It's ridiculous to justify your right to a land because of what some book says.. What if some other guy's book says something else?

I know that there are some people people on this forum who are condescending towards immigrants (Mr.Canada) and it sickens me.. To me, immigrants are as Canada as any other; in fact, this country was somewhat built by immigrants, so what gives? Apparently, some people think that the citizenship card doesn't really mean much anymore.. I take quite a lot of pride as a Canadian to know that we are very libertarian and friendly towards immigrants.

That's what I believe.. I can only believe that if there is a God out there, he doesn't mess around (or cannot) mess around with free will - and there is enough evidence for this. Perhaps free will was some form of pre-existing chaos which was there before the beginning of the universe. In our universe, nothing can come out of nothing, so there must have been a first cause. Some sort of creator would be the supernatural first cause, and it had the ability to act outside of the laws of our universe. But you are right, in this case, religion may be irrelevant. That opens up another can of worms, do we get saved like the Christians say? Does this creator even care about us?

Mostly because our policy is the same as the American policy. But you know what? It's pretty much true, we don't have much individual influence in the Mideast, but does that stop us from having a stance on it? We are part of the west and I'm pretty sure most of our governments have a stance on it

Tell that to the author of this thread.. Besides, at least Canada is part of the G7, they have the ability to be a presence. I'm sure when North Korea v.s. South Korea was going on, nobody really thought that Canada had a presence either..

It's very simple.. French Guyana is a French COLONY. It is administrated by the French and so whatever the French people do, French Guyana will do. Therefore, if France is in the EU, so is the French Guyana. On the other hand, Madagascar was a former French colony - now it is independent. Since it is independent from France, it does not dwell in same privileges as the French people do. Canada is a FORMER colony and it is now independent, why would we join the EU? Are you saying that we are still dominions of the British?

Yeah, that makes me think about the authenticity of the Bible though.. Think about it, how can we be so sure that the message is at its original state? Think especially of how the Romans got hold of the Bible and Christianity, they could have twisted the text in any way they wanted and it wouldn't have been a very hard task to do..

That reminds me.. I once saw a video on youtube ( ) of a crow taking a cat as its own.. If two species who are inherently at odds with each other are able to do this.. How come the Israelis and Palestinians cannot?

I'd say that life begins whenever conscientiousness begins.. But I also fail to see how abortion = socialism..

Good point.. Another thing that strikes me is how underestimate the notion of living forever. I don't even believe that according to Christianity, the dilemma ends when you go up to heaven. I believe in fallen angels, look at what happened to Lucifer for example. He was struck with the dilemma and he was sent to hell. So living for an eternity with this dilemma must be tiresome would it not?

Well, that isn't what I was talking about. People aren't afraid of someone because he is black or slightly more beige than themselves.. They may be afraid of browner skinned citizens because they may be radical Islamic terrorists or something.. Therefore, they are really afraid of different cultures, not skin colours.. Still ignorant, but people are stupid sometimes..

Thank you, I couldn't have said it better. That is 100% my stance on this.. Why should Canada support either side? Helping one side destroy another side is not keeping the peace. We have to retain our neutrality as an arbitrary peace keeper - and it is true, Israel's retaliation on Hamas is way out of control.

Those ARE French colonies.. not FORMER. That means that they are still acting under the authority of the French. I didn't know that Madagascar was part of the European Union..

Multiculturalism is generally a good thing.. As long as you remain loyal to Canada and abide by our laws, I don't see a problem with it. This is a nation where people are truly minding their own businesses - that makes us more libertarian than most countries. If you are an immigrant, you could consider yourself a pure Canadian or an Arab-Canadian, I could really care less - just don't disturb the peace. Do we really need a monogamous supreme culture? The social contract is fulfilled, all of our citizens have stripped away some of their natural rights in order to live in our society. And you know what? We are relatively living in peace.
