For drinkin whiskey I like that cheap stuff there, that "Fussy Pussy".

Glad to see you've got your options

I completely agree and I blame the judge, first of all for turning this case into a media freak show, and secondly for delivering this inappropriate sentence.

I like scotch but it doesn't like me. Have tried some of the finer ones, like Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. Also recently tried some Irish whiskey- Jameson- it really doesn't like me!

Just to be clear, when I said liberals, I didn't mean liberal as in political party. I myself have voted liberal quite a few times, and I would never vote for the likes of Stephen Harper. I'm talking more about philosophy.

How does it solve any problem, that life imprisonment doesn't already solve.

Because the immoralist relativist believes that there is no abolute definition of right and wrong, and the only thing that matters is what suits your personal preference. This is seen in many ways in our western liberal society, in the media, in movies, on TV. In songs. In clothing styles, and in the attitude towards family life. --> Aside from the fact that we could expose a legion of manifest deviations from "common decency" in the hands of conservatives quite easily--and no doubt you're 100% aware of this I am 100% aware that that the biggest challenge in almost every debate and problem in society is finding the appropriate balance between the two seemingly opposite viewpoints. Conservatism left unchecked leads to harsh rules imposed in a theocracy. The question always must be, where to draw the line. --> in what other ways does it have to do with "liberals"? ("Quite a lot," you posited...so, what else?) Not necessarily a number, but an extent. In the things I just wrote, the permissiveness, the porn. Sex and horror were this mans gods. Considering he already plead guilty there is no need to delve into every detail and expose it fully and graphically to the public. It does not further the case. Arguments that it will keep him locked up longer are pure horseshit, not substantiated by other similar cases. Promoting these visually disturbing images can only give others like him a rise.

What does this have to do with "liberals" again? Quite a lot. But I bolded the main point for you.

System Clock screwed up again
Sir Bandelot replied to charter.rights's topic in Support and Questions
Since the clock was incorrectly set AHEAD of time, now that it is fixed any new posts are being shown as several hours back. In other words, they don't seem to show on the New Content list, presumably until real time goes beyond the posts that were made when the clock was wrong. If you know what I mean -
This has become a sad travesty, especially for victims families, but also for the military. The courts should impose a publication ban. Although, it is too late for what has already been released. The judge should be reprimanded for his lack of foresight into the impact of the case on the general public. Welcome to "freedom of expression", and freedom of information. Freedom is not worth what people think it is, when it is unrestrained by common decency. Nor is it healthy for the general public to know everything about such horrific and sick individuals as this. Do you think that this guy is the first one ever to be so sadistic and evil, as he is? Hardly. But previously, we were spared the gory details and full colour graphics. Liberals, how do you like that with your morning coffee? Did any of your little kids get to see these pictures, and ask questions? How would you answer that. This just shows what whores we have become, for the buck. If money us all that really matters to these folks, revoke your subscription.

That doesn't seem to be the case at this point in time. The military acknowledged it cannot do anything about Williams's pension and he is entitled to it unless the government takes steps to strip him of it. It would be up to the federal government to enact legislation, for example, said Brig.-Gen. Neville Russell, director general of air personnel. The military would not play a role in the pension issue and has no way of removing the pension, he said. CBC News

Couldn't agree more. I am purposely avoiding looking at these pictures, by not opening any links that may show them. Freak show, for freaks.

Well to be fair it seems that he was able to conceal his alternate persona from all those around him. Where criminals are concerned, the most sneaky ones are often highly intelligent. And there can be little doubt that someone who achieves the rank of colonel would be fairly intelligent. Much like your analogy to Hannibal Lector in the movie, he was an evil killer but also a genius. Such people do exist, apparently. I doubt that he ever showed up for roll call dressed in drag.

It doesn't matter if a man is raised by a woman, what matters is that he must struggle and suffer to develop toughness. The male nature will then come out. In our society we have removed too many barriers and made life too easy, that is the real problem. Compared to other societies where harshness and mean spiritedness is the norm, and people, men and women need to learn to fend for themselves. That's why we are become too soft. Not, because of efforts of promoting equality. Not an apparent problem in small towns and rural communities. There you'll find men are still men, for what that's worth. It's really a problem in the big cities. The so-called metrosexuals...

The gather of the Ontario Libs
Sir Bandelot replied to Topaz's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The reactionary vote can sometimes be even worse than maintaining status quo, if it's based on emotionalism rather than policy. Let's hope that will not be the case. The way to correct it is to replace Dalton with another figure before it's too late, and say all the nice things like "hope... change..." -
Canadian Seat on U.N. Security Council
Sir Bandelot replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm saying, the decision was political (of course!) but I think it has to do with maintaining a balance of power. There's probably nothing Canada could have said or done at this point, to persuade them to vote in our favour. -
Canadian Seat on U.N. Security Council

Old Europe is a GWB reference that enraged the Europeans at the time he said it, but it basically means the central European powers. -
Canadian Seat on U.N. Security Council
Sir Bandelot replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada is seen to be very much in the pocket of the United States, thereby making us a parrot voicing primarily US interests, which are sometimes contrary to the interests of "old Europe".
