Online voting increases voter turnout minimum 30%
CAMP replied to CAMP's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am looking into this article. I was told by Intelivote that it increased the overall municipal elections outcome by 30% so now I must find out the truth and I will. I have sent an email to intellivote with the link you have posted to see what they say. Let you know when I get something back -

If you go to the intelivote website it says on the security pdf that it does maintain anonymity -
You are right on the money Molly, Canadians are fed up with the decade after decade mismanagement and out right abuse of our political system with scandals and money siphoning etc. Electronic voting is one tool (a very powerful tool) to allow everyday Canadians to take back what is rightfully theirs.

Electronic voting is very secure. ( I also program computers for a living ) And I work in Canada. I don't get paid anything from intelivote. I simply found them on the internet way back when I was looking into electronic voting. I'm a keep it in Canada type person so I phoned them and had a long dialogue with them as to security and how the system would work. I also don't get paid by the Central Party of Canada, it is simply a collection of hard working Canadians who have had enough of the present political system and want a real alternative party to vote for that will stand up for them. -

The Central Party of Canada has looked into the Canadian company called Intellivote and has had a good deal of dialogue with them. You are correct in making sure the system is a safe system. Intellivote is a very professional and world renoun company that has been involved in setting up electronic voting in the UK and many other countries. There is extensive 3rd party auditing to ensure a true out come. It is a win win for Canada. We have a very good company with in our borders to set up the system thus creating jobs, and we as Canadians open up the possibilities to improving our democracy greatly. Electronic voting is new and so people don't like change. But like anything new it will have skeptics. Skeptics are good they would be the watch full eye. I'm sure the skeptics would still use the regular walk in method until they realize the ease of use. -
You are correct in some of your analysis of our disengagement of voters. However disengagement has happened over a long time span of corrupt governments. The only way to get back the voter turn out is to get people interested in their government operations again. There are many ways that help to do this, but one method will not do it on its own. Education of up and coming new voters is one way (I think this should be mandatory in high school) as well as new immigrants. This along with providing a method for people to actually have input in how their government is being ran through out a mandate would spark more interest in the general public. A point in case: I am sure most of the people on this forum who post and read would love to have the ability to persuade their government in between elections as well as during elections on the various issues. Electronic voting is a tool if applied properly would open up many doors of this nature. The Central Party of Canada is the only party adopting this method of voting because we are a true people's party who wants to improve our democracy.

Goodbye Greens - Hello Pirates?
CAMP replied to Mr. Whiteman Esq.'s topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The name is not exactly one of high reputability. Pirates steal. I think we could just add the expressive to the parties we now have and call them the Conservative Pirates, Liberal Pirates, etc. This pirate party movement is probably just a fad, like the rhino party. If you want to get involved with a real party that has a solid base check out the Central Party of Canada. -
Our EI system is only half a system now at best. It is in total need of overhaul. Unfortunately it will be overhauled by people who most likely will never need to use it. Again our government setting up a system for their own benefit with no input from the regular population who would need it. I wouldn't trust anyone on any panel put together by either Harper or Ignatieff to fix EI to be fair to all.

I agree with your statement of voting being important. Unfortunately we have a lower voter turn out than we should. Electronic voting can be as secure or even more secure than the polling stations we now operate. I don't think we fingerprint anyone at a polling booth do we? When I go and vote all I have to do is show some ID and then receive my ballot. No system is totally full proof. But with electronic voting you would engage more people to vote easier than ever before. Plus it could be used in between the main election to give the people a method to persuade their MP to vote as the majority in a riding wants on various issues. The advantages of upgrading our voting system to electronic voting would provide opportunities to provide timely communication as well as accountability of our elected MPs, if a party or government would take advantage of using electronic voting in this way. This is why the Central Party of Canada adopts on line voting as a key ingredient in getting back to a more democratic society with accountability and transparency. Also we would be able to keep in check a majority government if that should ever happen again. -

I'm not sure what you're saying here but I'll explain that when you do electronic voting you only get one vote and you would have a pin number set up previously or some other secondary check. If a person wants to sell their one vote I guess they could. Likewise I could probably go buy off some polling booth official and have the station corrupted in many ways also. I could also set up fake ID (easy to do on the internet) and buy off someones voting rights and actually go right into the polling station and cast it. Any system can be worked around by bad people, and I'm sure the present system already has been. -

