I was under the impression if you do something like this (crimes in different nations) then you get seperate trials and sentances in the different nations. What does it matter if the US gets first crack? I don't think they just walked over the border mr slayer. If there were 300+ officers involved, thats alot of manpower. For something this big, the Canadian cops probably asked for some help. Especially since the drugs were being sold south of the border.

Ontario has almost 40% of our population has 33% of the seats. Going by population they are under-represented. I will also agree with mr Shakeyhands, that I also consider myself a Canadian moreso than a Manitoban. Do you guys think that its just the big boys (Ontario, Alberta, BC) fighting over who is the "best" province, which breeds antagonism? Cause I'm not hearing the irrelivance argument coming out of Saskatchewan, or Manitoba.

Economy Hot & Unemployment 30 Yr. Low
SirSpanky replied to THELIBERAL's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We'd be hard pressed given the demographic trends (baby boomers entering the big spend time of their life) and America's success to not be smoking along. Don't attribute it to the government. -
Could we have an informal area of discussion?
SirSpanky replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Support and Questions
Computer tips and an informal board would be great I think. Theres so many little tidbits of great tech info to be shared. -
I'll agree mr. coma, that things aren't so awful, but I'd rather deal with this issue (and it will only get worse) now, than in 20 years when it will be exponentially more costly. ie) a dollar spent on the environment in developing China, would do far more than a dollar spent in developed Germany People need a good smack in the face to take action that doesn't immiediatlely affect them.

There are tolerant, intolerant, racist, weakling etc. prof's, just as there's the good, bad, and ugly people in the world. Most of my profs are profs simply because they spent the extra 3 or 4 years and got a masters or PHD. I hardly put any thought into why a certain prof has the opinion they do. The only discrimination I experienced was when I had to take a thermodynamics course taught by a mechanical engineer (I'm an Electrical) and my discipline was made fun of in a joking way

Microsoft hand in hand with an orwellian world
SirSpanky replied to Technocrat's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Surprising? Microsoft's responsabilities are to its shareholders, period. In your search for humanist morals, avoid conglomorates -
I would hope that somewhere there is "undying support" for a country who is surrounded by people who want their destruction. I don't agree with many things the Americans do, but helping out a country like that is one that I do, be it Israel, or any other.

Try skipping rope or swimming. If you can jog for 10min, you'll be able to jump rope for 3.

I think you misunderstood. It's that lefties ARE offensive. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Silly me, how could I get that wrong

To attribute unemployment to a particular PM, is not good practice. Its not like he gets elected, and the next day there's a 5% unemployment hike.

Who cares how its mispelled. As long as you can read it, and the person's not making a concerted effort to mispell, let it slide. Priorities people, priorities.

Geldof Nominated for 2006 Nobel Peace Prize
SirSpanky replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
His heart's in the right place, but as mentioned earlier, directly giving corrupt governments hurts more than it helps. I'd rather the award go to a front line worker, someone nobody hears too much about. Then lets point the media in their direction. The nobel organization has a chance to advance humanitarianism; Geldy won't do that as effectively as others -
Participation in forums is what you make it. Perhaps alter your approach; I do nothing but learn here. I do have a question from muddy's post though. I always hear people saying that lefty's are always on the offensive. I hear that more than actual belittling and preaching from leftists. Point me to where you guys get that from.

Yeah, too many people I think want to get "ahead"; whatever that means. Hehe, I like their accents. When they tell stories, I'll laugh my bum off even if its not funny.

I was a little young when the incidents went down to remember anything of substance. I was under the impression she assisted her boyfriend, but didn't actually murder anyone herself. Is that right?

We didn't know before?

Granted my friend, that all the great business policies you have there attract the alpha personalities, both corporate and individual. But does that give you the right to criticize all others? With such an arrogant attitude to boot? Personally, I wouldn't want to move there specifically for the economic regions. As long as I can get by, and raise a good family, I'm aight. This thinking of people as being defined by their groups is horse-$%^&. I'll agree with an earlier post in saying that we should think of others as fellow humans, and do what is necessary to let the maximum number of people live a healthy good life. IRT #46: It is just you. Lots of friendly people in central Canada

What planet are you on buddy? Alberta has NO sales tax and a 11% flat income tax which may soon be zero. So your idea of our government "taking too much of our hard earned money" is retarded. Alberta rocks. We are the richest, most innovative, hardest working and most practical -- not to mention beautiful, place in Canada. Deal with it. I have a hard time believing that somehow Albertans grow a different breed of human; most innovative / hardworking etc. That really sounds like a superiority complex to me.

The 11:00 news last night (thurs) made no mention of it. In fact they replayed the broadcast from the 6:00 news, so I assume its on still.

I am unsure what you mean by "another rawanda". Another Rawanda is already going on. More "Rawandas" are very possible in the surrounding regions. We should just not send any help because we can't send crack troops? Any troops would be helpful. And for all you who speak of Canada not pulling its weight internationally, this would be a great way to start. Make no mistake, we have contacts, and pull all over the globe. Its a matter of pressuring OUR elected government to do these things.

Wal-Mart to close unionized store in Quebec
SirSpanky replied to Bakunin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is no competition with timmy's. I swear they put heroin in their coffee its so addicting. -
Generally, the percentage of votes you get will be directly proportional to the amount of seats in government....... generally

Or a monetary one.
