i don't hate israel. israel is a lovely place and there are many lovely people in israel. i've met them. some of these lovely israelis turned off their loveliness when describing their support fot the treatment of the palestinians. however, most that i've talked to, seem to find these settlements to be the central problem of the conflict and find their government to be controlled by a group of rotating old school boys who are heavily influenced by people who still envision greater israel. anyway, despite the loveliness that israel does have, it doesn't mean that we should brush their treatment of the palestinians under the rug. israel has created a high standard for itself just like western countries. well above the countries that surround it. why do some people become sensitive when someone criticizes israel's unwillingness to follow these standards?

eh? your attention span and memory is lacking. i said your 'reason' for israel's occupation does not fit well with the timeline, since the attacks happened decades after israel's occupation and the illegal settlements. try again. okay. you're honest about your stance. i just wish people like krusty, dancer and bonam were honest like you.

eh? the first nations' land claims are being dealt with. we don't have fanatical religious settlers occupying their lands. we're not demolishing their homes and breaking international law.

no one should accept illegal actions. whether it's suicide attacks, targeting civilians, stealing land, blockading borders that create civilian sufferings. so no, i don't accept it. i made the point to let you know that suicide attacks cannot be the reason for israel's illegal behaviour since they weren't happening when israel started stealing palestinian land. the rockets weren't being launched back then. or are you saying that israel knew that in 40 years, palestinian militants would start shooting homemade rockets and that's why they started spreading the illegal settlements? certainly not. i have always condemned any illegal action. why can't you?

the failed afghanistan campaign is certainly nothing i support. it's a suicide mission and canada is figuring this out and that's why they're pulling out. that said, the comparison makes no sense. canada and the US have not gone into afghanistan to annex their land and call it canada or US. israel has been annexing land that doesn't belong to them, as according to international law. just last week, there was a suicide attack in afghanistan that killed afghani children walking to school. do you see palestinians blowing each other up? canada or the US did not have a presence in afghanistan and only attacked after 9/11. israel has been increasing the illegal settlements for decades and occupying the region for decades. there are so many other issues that makes the 2 situations so much different from each other and makes no sense to try to compare the two.

the first suicide attack in israel was in the 1990's and i'm not aware of any beheadings. the occupation and the systematic annexation of palestinian land has been happening for close to 5 decades by israel. the protests have been made and in 1967, a new, defined border was set. why are you still making excuses?

what are you talking about? are you seriously trying to equate the 2 situations? i had no idea that there was something like the internationally recognized 1967 border that canada had with the aboriginals.
