  1. Never believe or trust a man who can't write more than one sentence or ever think they are smarter than you.
  2. yesterday I read a articule in our local paper how Harper is going to give Washington reglatory control over the oilsands. http://www.edmontonsun.com/Comment/2008/11...428636-sun.html Seems this was agreed on in the SPP. So I did a little bit more reading to find it also makes Canadian water a communal resource, and forces Canada and Mexico to adopt the USA's security policies. A few episodes on BNN have aired analysts and brokers who talk of the AMERO wich will be our new currency. The New Democratic Party has also criticized SPP for being undemocratic, not open to Parliament, and opaque [16]; New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton described the process as not simply unconstitutional, but "non-constitutional," held completely outside the usual mechanisms of oversight. Some thirty US-based organizations also sent an open letter to Congress on April 21, 2008 criticizing the secrecy and lack of any sort of democratic oversight.
  3. When a home drops $100,000 meaning I can work 10 less years to pay it off. Gas drops 40 cents/litre at the pump = 1 less day a week i need to work these are the best of times
  4. Difference is all those other industry's they bailed out produce food a necessity for us to live, Auto's on the other hand are not. What I rather see is money put towards educating these workers , like it or not things are going to change and soon we will have a bunch of unskilled workers capable of what monkeys can do.
  5. thankfully I am not a Auto worker. As a Job steward though for the union, it is my resposibility to take interest outside my jury. What I have come to understand is the unions have created a scene where your ability in sucess is not determined by your skills or work ethic. I hear it all the time my members tell me " you can't do nothing, you can't lay me off!" even though I see them sit and do nothing all day long. And sad thing is they are right I am forced to file greivence on their behalf and waste the members money's with lawyers , and dispute resolutions when we already have a system in place Called labour relations or human rights. these costs are then carried on to the Contractors and clients and in return it is the consumer who pay's the piper for some lazzy do nothing. This hurts everyone, even higher wages, as eventually it all gets passed on and those most effected are the onse that can't afford it . I would never buy a car that is union made.
  6. Sadly, I feel the same. Canadian soldiers have shed allot of blood of inocent civillians, they have a right to be mad and seek revenge.
  7. Unions also encourage this as they use member's money's called MERF funds
  8. This comes from my union Benefits plan: A MEMBER IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS UNDER THE PLAN IF HE/SHE: -is on vacation or the annual christmas break. - Refuses work under the jurisdiction of the local %#$ -is recieving benefits under: - workers compensation plan - canada pension plan -old age security or -any local %$# retirement or disability plan -members with "recall date" or expectation of returning to and employer - Leave of absence, Sickness/disability, compasion leave, parental/Maternity leave. * I PERSONALLY THINK THESE UNIONS ARE SCUM! WE PAY OUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR BENEFITS AND THEY PUT ALL THESE RESTRICTIONS ON US SO WE CANNOT COLLECT. LIKE CHRISMAS BREAK COME ON! SOMETHING HAPPENS AT A TIME A YEAR WE ARE TO SHOW COMPASION ADN IF YOU GET INJURED OR SOMETHING YOU GET NO BENEFITS, OR YOUR SICK OR CAN'T WORK YOUR REFUSED. I looked into getting my own benefits and I found with Sunlife I can pay less and I will always be garanteed to be able to use them when needed.
  9. I don't think unions serve any sort of purpose at all in this day and age. And thats coming from a long standing brother.
  10. learn to read. not once did I mention Chinamen. I lived in Edmonton when Smith and Reimer ran this city and it was awsome! we did not experience these problems we now have. They knew how to manage growth and the people benefited. To also think a city can run on just municipal funding is ludacris takes involvement from the provincial governmet to make any great city work.
