  1. Usually, a sentence conveys meaning... `tells' the reader something. Why do you tell us Khadr was shooting at Americans even after reading the sentence "He was found unarmed"? What part of "bang bang" don't you get? Oh, he threw the gun away~! eh!? Still Guilty!? You try to re-direct the conversation to something non-related, as far as a citizen's rights are concerned. Are you trying to Prorogue the thread and form a committee about current parenting practices in Canada? So Canadians don't start thinking about the monsters they're becoming?
  2. Let me be Clear: I blame Canada for not doing as she should of years ago. Both Liberal and Conservative governments have failed Omar Khadr over these years. CANADIANS have failed him. CANADIANS have failed to be what I thought them. I'm becoming much more refined in the number of fellow Canadians I like; there are far too many Babbling Baboons who think Omar deserves to have his life ruined, regardless of the facts.
  3. Hiss! Boo! How could the GG agree to this again? Is she a Blue Meanie too?! I don't recall Chretien using the `Prorogue' request as a Get-Out-Of-International-Jail-Free card!
  4. The lack of proper spelling and grammatical integrity... A Hallmark of an emotional Baboon. At this point, it's Canada's and Omar's father's fault, if we're still playing the irresponsible blame game; Omar's father for leaving him in bad company and Canada's for keeping bad company with international law breakers.
  5. It should say something to you. You keep trying to portray Omar as a combatant, as being in a "gunfight", blah blah blah. It might mean nothing to your blindly patriotic eyes but he was found unarmed and so have many innocent people. The Taliban like to surround themselves with innocent people. Heck, they even like to blow them up. So far, Canada has only purposely tortured some innocent people. Don't know about the US though... Seriously, AW, the way you try to shift the focus of this thread... Do you work for the CIA or the Bush family or just do part-time propaganda work for Karl Rove? Is Omar's mother living the "good life" in Canada? Really? Is "Canada not doing anything about parents who would go against international law"? Or are you just a baboon trying to play the wiser American, chastizing Canada for not being `tough enough' or isolationist enough. Are you suggesting a nation should do random audits of its parent's skills? Look to your own backyard first and imagine trying to impose such an idea. I agree, some people should never be allowed to raise kids, but those people are mostly white North Americans; the very same people who would never listen to a government that tried to tell them how to raise their kids. I imagine Omar might've benefitted from such a fascist state.
  6. Fascism: Social and Economic rigidity with the suppression of opposition. How was Paul Martin or the harmless Bill Graham fascist?
  7. If we are party to fascist tactics, like Peter MacKay and Harper would like us to be, we are no better than those we fight against in Afghanistan.
  8. You're right, I shouldn't expect you to be embarrassed for your country these days. Canada's governing structure isn't mature enough to be part of these missions yet. We're, once again, punching above our weight. But we've let the bullies write the story this time... No worries, I doubt whether history will take notice of the Harpers and MacKays. It's so much more important to win the hearts and minds of humans but Canada's become distracted by the petty politics that Harper and MacKay have played. They're so desperate to be Americans; why can't they just move to Texas and leave us alone?
  9. Who's "us"? (seriously kid, you should question your assumptions about what you think is "us") I wouldn't mind those interfering with Omar's justice dead, but I'm not gonna be so arrogant as to claim myself above the law like some of his accusers.
  10. Ummm.... we're talking about 2006, right?
  11. No, you "Come on." Are you embarrassed?
  12. MacKay is so representative of the new generation of bully in the caucasian Canadian; ever so innocent, yet a blue meanie beneath the surface. He ignored Colvin on purpose. He and Harper are what's wrong with student government in Canada these days; globally stupid and relying on baboons to form their talking points. MacKay should be tried for treason, lying to his country like that.
  13. Apologists for this, be damned. MACKAY should be fired for indirectly endorsing the torturing of potentially innocent friggin' farmers. MacKay has made Canada no better than the Taliban. And, yes, we do need three seperate threads about this. Makes it harder to ignore!
  14. Sounds like Khadr might be moved to a courthouse on US soil. Hope he doesn't blow the place up!!! Only a Baboon would think he would.
  15. Mr. Halton Hills, if you enjoy wine, you'll re-think your privatization opinion on this matter. The LCBO brings in more tax dollars and offers more selection for the lowest price than ANY private booze palace could EVER DREAM OF. Wake up and understand that Ontario residents treat their spirits as sacred!
  16. I guess it's just a personal fantasy that our forces would do the right thing...
  17. ... Getting back to the point of this thread, the `Afghan detainee issue' is disgusting. What Peter MacKay has done, by ignoring Richard Colvin and other's warnings years ago, has ruined much of the effort to win hearts and minds and has put our troops at even greater risk. Taliban once put their injured in the paths Canadian convoys were known to travel, knowing they would be treated humanely when picked up. This reputation effectively caused dissention in Taliban forces; why would they continue shooting at the people who were saving their comrades lives? Some would think twice about shooting at Canadian Forces or planting an IED along their path. Probably not anymore though. Canada is now known to quietly endorse the torturing of their comrades. Heck, our government doesn't even care if they're guilty or just Afghan farmers in the wrong place at the wrong time! Let the Afghan Police pull out the detainees fingernails, just in case... Next, Harper's thugs will try to pin this on a few `bad apples' within the Canadian Forces instead of looking in the mirror.
  18. Please have your shovels ready when you step up to the plate and come to the table, there's plenty of BS to deconstruct.
  19. The Lefties believe in proper spelling and a conservative use of the word "and".
  20. So, what's happening? Is the Kangaroo Court still in session or is Canada gonna grow up and deal with its own citizen?
  21. If there are "many Canadians who are upset", they haven't been very vocal over these last 7 years. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963 There are far too many Canadians who don't care about Justice for Omar. It's almost like the Germans who lived beside the concentration camps but didn't pay no mind because it wasn't them being gassed; too many complacent Canadians have half-consciously watched as Canada devolved into a torturing and child-abusing nation lately.
  22. Oleg, you're wrong wrong wrong! There are at least three thirty-somethings in Canada that I know of who don't have a fetish for American-style TV, have seen the glimmer of hope from the jewel that public broadcasting is, and are vigorously copulating to continue the crown corporation.
  23. I've begun to think of the difference between left and right, Liberal and Conservative, Democrat and Republican as the `Left' is more concerned with the community while the `Right' is more concerned with self-sufficiency. The Left wants to tax and build government structures to make the status-quo standard of living better. The Right wants to reduce government involvement and let the chips fall where they may. I personally think the lefties are wiser. But it does make things more costly.
