  1. Admit it, you would really like to do that, wouldn't you
  2. Oh oh, bobsie twins are both out to get me. No doubt I have rubbed their slimy scales the wrong way... See, it's people like you who give a good reason, why global warming denial SHOULD be against the law. If we didn't want to do it, we shouldn'a signed it, laddie. Try to do that when you go to the bank and take a loan, singing a contract that you agree to pay the interest. Then go back later and say you no longer agree. You know what will happen? Then it's off to jail you go. But not with these guys, it's their "democratic privilege". Gentlemen, Justified...
  3. Did he say this? Limbaugh: "Obama is holding his own against both of them--doing more than his share of the spade work. Maybe even gaining ground at the moment. Using not only the spade ladies and gentleman---that when he finishes with the spade in the garden of corruption planted by the Clinton's, he turns to the hoe. And so the spade work and his expertise using a hoe." Here's some: http://newsone.com/obama/top-10-racist-limbaugh-quotes/ I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller). I looked up a few of the quotes online, seems real.
  4. I'm saying, we initially agreed to Kyoto, now we make noises like we don't want to, but we want to make a different agreement. Thats the problem with parliamentarianism... no accountablility and no truly binding contracts. If the next batch of lawmakers have a different idea than the previous one, they rewrite the laws, cancel the agreements and off they go doing something else. When the time comes tha we are no longer taken seriously by other countries, we should know why it is.
  5. I could believe that, if not for McCrystals own comments that even with the 80,000 it may not prevent the eventual outcome, Taliban and their supporters will be running the country. If this is what he actually said, it undermines the argument for the need for a surge.
  6. You know thats not true, otherwise why would I even bother with these posts? They died, I give a damn. It would be easier to accept if their death was for something worthwhile. Maybe it will be worthwhile, we shall see. The dogs are not done uhnting yet. But chief doggy dog is making sounds like he wants to go home now.
  7. Yes, true but if that is in fact the actual objective, and this mission fails, then maybe a different approac to the problem is needed. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.
  8. U.S. Afghan commander set to ask for 80,000 more troops By The Associated Press, cbc.ca, Updated: October 14, 2009 The top military commander in Afghanistan is asking for up to 80,000 more American troops, according to U.S. officials. A still-secret document by U.S. Gen. Stanley McChrystal that requests more troops is expected to be among the topics discussed Wednesday when President Barack Obama meets with his national security team to hash out a strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Even with additional troops, McChrystal concluded that government corruption in Afghanistan could still let the country turn back into a haven for terrorists, according to officials at the Pentagon and White House. Big number. If this is true, then either - This commander can't make up his mind how many he really needs - The situation is far worse than we are led to believe, and is deteriorating rapidly - There is no way to win. We will join the long line of empires that got bogged down in Afghanistan. and if anything proves the old adage, that war is hell. That last line I quoted, about corrupt government should make everyone sit up and take notice. The election utterly failed, despite our best efforts and it wasn't even the Taliban who did it! Not only that, it undermines the democratic ideology that we are so proud of promoting, throughout the entire region. This is a quagmire, a bleepin quagmire...
  9. You make a deal, you break a deal, you try to make another deal... Only a fool wouldn't walk out on that
  10. The calendar is in fact carved into the shape of a wheel, so it's obvious that the idea was that it's a cycle. Their remarkable calendar included many different intervals, including part of the cycle of planet Venus, and it is apparently a very accurate calendar, able to "work" in a repeated cycle for thousands of years with only minimal error. Unlike ours which seems to need constant adjustments, leap year, and those extra seconds of no-time we keep adding between 11:59:59 and 12:00:00 on new years eve. There is evidence that they had an excellent understanding of astronomy, and knew about the phases of Venus, and possibly about complex solar cycles. It's said that one of their elders prophesied the end of their culture, when a white devil comes across the sea on a floating island (Cortez?). Who knows how they understood it, apparently they ate lots of magic mushrooms. To me it seems that 2012 is just a really big, big, Mayan new years eve. The rest is just foolishness meant to be a distraction for movie goers
  11. One other thing- I was kinda surprised at what jbg wrote. I didn't realize he was quite such a bigot. Maybe he's not, and just had a bad morning. However if I were him I would take a good look at the company he's keeping here, I mean look at those who've come out to defend his views. I would not want these people defending mine. And when jbg asks: Why Do Inane Threads Catch Fire and Good Ones Die? The answer should be clear to him. Because most of us do not support such bigotry!
  12. For the record, I do not have any hate or anger towards Jews, nor Zionists. I used the word zionists in my post, instead of jews, because jbg used the word zionists in his subtitle. Nor did I anywhere in the post, or at any time ever to my knowledge expressed disdain for Jews. Any criticism in my post was directly solely at jbg. I say this only because such generalizations disgust me. Other than that, I applaud what you said.
  13. "The amendment would also give judges discretion in awarding pre-sentencing credits, and would require an explanation for their decision." Aye, there's the rub. Let the judges judge. Not blanket decisions by some backbencher, once upon a time.