  11. A very scary article in today's Sun: http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/Edmo...45506-sun.html This is what we get from 30 years of Torie rule. - 2nd largest murder capital of Canada - 1st in most dangerous roads to drive What 30 years of Torie power has drove this Capital city of alberta into the ground. Is this what you want to happen to your country? Our infastructure is crumbling cutts are made to our scoial programs, housing has doubled, Rapid inflation. As citizens and taxpayers we have not benefited from Torie rule one bit. over heated employment has caused disasters on our homes, contractors are paying rediculous wages and we spend more money bringing in unqualified foreign workers who further the burden on our already failed infustructure. Growth has been disasterous for us albertans. And the fact our largest industry the oilsands is scraping top soil to ship raw bitumen and jobs out of the country is good for no taxpaying citizen, we are looking at our commitment to reclaim our lands and are finding we have dug a hole we cannot afford .,what we are leaving for our future generations is a toxic pit of waste no industry or people will ever strive in again. Reminds me of those businesses corperations like to run into the ground.
  12. With tories in power my town (or city) has become 2nd murder capital of Canada. Gangs and drugs have never been worse in all history. almost seems like they create all this chit so they can say they will have something to crack down on. the more I think about it their platform is nothing but a sham!
  13. No expert on this but what about discriminatory practice?
  14. Dion said today his party will challenge all torie bills
  15. well first off. you would need to bring challenge in forth to the courts. and have a petition, think its a minimum of 10,000 signatures
  16. you do have a point there If these party's are then wasting our taxpayers money's running ads and stuff they should be held accountable and have to repay everthing in advertising if they are spending it on things that hold no value
  17. Ok then we have political party A and political party B Party A has $100 dollars and does its best to door to door canvas party B has $100,000,000 they pay for advertising, analysts and people to digg up dirt on their competator they run attack adds and offer free coffee and donuts for everyone to come listen to them speak wich party will attract most voters?
  18. A senior after 40-50-60 years of working should be able to afford to look after themself. I stuggle sometimes to make a mortgage payment when the senior owns a home ouright. I lived on macaroni to put myself through school and have a debt i am still paying on when I see the older people eating the keg. they have money to gamble in the stocks I stuggled to even put socks on my feet. They can afford to drink fine wine when I resort to drinking TNT beer or brew it myself. Seniors are in way better position should they have health costs I cannot afford to miss a day's work they can sit back and tour the country in their motorhomes. What makes you think we are in any better position should something happen, if I break my leg I am screwed alot of seniors can afford to do nothing and sit back let that leg heal.
  19. lets say there are two company A and B , both sell Jello Company A has $100 to work with and cannot afford advertising or the best of mangment you got company B that has $100,000,000 to play with and they can advertise on t.v and the papers etc, they also hire the best of the best managment. they even go so far to pay people to dig up dirt on the competator and convey that propoganda. now honestly who do you think will have record sales?
  20. I am not against a NAU but I would like to see the USA pay off that $10 trillion debt that is something I do not want to inherit. Also joining with mexico, I visited their and wow are they ever trashy I don't want to see our standards seek that low.
  21. Also want to point out like what Dad will do seniors can double dip they collect a pension and still collect wages working. These seniors are lauphing all the way to the bank
  22. I don't know...... propoganda can be a very powerful how do you convey a platform when your not given the same opertunity's?
  23. I know last Alberta provincial election every other party had maybe 5% the funds to work with than what the tories had you could not move 5 feet with out seeing a torrie banner. I don't like the idea of corperate donations as it influences that party to base decisions on who can bribe with money's. What I would like to see is every party given the same ammount of money to work with, this would make things more fair, and avoid the possibility of elites holding more influence in political agenda. If it means my tax payer money's I would be fine with it, if it creates a balanced system.
  24. I don't understand why people think seniors will be a burden and we will be forced to look after them. Dad retires next year and I know I will not need to look after him he has a good pension and saving I really cannot see him stop working these baby boomers are workaholics sitting at home would drive him nuts. As we advance life expectancy is going up and their is no reason a senior cannot contribute even if it is volunteer work, it will still offset some of the costs. with new technology's like the internet the disbabled or those that need to stay at home can still run businesses paying taxes. sure some might choose to be useless and not contribute to society but we have that in all age catagory's I feel if we can make some changes even the bigest burden of healthcare should have minimal impact. I work with guys that are 80 and still work hard labour better than allot of the young guys. I can see when they are that old like 90 or something becoming useless they should still have enouph money saved to look after themself. they have more money than we do
  25. I read in the paper today Investors have pulled out $30 billion in Alberta investments
