  1. The sad and divisive era of the Harper Conservatives is over. Goodbye Mr. Harper, you will be remembered for nothing but antagonism.
  2. Ah desperation sets in. We all know if this was a left wing government you'd be sharpening the knives. The unfortunate fact for conservativesis that they've spent 10 miserable years in power bleating on and on about the dangers of deficits and how they're the only ones capable of balancing the budget. I think only the kool-aid drinkers are going to let them walk away from that.
  3. Interestingly the only organization ever proven to have bombed oil infrastructure in Canada is the RCMP
  4. Nope, the RCMP for instance has a good track record of covertly bombing pipelines.
  5. I'll never understand how people can think the governments too irresponsible to spend a fiver appropriately yet responsible enough to torture and maim.
  6. Oh bullshit, they were in deficit before the crisis hit.
  7. I don't think any previous PM has been as concerned with the peaseants the Canadian public getting close to them as Harper. What makes Harper so special?
  8. Yeah I hear those paper signs were razor sharp! Maybe we could use them in the guillotine?
  9. Like those Conservative Action Plan propaganda pieces?
  10. They're still using those talking points when it comes to crackhead Ford. The response of 'conservatives' to both the Ford crack fiasco and Harper's senate scandal really have shown the sad state of conservatism in this country.
  11. That would be a problem as I'd imagine competence might be something the electorate looks for in a party's leader.
  12. I don't see the similarities.
  13. Anyone wanna do some digging and find out how many of those saying "The media is blowing this out of proportion" were the same people who ate up the "Jack Layton whore house" story?
  14. Treating politics like sports? Nimwits who treat the two alike are responisble for the state of our democracy.
  15. I'm sure those who viciously attacked the credibility of The Star and it's reporters will be professing their apologies soon.
  16. I don't know that I'd use "Harper" and "Integrity" in the same sentence, unless a word like "lacking" had been placed between the two. No, Harper will not willingly resign.
  17. Outraged at what? There's been nothing to suggest anything wrong was done. Everything on this story seems to be driven by the unsubstantiated knee-jerk opinion that the RCMP seized guns because they don't like citizens owning them. I live in BC, in close proximity to cougars, bears, and coyotes, so I can tell you that your vastly overestimating the risk animals pose.
  18. Perhaps I should have said strongly inclined. There is nothing what-so-ever, to suggest that the RCMP did anything unreasonable. In my opinion this is a non-issue invented by right wing gun nuts.
  19. Well that's exactly the point, gun nuts are spewing out some rather ridiculous statements without anything to back it up. Until more comes out I'm inclined to believe the RCMP seized unsafely stored guns during their search and rescue efforts. And I wasn't referring to everyone who disagrees with my opinion as a right wing gun nut, just the one ones spouting off on how this is some sinister effort the disarm the population or other such drivel.
  20. Right wing gun nuts are overplaying their hand on this one. People don't have the right to endanger others by storing firearms unsafely in their houses, accidental discharges can easily penetrate walls and harm nearby persons, or they could end up on the black market. If the RCMP is performing search and rescue and notice that Billy-Bob left his potentially loaded gun sitting on the table better the RCMP confiscate it than let it sit there for who knows what to happen. As far as I'm concerned the RCMP has been unnecessarily merciful in these seizures, as they should really be bringing criminal charges against these people.
  21. It'll be funny to watch "staunch" Alberta conservatives come cap in hand to the feds.
