  1. Trudeau said that their are no Liberal senators. Are you saying he lied?
  2. I highly doubt their finances are an issue at all. They may not be used to having a debt, but they won't sit on it.
  3. Obviously this is not the result I would prefer, but I can't agree with your assessment at all. Majorities offer stability and the opportunity for a governing party to sink or swim on their own policies, It's the only way that the people actually get the government that they voted for. When you have minorities, the entire election campaign is rendered meaningless because you end up having no option but to adopt policies that you campaigned against in order to actually stay in power.
  4. I think he was negotiating to stay on as a columnist at NP, but step down as editor (rather than outright quit). He likely had to tread carefully until he had it in writing.
  5. And the more left they are, the more you have to watch your wallet. If this is news to you, you have not been paying attention.
  6. Not hyperbole. It's a core tennet. Taking from others by rule of force, and making them pay for things they don't want. Go left, you get more of that, go right, you get less.
  7. Left-wingers by definition have no integrity.
  8. I wonder if Elections Canada checked with legal. If it's an internal rule that they can just change, doesn't that mean it never was actually a law?
  9. I agree. Time to give the job to someone who isn't a left-wing hack.
  10. Nice find! Thanks for that!
  11. Yeah, I mean specifically who he endorses in an election. My recollection is that he ends up backing the LPC. I'm going by admittedly faulty memory too. I was well aware of 2011 (easy to find links for), but I couldn't find a link of his specific endorsements in previous years.
  12. Citation request for him NOT endorsing the federal Liberals somewhere. I'm not saying he's never done it, I just haven't seen it. I'm specifically talking LPC, not other organizations with the word liberal in them.
  13. He's not that much of a small "l" liberal in the modern sense, but he definitely is a Liberal Party of Canada partisan. Has been for many years.
  14. Because there is literally not a damn thing wrong with it whatsoever. If anything, it's a sign of significantly MORE integrity that the PMO's Chief of Staff felt so strongly about reimbursing the taxpayers that he did so out of his own pocket. The guy should be getting an award.
  15. Coyne has openly endorsed the Liberals for quite some time, nothing's really changed here.
  16. If it's a campaign contribution.
  17. People legally give public officials money all of the time.
  18. A/ That is not even remotely true, and B/ Duffy is not an elected official.
  19. If paying back someone else's expenses while kicking them out for incurring it is what qualifies as a scandal, the CPC might just be the cleanest government in the history of western democracy.
  20. I don't either, but I at least took the time to vote.
  21. It absolutely should be a scandal, but it won't be because it's business as usual. This was arranging who to give those envelopes to.
  22. It's a false premise. The big spending was opposition policy. Lower taxes resulted in greater government revenues which allowed the Conservatives to erase the deficit in record time. Current debt to GDP is very low, one of the best in the world.
  23. You can bet your house that Mulcair would ratify it if he won. He'd blame the Conservatives for giving him no choice or some lame excuse, but he's only against it because he's in opposition and needs to be seen 'opposing'.
  24. Already answered a few pages back. It's got nothing to do with the PMO.
  25. Wait, you didn't even vote in the EDA election? Why not?
