  1. The money is in Canada. 6 Canadian teams account for 31% of revenue in a 30 team league. Do the math. A lot of people in Southern Ontario would gladly buy hockey tickets, if there was another team. Leafs games are all sold out and very expensive. My guess is teams in Hamilton and Toronto would both sell out their games. The market is not completely tapped as you suggest it is. Its just not true.
  2. That statement as I pointed out before is just flat out false. Even a basic elementary read of pre-european history in North America would dispell your arrogant, and fraudulent claims... but as everyone reading your posts can immediately see you simply have not done one iota of research on the matter. Like I said... you could reasonably make the claim that they were progressing slowly. But claiming they were not progressing at all, is nothing more than pure, unmitigated, uneducated, ignorance.
  3. Good point. How did any of those things help to create an Islamic Caliphate? Oh yeah... youre right they didnt. And fighting the soviets in Afghanistan? Lemme guess... he hated their freedom too? Youre the one with the simpletons explanation. I tried to explain to you that theres a whole myriad of motiviations behind dozens of loosely affiliated groups you mistakenly refer to as "Al Qeada", and that "Al Qeada" isnt even a real coherent organization in the way that you understand it. But go ahead... carry on with your deep and brainy "muslims are evil!!!" analysis
  4. Thats an urban legend BTW. The rate of recitivism for pedophiles is actually lower than that of other criminals and nowhere near 90%. http://docs.google.com/gview?a=v&q=cac...el8Gjf62AJDfXdw But dont let reality interupt your boring rant. Carry on.
  5. Its reasonable to suggest Natives would not have progressed technologically and socially at the rate Europeans did, but your suggestion that they wouldnt have progressed at all is just silly. Look at the diferences between the Archaic and Formative periods in pre-European native culture. They went from gatherers to people that engaged in full time agriculture. They went from small nomadic groups to people that lived in cities with thousands of people. The Anasazi built multi level apartment complexes, built roads between cities, and engaged in long distance trading with natives in Mesoamerica. Your post is so ignorant I cant believe I wasted time replying to it.
  6. No diferent than indoctrinated western fools blathering on about how muslims and various other cultures are evil. We got scumbags... they got scumbags...
  7. Im sure Toronto and Buffalo voted against Ottawa as well. But yes... when you buy a franchise you get rights to a certain protected area... do you have a link showing that Hamilton is part of Toronto or Buffalos protected area? Because if it isnt all they get is ONE VOTE EACH. And if I was going to open a Tim Hortons Id want to it to be where theres lots of coffee drinkers, and If I had a bunch of them in markets where the stores were empty half the time, like the NHL does than Id be looking for new venues. In any case theres a pile of franchises in the US that are going to need to be moved. At least 6. Currently the successful franchises are being forced to subsidize them, meaning they lose revenue.
  8. They rejected the process Ballsillie used not the idea of adding Canadian teams. The fact remains that a whole bunch of teams in the US are not profitable and probably never will be. They will need to be moved to markets that can sustain them, and of those Southern Ontario is definately the top pick. As for your suggestion that theres been consistant growth of US players in the NHL... got a source? The only stats I can find say the percentage of Americans in the league has dropped about 1.5% in the last 25 years.
  9. So I should be forced to buy medicine because of these people that are at risk? Id rather take the drugs my doctor tells me are medically necessary thanx. Those "experts" are a little too cozy with drug companies IMO. In any case my doctor doesnt have a strong opinion on it one way or the other, and only recommends the shots to a certain demographic. If he suggested strongly that I take them, then I probably would.
  10. Actually Bin Ladens movement was mostly a reaction to western influence especially the presence of foreign troops. But AlQeada itself is an umbrella not an organization. Its comprised of dozens of loosely affiliated splinter organizations that have dozens of different causes and goals. Some driven by religious extremism, some driven by regional squabbles over land power etc, some driven by arab nationalism. Your simplistic take on these people is shared by many in the west unfortunately which is why we are getting our asses handed to us in the "GWOT". No understanding of the enemy what-so-ever and only a vague idea of who the enemy even is.
  11. The NHL needs successful US teams. It doesnt need these teams... Phoenix Tampa Sunrise Releigh Anaheim NY Islanders Atlanta Columbus Nashville St.Louis And theres big demand for another team in Southern Ontario. Also... BTW... Toronto and Buffalo get two votes at an NHLBOG meeting. And if Buffalo folds because a team in Hamilton out-performs it as a business... who cares. So be it. I dont know when it will it be but its inevitable.
  12. I could care less who runs that dump.
  13. Nope. Not interested in taking medicine for the sake of taking medicine. My bouts with flu are rare and managable.
  14. Problem is... who would you be counting on to enact such measures? OH YEAH! The federal government, and the parties that take turns controlling it. Chance of it happening whether its a good idea or not? ZERO.
  15. Youll see another team in southern Ontario before you get one in Quebec or Winnipeg. In any case... The NHL should and will expand in Canada because thats where the money is. The 6 Canadian teams accounted for a whopping 31% of NHL revenues last season, and saw double digit increases in revenue. Meanwhile 11 of the 24 US club either had flat revenues or lost income. So whether Quebec and Winnipeg are the "perfect" cities for teams or not, they are likely better markets than at LEAST a half dozen of the US markets that currently have teams. If you wanna start a Jack In The Box I guess... Phoenix Tampa Sunrise Releigh Anaheim NY Islanders Atlanta Columbus Nashville St.Louis Might do ok... But IMO Quebec and Winnipeg would be a better place for pretty much ANY of those teams. http://www.torontosun.com/sports/columnist...243026-sun.html
  16. If you sign up for the agreement but fail to meet your targets/obligations what is the penalty?
  17. Whats this silly tripe about "you and your ilk"? Are you really that obsessed with the false right vs left dichotomy?
  18. All ratings driven corporate media design programming to sell ad space to sponsors willing to target a certain demographic. CNN, FOX, etc etc. Every second you spend watching ANY of them is a second you spend getting dumber and less knowledgeable.
  19. The senate isnt supposed to rubber stamp legislation based on what party they belong to. Its a GOOD thing that the Senators dont just blindly follow party leadership.
