  1. I was not able to watch the interview, I will watch the re-run later today. I did see the Jane Taber comments. Yes she did acknowledged that Harper did very well, which surprized me. Normally she is pro Liberal, (at least that is what I hear and she). I caught that as well. That is more like the Jane Taber I know. My opinion is more in line with yours and I too have a hard time understanding him many times. Sometimes I am left wondering what it was he was talking about. Yea, I pretty much said the same thing as he spoke. It is funny sometimes to watch. I mean these guys are smart, why do they not come up with something different. I think the "I am applying for the job" and the "kitchen table" is getting old already. OK, I agree... Yea, I don't know if these guys think we are stupid or something but all the people I talk too say the something. Craig Oliver is not the only one doing it. It's all over the media. They like to think they are non-basis, but they are not. Most of them push their own views, you can see right through it. Jane Taber will be flying with the Liberals, (I am not surprised). I wonder if she will report on the fact that the Liberals are using a plane that completely goes against Dion's so called principles. If that is not a story worth reporting then what is? It will get very little time in the media.
  2. The interviews were only interesting with Harper and Layton.
  3. I agree that some of the media are not being as negative towards Harper as a "default"; however, there are a lot of the reporters out there that are still very negative towards him. For an example, the election has just started today and already the media is using the word majority. There is no poll that currently reports majority, yet the media are saying Harper wants a majority; Harper is doing this because he thinks he can get a majority. This, even when Harper himself said publicly that he thinks there will be another minority. So the media is putting words in Harpers mouth.
  4. I too was not very impressed with Dion's comments about being the underdog. It sounds like he sees himself as weak. As for the negative opinions against Harper, I understand the opposition parties having negative opinions they are his opposition. What I don't like, is how negative the media are against him. It is the main reason why he doesn't scrum with them, which they also complain about. If they treated all parties equal then I am sure Harper would scrum with them more often. I have to watch the media very carefully these days so I can read through the lines, as many times the lines are blurred.
  5. The Liberals of useing the "Green Shift" name that belongs to another Canadian company. http://speakyourmindeh.ca/viewtopic.php?f=...20&p=54#p54 Even when they makes changes to the shift that target farmers to so called "help" the farmers the Liberals get it wrong. Bottom line is that not all of Canada feels that Green Shift is good for Canada. In-fact I think most of Canada feels it is the wrong way to go. I do agree with you on one thing, the Green Shift will put us out in front of the rest of the world... at the un-employment line.
  6. I hate the way he uses this "roll up the sleves" look. He is trying to come off as a working man. But you never know, he may jump over Dion and become the offical opposition... I agree, Harper is the best leader Canada has had in a long long time. His leadership at the UN realy puts Canada front and center, right where we should be. He speaks well, I can understand him and relate. I think Harper has a very good understanding where Canada is heading. X for Harper.
  7. He may not be a god but he sure is a heck of a political strategist. He seems to be above all of the other leaders in strategy.
  8. I thought it was a god ad. It shows him as a family man. I can relat.
  9. Harper has been a hockey supporter for a long long time. If you read, watch or listen to the news you would know that. And he is a hockey dad, even as Prime minister he still finds time to get to his son's games. So he did'ny copy anybody.
  10. Schreiber is a joke. A joke where the punch line is old. If there was anything to be had the oppostion would be all over it. The truth is, the media dropped this a long time ago. Where the media goso do todays oppostion parties. All of them. Remember when it was +10 in Jan. and the opposition leaders were lined up out side of parliment waiting to be interviewed by the press "out side" in "January" in "short sleves" WOW what a story. It's the same thing here. No story, no opposition.
  11. What energy efficient cars? Are these jobs already created? so people will be OK or should they go to the un-employment line first and then retrain, (funding?) then hope they get one of these jobs? or... should we first create these energy efficient cars and slowly people migrate to these "new jobs". Or do we just cut are loses, stop all jobs in Canada and then look to China, India to help us out and wait for them to clean up their polution problems.
  12. I agree with you Moonbox. I see the Green Shift as just a really bad idea. It will shaft Canada and put us all in a bad position. No jobs=uneployment=crime=deadend.
  13. Yea, now that you mention it I have never seen them in the same room either. In-fact this is the first time I have ever heard them mentioned in the same in the same post. Hummmmmm...... I wonder if Jack Layton will be given any "free" stuff out during the election?
  14. And who will deside in the company are innovators in green change? How do we know if the change is green or not? Will companies have to apply for grants? from Who? will there be a board, (arm's length from government) that desides? With out some rules, AKA "tracks" the room for political gamesmenship is hugh! it's like open season... Friends and family first then some other token companies?
  15. That is very much a big part of the problem. "Dion Said", he turns to the left and says something and then turns to the right and says something else. I can never keep it straight. I am fearful of the hidden details of the "Green Shift".
  16. I am sure that after the writ is dropped, there will be more politicians retiring, it always happen. Some chose to retire on their own terms and some just get votted out. I think in Emerson's case he just wants to retire. The Consevatives offered him a safe seat and if he wanted to he would be re-elected.
  17. I have been reading a few details about the Ex-Liberal Blair Wilson. I am starting to see why he is an Ex-Liberal. I am starting to think that this is purely a poliyical move on the Greens part, one that may backfire on May.
  18. I agree there is some spending going on but I don't see a big spending spree. I also don't understand the "when it finds itself getting beat up politically" comment. The latest polls show Harper out in front with lots of Canadian support.
  19. What R&D? that's the problem. You have to have some R&D in the works now or all we will have is us paying taxes. I agree we have to change, in-fact the whole world has to change but Rome was not built in on "Green Shift". Slow the race down and lets lay down some track.
  20. I also welcome the green party to the house of commons. I think they have put in their dues. However, there is a problem, that is the Liberal/Green agreement to not run canidates in each of the two leaders riding. I don't like that, either you are with them or you appose them, but in politics you can't have them both. It will be interesting to see how the main stream media treat this. Will they let May in the debates or not? I heard two things today: The Green Party has hired a lawyer and the media were meeting today to discuss this. Have not heard anything on the second. May has scheduled a press confrence for Wed. to anouse the lawyers name.
  21. I don't think I agree, I have not heard how the Green Shift is going to help or hurt me. From what I have heard so far I believe it is a radical move and we don't a plan to transition. If we just take the big leap with out a proper plan we could find our country in trouble. Even today, Dion has stated that he has to make changes to the shift for rural farmers. Next it will be the auto industry because it is in trouble and then others will complain. Where will it end? I think a much better approach is to invest in innovation that will get us there. Once that happens the market will kick in and people will shift on their own.
