  1. Why did you burn the American flag on the 4th of July in Baghdad?
  2. You have been here a long while, and ave over 12000 posts. I'd say you're pretty enthused...
  3. "Why Canadians are turned off politics" The childish bickering, name calling, and polarization of views makes us sick.
  4. Sickening. How could you. You swine
  5. I'm more than happy to place blame on either party for their cheap trick politics, but can we at least have an article a bit more recent than January 2006?
  6. "Why Canadians are turned off politics" The Tory attack ads are another good example why.
  7. "To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Van Flein said in a statement. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law." McCain didn't rule out a return to politics for his former running mate, saying Saturday he believes "she will continue to play an important leadership role in the Republican Party and our nation." He gave no other details. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31737517/ns/po...-more_politics/ Quite a long list of groups she is threatening to sue. But regardless of that, I think she's toasted herself again, politically. Even McCain can't figure her out. I think the GOP would be wise to distance themselves from her, she seems to be an unpredictable loon. Whoops, I wouldn't want to add Mapleleafweb to her list of sites...
  8. It's very easy to hide the truth from people who ignore the facts, and won't see what truth is.
  9. Argus, You are talking about lying, I'm talking about playing up to peoples emotions. Anyone, even intelligent people can be fooled by a good liar. If someone says one thing, and then does another, who is to blame, the voters? Only in that they believed what someone said. There is an expectation of honesty, at least the first time around. In regards to this ad, I seriously doubt any normal person, be they left or right wing, or other, would support allowing child molesters to go free. The idea that this ad would change anyones opinion about the CPC (for the better at least) is stupid. People do not go for the cheap shots like they used to. This alludes to the thread, why people are dis-interested in politics. Such ads actually make the CPC look bad and benefit their opposition more.
  10. This ad is offensive in political nature, implying that the Bloc would allow this man to abuse children, which is utterly ludicrous. The problem with the Tories is that they frequently underestimate the intelligence of Canadians... perhaps because of their constituency.
  11. In a way I see your point, but then again its also arguable that even though a party defends the right to use marijuana, none of the party membership should be smoking it, or posting videos of themselves toking at a party or whatever. They have a certain public image to maintain. Another analogy is that while its not illegal to get drunk, party members should not be drunk while in public giving speeches, or post videos of themselves getting shitfaced. It would not be "helpful" for a party member to stand at the podium blown out of their minds on pot, baggy eyes all red and saying, "yeah man, legalize... wait I forgot... oh yeah, free munchies..."
  12. Happy 4th of July. I heard there were some fireworks, over in North Korea for you today...
  13. If she wanted to take a run at the white house, why couldn't she finish her term in 2010? That would give her more legitimacy as a leader who sticks to it, not this which looks like cutting and running. And she's wining about how the press treat her unfairly. I agree to some extent, but she also gives them plenty of ammo to have fun with, which sells tabloids. Her exit speech was very strange, she seemed extremely excited and spoke quickly. But maybe thats normal for her. Why wasn't she clear about her intentions, instead of leaving this impression of secrecy? That only fuels the conspiracy theorists and creates more tabloid gossip. Her style makes her vulnerable and does not help her come across, as someone to be taken seriously. She also chose late on a Friday afternoon to make the announcement, a time thats often used to help bury the story a bit, over the weekend.
  14. Actually no one has to say anything bad about Sarah Palin. All we have to do, is let her speak about current news, politics, or geography. The idea of marketing Palin is to get her to shut up.
  15. Maybe she just needs to get back to her knitting.
  16. I believe he did say publicly that he deeply regretted it, and apologized. Therefore it was not taken out of context.
  17. You're welcome to read the whole article in the link provided. Read it and weep, bro
  18. What, because you think Crispy Creems are better? Let the donut wars begin...
  19. A few million dead gooks would be inclined to disagree. Estimates of civilian deaths caused by American bombing in Operation Rolling Thunder range from 52,000 to 182,000. Although most researchers of war history puts the civilian toll closer to 4 million. Complete statistics for the 1972 bombings are unavailable. Overall figures for North Vietnamese civilian dead range from 50,000 to "several million." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War_casualties
  20. That seems to make sense. In any case it will be good for Canada, but could be another nail in the coffin for the USA.
  21. Wrong, but the comment by Peter Mackay is still out of line, and can be used against the CPC. Thats stupidity
  22. These sort of comments from CPC supporters, and the politicians themselves will help to ensure that they never get a majority.
  23. Ahmedinejad should have been there to take notes.
  24. People will vote when there is somebody worth voting for, and only then.