  14. I see, so your message is that you believe muslims are barbarians, and zionists are civilized. So muslims are the untermensch, compared to zionists. I guess these muslims don't count: Abdus Salam: Pakistani. Winner of Nobel Prize in Physics in 1979 Ahmed Zewail: Egyptian. Winner of Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1999 Farouk El-Baz: Egyptian. NASA scientist involved in the Apollo moon program Essam Heggy: Egyptian-Libyan. Planetary scientist in NASA's Mars exploration program Lotfi Asker Zadeh: Iranian. Mathematician and computer scientist, founder of fuzzy logic, which recognizes more than simple true-or-false values. Used in artificial intelligence applications and some spell-checkers to suggest replacements for misspelled words Habiba Bouhamed Chaabouni: Tunisian. Medical geneticist, winner of 2006 UNESCO Women in Science Award They could be dangerous. Maybe we should make them wear armbands, eh jbg?
  15. What exactly is your point here? You waiting for, applause or something? "Hooray for the Jews, down with Muslims." There, feel good now?
  16. My head is out of the sand... in fact I completely agree with every point you made! Although, in-fighting and lack of democracy is the way they all run now. My earlier comment, was about the perception in the general pubic. Maybe the Liberals could still make it work one more time with a new leader, I don't know, but they've dropped the ball three times now, and usually thats the end of the game. I said it recently, the best thing is for the Liberal party to go the way of the PC's, political annihilation, make room for a new Liberal party to be created, with all new members. Away with the old boys club, its no longer useful. But they won't kill it, and its a bad thing for Canada. So Canadians need to do it, at the voting booth.
  17. The only reason Canadians don't want an election, is because the Liberal party is without true leadership. When a real Liberal comes along as leader for that party, Canadians will want an election as soon as possible.
  18. To my mind the Senate is exercising their legal rights, as they should. The fact that the person gets "2 for 1" is also an impetus for the courts, to move their asses and get some work done, not leave people languishing in jails without a trial. So this is the idea behind 2 for 1, move it or lose it. The Senate represents the conscience of Canada, and if it is Liberal dominated, it's because Canada is Liberal dominated as is clear throughout our political history. Thats what we are and thats what most people want. Those politicians who are having a hissy fit over this rotten bill, need to get over it. Take a vacation, from yourself
  19. Once everyone has calmed down a little we can look at this in a different light. I think the award was not given for his accomplishments so far (obviously) but more because of his inspiration. His fancy speeches in Europe and Cairo, especially where he is talking about a new beginning between muslims and the United States, and his clear statements that the US is committed to eliminating all nuclear weapons. Ok, so its just a bunch of words. Point is, it's about the ideas it puts in other peoples heads. Since Obama has the attention of pretty much the whole world, does this inspire people to learn to put aside some of their differences, and treat each other with more love and respect? This would be at the grass roots level, not money collected on a stage by a superstar. --- Next problem: Obama has a big decision to make, in the next few days or weeks. "To surge, or not to surge". Will this award affect that decision? I think it could. Man is awarded the Nobel peace prize, then declares an escalation in the war in Afghanistan? Being in Obamas shoes right now, just became a tougher place to be. They still have the right to self-determination. Cooperation does not mean having to give up self-determination. In this case, its about economics, whether they want to join the EU.
  20. "Better to be thrown accolades, than shoes..."
  21. I don't believe it's a soft-on-crime stance. It can be argued, with some evidence. that there is no need to get tougher on crime than we are now, as we all know crime rates have been falling for years. If thats true then the growth of the prison industry is in jeopardy, prisons may become empty hence the need to keep them in longer. -> Everything the Liberals do now is being looked at through the prism of Ignatieff's (non) leadership. The MSM has many different viewpoints depending on where the money is coming from. I say he will fail because Canadians don't like his style of leadership, and perceive a hidden right wing agenda. I believe that Ignatieff will ultimately go down in flames, maybe worse than Dion, only he doesn't have a heckler in his own party ridiculing him on camera, behind his back. This golden boy was trucked in to do a job, but I doubt he can live up to it. Best that he leave and go home again soon, so the Liberal party can rebuild. Major work required.
  22. How ridiculous. This will only undermine their reputation. Nobel peace prize is more about politics. This man became president, just barely two weeks before the nomination deadline. He gave some pretty speeches, He's also continuing the war in Afghanistan considering ramping it up even, and threatening war to other countries like Iran. War on drugs, and all it associated violence still continues. 3 million Americans in prison, maybe 30 million with criminal records. Gitmo prisoners still in limbo. He hasn't done anything yet, just a lotta talk. Sounds like a man of peace alright...
  23. Tax hikes? Just the thought of it makes me  Thats all we consumers need. Ignatieff might as well slit his own throat now, to save everybody some time.
  24. I'm talking about perceptions by black youth. The facts you quote is entirely beside the point. I say thats how it's been hyped up and thats what some of them probably believe. -> Go play your violin somewhere else. aww, your such a tough guy. Sorry but I like it here. Oh yeah, think I'll stay a while...
  25. A timely message, that reinforces my point (splashed across the front headline of CNN webpage) Wilson GOP rock star after 'You lie' Like it or not, agree with him or not, the media is the message. And I say that message for black youth now is, a black man gets no respect, even as the President of the United States. So whats the point in trying
