As long as there is "party discipline and whips in parliament the views of individual members are almost irrelivant compared to party positions. So, party affiliation should be on the ballot to aid accurate voting.

Taxes are levied and"subsidies" paid according to priorities we establish. If you, or we, don't like the priorities we can support a political party who will change them to suit us. Surely a party that would propose lowering income taxes but quit maintaining roads and add a means test to medicare would be elected with a huge majority <sarcasm off>

There are certainly other things that would be a higher priority for me to push my provincial legislature to address. This is a non-issue in my mind.

It amazes me that my Jamaican wife learned in elementary school, not only all the Canadian provinces but also all the CPR stops through the country including Moose Jaw,Regina, Melville.WinnipegWaWa Soiux Lookout and Capreol. Just asI learned all the American states and capitals in grade 8. Americans don't learn Canadian details for the same reason we don't learn details about Jamaica, which has a facsinating history, but it doesn't matter to us.
