I'd like to start please kimmy. These guys, independent Christian thinkers have been getting a lot of persecution lately from all sectors of society - from politicians to pseudo-commie celebrities: Westboro Baptist Church It seems that every time they go an exercise their freedom of speech, others harrass them and make fun of them, deride them and shout them down. These poor souls try to express their independent ideas in public and they are persecuted and humiliated at every turn, probably moreso because it is Christmas time. It's disgusting! Also, I feel that those Christians who murder abortion doctors are persectuted too. No, wait, I meant prosecuted. Sorry.

What would that prove that we already don't know? Don't you think it is important that Western countries conduct wartime operations according to the civilized rules or are we to be held to the standards of North Korea?

Yes we can. We have freedom of expression too.

I said "right to bear arms." Now how much mental masturbation did you have to do to suggest that I "don't believe in the right to self-defence?" Seriously, is that something only a conservative can decide upon? Nooo, really? Thanks for pointing that out Mr. Voltaire, sir.

I was going to say 'drug dealers too' but then I remembered big pharma.

It is a slippery slope that one hopes errs on the side of individual rights. That is when things turn violent I think, so let's hope it never gets to that point. But I won't hold my breath.
-
Come on now, sheesh.

We are talking about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms here. If you want to go on about the right to bear arms, move south until you come to a border.

Except that in my cable bill I have to pay for the SunTV garbage and no one asked me. Are they back on Bell yet? -

LOL, wrong. DP and the strawman. Such a nice couple. -
I have been keeping my eye on these things since way back in the day when I saw one demonstrated. I think back then they were using some sort of wax or light plastic material. Things have changed. 3D printers manufacture objects in your home If I understand this correctly, the material used to create the objects is re-usable. A different drinking up everyday sort of thing. Although one has to wonder if they will make the printers super cheap, but charge you an arm and a leg for the ABS cartridges.

No one is forcing you to pay for my entertainment. You are seriously misled. -

U.S. F-35 program could be on chopping block
Shwa replied to olp1fan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yeah, I saw all of that on the news in the 60's and early 70's. I read the magazines and looked at the graphic photos in Time magazine and listened to the comments on TV news programs. It all seemed so... black and white. Imagine, war and domestic politics entwined like that. -

Can you prove that they are? No? Didn't think so. -
U.S. F-35 program could be on chopping block
Shwa replied to olp1fan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is a far cry from, "It was folks such as yourself working for the enemy at home that lost the Viet-Nam War to the Communists." Come now, let's see you defend such a statement with some factual information. -

I did give you a version, that of three sources independent of either of us. What now? Afraid to get into a discussion where you actually have to prove yourself against a disinterested source? Yeah, I thought so 'fraidy cat. -
U.S. F-35 program could be on chopping block
Shwa replied to olp1fan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No it wasn't, that's just a loser's excuse. See? My "version" is as legitimate as yours. Now, be a good boy and go prove your point instead of making all these empty headed pronouncements. Use Google or Yahoo, if you wish. Go ahead. I really want to know how "folks such as" me did this. -
Standard C.A. method dontchya know. At any rate, seeing the quality of your postings, I presumed the comment was directed at you. The Canadian Human Rights Act and all the provincials acts too? But the Occupy Toronto protesters are and, whether you like it or not, when they make challenges based on violations of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, they represent your interests as well. And of course, they don't do this, as everyone knows. See what I mean about creating false dichotomies in an effort to contribute? Do you check under your bed at night too? OK, so since you "don't mind" equating power with wealth, then you must currently believe that there IS an equal opportunity to acquire wealth and you will have some sort of citation or reference to prove your belief. Please cite. No, I understand the term perfectly well and all I am getting from you is whining. Except inheritance of wealth, which hasn't been earned at all hence the use of the word 'inherited.' You make it sound like the person who inherits furniture somehow particiapte in the act of creating it too. There is no personal attack, I am just weighing your evidence to come to a conclusion. Are you saying you aren't on welfare? Because if all you have is a post on a thread on MLW, well, that isn't very powerful in the wealth = power world you live in. So I am just guessing.

My version wouldn't be any more legitimate than your version. Just take, say, Wikipedia as 'a' version and that should be good enough for you to prove that "folks such as" me caused the US to lose "the Viet-Nam war to the Communists." You actually have me intriqued now. I can't wait for your dissertation. -

Jeepers, I thought you would be more aware of the Vietnam War, but I guess not. Here are some resources to help you out: Vietnam War - Wikipedia Battlefield Vietnam - PBS Vietnam War - history.com If need any more, let me know and I'll see what I can dig up on this Internet search thing-a-ma-bob they call "Google." -
The judge could not have issued an injunction at all, so you may want to look at why it was issued in the first place. Usually on account of something seen than could be probable cause right? So giving a time period could be used in an effort for the two sides to re-think their position in order to resolve it or to ensure that there is enough time for both parties to prepare their arguments. Especially if it is a serious matter, like a citation of the Charter, which the Occupiers have done.

C.A.'s comment appears to be directed at you gramps. I asked a legitimate question of your ability to discern between reality and what you've already made up in your head. Oh, but they do and often. What do you think human rights codes are all about? Right. So justice isn't really blind, she has one eye open to spot the coin just in case. No, it's whining of the worse sort. Then you are OK with monarchy and nobility in Canada. Because, afterall, wealth = power, then inheritance of wealth also means inheritance of power. I see you as a supporter of the plutocracy even though you are likely no plutocrat. More whining. Boo hoo. Except inherited wealth. You misquoted yourself, which isn't surprising. However, what you have done is purported to speak for everyone "save for a few hundred hippies" while the few hundred hippies have a national stage and all you have is a post on a thread on MLW. According to your standards, you must be on welfare.

Apparently. Unfortunately, some of them got elected to government.
