Theresa May wasn’t one of the most vocal figures of the debate, but she stuck to the government line: that Britain would be better off remaining part of the European Union. As a high level cabinet Minister (May was the longest serving Home Secretary for over a century), this is not surprising. Her position on UK Brexit is challenging to say the least since she warned UK voters that Brexit could have seriously damaging effects on the economy, the security, and even the current form of the United Kingdom....

This is exactly my point to taxme.... In the absence of a solution with substance to tackle the immigration he is just saying ship all the existing refugees...
-
Well that is the point....In UK immigrants are treated far better compared to france, germany, italy and the netherland, which is why it is a desirable destination. Brexit in UK was highjacked by some wackos who only saw this as an opportunity to vote no to Europe to resist the polish and eastern european migration. (Something they refer to as vermin...) Reality is a great majority of brits who voted for Brexit disassociated themselves from these people as they had other concerns that were higher in their priority list....Brexit just gave these people the opportunity to vent their anger and get their voices heard...However, it remains to be seen if these immigrants can stay in UK after hard Brexit.

What do you propose we should do with those refugees that are here now....Gas chamber?

There is no native US citizen....Try telling that yourself until you believe it... US is made of Irish, english, french, italian, iranian, jews and many other nationalities that emigrated there (including some butt hurt german nazis still ashamed of their attrocities during world war II. A post Schadenfreude syndrome....Now if some yankees wanna enlighten us that America belongs to red necks only ofcourse they are free to live in their fantasy cuckooland... Btw....the contribution is not confined just to Nasa but the whole god damn Cilicon Valley and prominent CEO's. Can't be bothered to educate the ignorants. Facts are there for those who are interested. -

Trump's so called "revised ban" revisited
kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Always the same damn excuse to go back 40 years to justify the ban. Why now? Hostage crisis is truely over.... The truth is if your country stopped messing around with the politics of other countries, orchastrating coups to depose their democratically elected governments against the will of their people, shoots down their passenger airplane and stopped bullying them on daily basis, and so the list carries on....perhaps and only perhaps we will see a more controlled flow of immigration and less hostility and discrimination. Regardless of what you say America is built based on immgration and those top talented people that are just irreplacable. So you can go and knock yourself out. America owes it's existence to those darm immigrants.... -
Trump's so called "revised ban" revisited
kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
A valid question and one that must be addressed by those obssessed about Iran and go at any length and by any means to demonise a whole population at large regardless of their background or if they are genuine immigrants leaving the mullah regime in Iran behind... And this is all happening under the pretext of "safety and security measures" for US whilst saudi/ egyptian citizens who orchestrated 9/11 attacks and potential terrorists are welcome with open arms at the US controlled borders....The sad thing about these right wing nutjobs is they blame the liberals and Obama's admin as if Obama would have been implemented such a ban to this scale... This ban has nothing to do with keeping terrorists out of US but a blatant policy by the orange bufoon and his advisors to aggravate tension with those said banned countries. In the process the US government has already lost credibility as POTUS around the world and this is getting worse as a matter of time... -
Trump's so called "revised ban" revisited
kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Doesn't make this EO right nor Trumps decision making ability based on the information available. I still have not heard a valid/ rational explanation why a professional Iranian national or anyone from the afirementione countries should be stopped entry to US whilst they can make a valuable contribution under the pretext of security whilst a saudi national or anyone else with a track record of terrorist activity is allowed to enter the US. It feels as though any counter arguments put forth here is somehow to exonerate the real culprits and discriminate unreservedly against the nationals from the banned countries.... -
Trump's so called "revised ban" revisited
kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
None sense and you know damn well that discriminating against a group of people to let them into the country is just not valid reasons and the that's why Trumps stupid EO was upheld by the court first time....What a joke! The US and other western countries have been moaning for a long time about the human rights records and persecutions in the those said countries as a a pre text to levy sanctions. Now that some of the people have immigrated and are seeking safety are turned back by the US because of this ban! Besides.....If the motivation is to stop home grown or foreign terrorists what is stopping the US to go after the real culprits lke Saudi Arabia? The answer to that is pretty obvious.... -
Trump's so called "revised ban" revisited
kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So what you are saying is just because the ban is on a small proportion of the muslim population then it makes it right!? This is not about a muslim ban but people who have been discriminately affected as the result of the ban! And yes it does become an issue when the ban is placed on PHD students and professionals having difficulty entering the US because of this stupid ban. I don't understand this whole notion of lumping people into a group based on their religious beliefs. Every country should have its own merits based on their history of hostility. what this ban is doing is the opposite...So it's ok to let in citizens from those countries that have a history of terrorist acitivities inside the US soil but it is not ok to allow citizens from these other countries that are professional and decent escaping prosecution in their own country!? This is absurd and it doesn't address the question about terrorism and safety if that was really the case.... If the rationale for this travel ban as many suggest here is based on religion then surely muslims entering the US should be vetted baaed on individual cases and not a country. -

Read the article posted first then let's discuss. -
Trump's revised ban has nothing to do with making America safe again... I won't really care if anyone here really thinks he is doing A "great job" as a POTUS but if anyone really cared and decent enough with a bit of morality they would realise that this is not doing anything to help make US safe again but instead unnecessarily increases animosity towards the US. What do you think? Please argue rationally instead of resorting to name callings and blankets statements..... Not a single American has been killed from a terrorist act in the United States committed by nationals from the countries targeted in the so-called revised travel ban. In the case of Iranian Americans, most of whom have fled to America as the result of persecution or oppression at home, are a model immigrant community in the United States. Despite decades of acrimonious relationship between their ancestral home and their adopted country, Iranian Americans are among the most successful immigrant community in the United States. A large number of them are businessmen, doctors, lawyers and engineers. They have senior executive positions with some of the largest corporations, including Twitter, eBay, Expedia, and Google. Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi who has won two academy awards and boycotted the 2017 Oscars in protest at the Trump travel ban was represented by prominent Iranian American scientist Firouz Naderi and an Iranian-American businesswoman, Anousheh Ansari, the first Iranian to go to space. kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
As I said this is a political move to undermine the credibility of the current US president Besides normally when one visits foreign country you would that requires visa one has to pay for it. Why as a brit, german or a french should there be a restriction and not vice versa? It is a right move by the EU and it should run its course for approval IMHO. -

kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Agreed! A controlled and trackable system is the right and morale way to go forward rather than discriminately ban a whole group or nation based on prejudices... National sovereignty is a topic that loosely defined to accomodate for ones own prejudices IMO. -

kactus replied to kactus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I have not seen any data that would suggest that the number of tourists visiting the US from the Euro zone has declined since Trump became the POTUS. But if that is true the sanction on US citizen to apply for a visa is more of a political move and a message to US policy makers than cost benefit on tourism IMO.