Yah Harper would look good with a patch on one eye...lol -
Electronic voting would improve our Democracy simply because it increases voter turnout. Proven no arguement there, it's fact now. The security of the system would be just as secure as the walk in methods, and I believe would actually improve the security to an even higher level. You can rest assure that the Conservatives or Liberals would never allow electronic voting as this would further erode their hold on power to control Canadians. Electronic voting would also allow for Canadians to have a say through out the mandate via referendums or polls if the government actually wanted to know how we feel. (Which they usually don't) In short Electronic voting would put more power in the hands of the people. Don't you want more power?

The intellevote system would have extensive 3rd party auditing. But as far as has been explained to me the results are not public domain as to who exactly voted for who. Only the final results would be public domain. -
Why many Canadian people have inaccurate knowledge of China
CAMP replied to bjre's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I tell it like it is bud. I'm not afraid to be Canadian. I'm also tired of all this political correctness stuff too. You are perfectly within your rights to support who ever you choose so carry on. Tom -
Ok I'm looking forward to talking with you. Don't worry about being rusty, I don't mind at all. I hope to learn some french off of you too. I would love to learn to speak french, I was born in Quebec and hardly know the lingo. Tom

Skype is better and you can phone any phone number in North American with it too for 20 bucks a year if you choose to pay. Everyone else is free to skype if they have it on there computer. Basically turns one window on your computer into a phone system. We also hold online conferences with many people weekly for the party meetings.

Ben if you have a microphone and speakers on your computer load up skype (it's free)and we could talk via internet for free.

Why many Canadian people have inaccurate knowledge of China
CAMP replied to bjre's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Bjre, China has many problems and it's sorted history of cruel human behaviour is no different than many other countries. I think if I had to rank countries in order of just how nasty they were I'd be ranking China right up there with USSR or Hitler Germany, along with a few others. I know many Chinese immigrants in Canada and some of them thought the same way you do. A few I know very well and they now realize how brainwashed they were and really didn't know what went on in their country history including the square and deaths that happend there. I suspect over time you will change your thinking once you wash your brain with western soap...lol! It's plaining obvious to anyone on here that if you indeed are in Canada you should admit why. You can't fool us. You probably wanted more than one kid and couldn't do that over there. (Like many I know) And you were tired of living on rice with tiny bits of protien now and then, you know, like a chicken claw. At any rate if you want to return to China, I think we could round up enough $ off this website and people on this forum string to get your butt back there....lol! -
ok I'll try tommorrow night around 6 ( I assume the number you emailed me is your home number)
-
Hi Ben, I got the email, if you're still on let me know and I'll phone it's 11 now so might be a bit late. If you respond in the next 5 minutes I'll phone otherwise perhaps tommorrow night let me know either way. Tom

Federal Court to hear election challenge
CAMP replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well this should be interesting. The fellow who runs this democracy watch group was on a talk radio show this morning at 570 am the Gary Doyle show. I think you may be able to re listen to the segment if you go to the radio show page. Anyways sounds like Harper broke his own law he made to have fixed election dates and then broke his own law, because he thought it would give him a majority gov't. Well I'm waiting for the outcome of this one. Finally a little bit of accountability is shining through for Canada. I like this democracy watch guy! We need more of them. -
Hi Oleg, would you like to be our chief agent...hehhe...
-
Hi benny, we checked with Elections Canada about the name and they won't allow the name because of the possibility of confusion among voters to NDP. So for now we will use the Central Party of Canada and continue at a new/old web address that is re-vamped to take in the same message. However we don't have the french side done up yet at all so we really need your help now. contact me at [email protected] and let me know if you're still interested. The web sit is at canadian-alternative.com.... a long story of amalgamations and splits and more amalgamations to finally we have something workable that just might get registered.

Thanks Benny, We use the universal translater and it does put out some stuff that is not right. would you be interested in helping us out with the organizing of our party and website. Even if it's just getting the translation stuff right? We meet online using skype almost every Monday evening at 7. If you're interested let me know. All you need is either a telephone that we would call you so you have no charge or you can use your computer with speakers and microphone if you have that hardware. Best Regards Tom
