Get a grip,ms,think for a change.Canada has had rich and poor since 1867,we never killed each other because of it,except for the armed robbers,who got carried away and took somebody's life because they thought their needs superceded somebody else's right to exist. This whole terrorism issue is not about the poor,for Christsake,the terrorists come from oil producing countries,they have a winning lottery ticket every morning,the fact their "rulers"don't share the prize money with their citizens is hardly a fault of North America. The terrorists are religious fanatics who want total control of their and our destiny.Economics have nothing to do with it,except that leaders of Arab nations do not look after their own people.saddam was a very good poster boy for that way of "ruling his people".

The province of Quebec gets 70% of Canadian taxpayers money allotted for Canada Day celebrations. Most of that 70% is apparently spent on the June 24th St.Jean Baptiste celebration. Is this a slap in the face by the fdereal liberals and Quebec PQ's that you can feel,or do you need a jab a little further south?

You are correct to a point,but the visible minorities are still mostly from french speaking cultures or countries. If you don't believe me,check with stats Canada,providing they have legitimate hiring records. And women can be francophone ,can they not? BTW,which "some" governments are you talking about. I was talking about the feds.Are you talking about the quebec gov.,whose policy is not to hire any english minority,mostly because they control their own immigration,a freedom not extended to other provinces,and allow only immigrants from francophone nations?

msyrup,what do your beloved ndp supporting unions have to say about this issue?Will it not make it harder for them to gaurantee their members job security if there is more interruption at borders,and a Canadian product can't get through to the US to be sold,thereby nulling the need for further production of goods in Canada?

And like it is,Canadians vote on perhaps one person or issue,not taking into account the detrimental effect their one issue vote has on Canada as a whole. I guess some Canadians are very greedy as well.

I still cannot believe how some of you on this site can completely accept the damage the liberals have done to this country,and yet still find a way to rationalize that every problem Canada has is because of a Mike Harris tax cut.Did Mr. Harris have some divine power and make tax cuts in all of Canada? Take Ontario for instance,the dalton regime has now announced that CANADIANS whose parents now make a combined income of 54,000.00 or more ,are not eligble for student loans,even though the tax collected from that 54,000.00 pays for all of the liberal anti Canadian ideals,and keeps their cashflow constant.At the same time,they will give loans and grants to immigrants,who have never paid a penny into the tax system,and help them in any way to obtain a higher education.

If ms.parrish did not speak for all of the liberal party,then she would no longer be their today. This should once again prove that liberals are all about speaking from the corner of their mouths. To put it bluntly,the liberals think that the 64% of Canadians who did not vote for them are intellectual morons,and that ms.parrish better represents the true Canadian sentiment.
