You could try answering the questions without defamatory comments. -

defamatory slam What do you call it? How did they get those territories? They don't have to move do they? Disenfranchised? How? And millions of others who have been displaced could go home. Are you acknowledging that those are the legal borders? defamatory slam Everybody deserves justice. -
Ontario Pushes Electric Cars as Auto Sector Boost

You are missing the point. These are city cars, not commuter cars. Just for us folks who have time to spare to putter about town doing our errands. Problem is, Ontario refuses to license them, because they don't want to have two sets of standards, and I think that sucks. -
Perhaps because most of us have rooted for Israel since we were born, and we expected better of Israel. It was horrifying and really disappointing to see them murder civilians and children so callously. It was a turning point for world wide perceptions of Israel, there is no question about that. And I'd like to see something better than denial and coverups too, but Canada is no country to be a judge of that, being in denial about its own genocide. Please reread what I said about white supremacist thinkers who may be infesting the board. There is no point discussing anything with those types who thrive on ethnic/racial hatred, particularly virulent against Jews. However, many of us are not haters, just horribly disappointed with Israel.

No one has suggested that. It's an exacerbation of an existing crime.

Then you are off topic because that's what we are talking about in this thread. We weren't talking about people "whose views we disagree with" but three racist goons and a hate attack on a black man. (Read the OP and stay on topic, please.) I have to say there are some people here with nnooooooooooooo sense of humour whatsoever. Recap: We are talking about hateful goons. Griz, with the authority of an Indigenous person, humourously said "deport them". We embellished it with an ice floe and french fries. It was obviously a joke: Who'd want those goons anyway? Every country in the world is multicultural now! Get a friggen grip folks! Laugh a little! Yer face won't crack! Hey Griz? Do you deport people for not having a sense of humour?

Thanks for pointing out that error. fixed

Ontario Pushes Electric Cars as Auto Sector Boost

Around 50k - fine for smaller city streets. There are streets I wouldn't take one on, where the commuters are gunning on or off the highway. I'm retired. I'm not in a hurry. And I belong to the largest demographic of retired people ever, and we want our cheap putt-a-bouts! I think we're going to have to protest for them, though. Watch out! Here come the raging grannies! beep beep! Horses and buggies are allowed on the road (with plates and a slow moving vehicle sign). Maybe we'll get horses to pull our EV buggies to Queens Park. Hiyo Silver! http://www.blogto.com/environment/2007/06/...t_them_sell_it/ Toronto Company Has Electric Car But Our Government Won't Let Them Sell It There is huge pent-up demand for these types of vehicles. Enviro-conscious consumers (growing by the numbers every day) are desperate for a cost-effective, realistic solution to help them curb vehicle emissions and the ZENN electric car, at a retail price of approximately $14,000 has the potential to be it. Unlike hybrid-vehicles, the ZENN electric car eliminates the need for petroleum completely and outside of high-end, impossible to get models like the Tesla Roadster is the best solution on the market. And from a Toronto-company to-boot! And if that's still not good enough consider the noise reduction that could result if electric cars were widely adopted. These vehicles are essentially silent. -
oooooo defamation ... Take your persecution complex and shove it where the sun don't shine, Argus. It's you we don't like. j/k Seriously, though, I'll be the first one to admit that there may be white supremacist types on here who hate everything Jewish, especially Israel. I know that. Your challenge, though, is to distinguish those half-brained clowns from the people who simply abhor Israel's recent and deadly attack on (-edit-) Gaza. We can hate the actions without being Jew haters or Israel haters. You don't help by making generalized put down statements like that.

Israel has to withdraw from the borders to allow an international safe zone. Then they can talk. They cannot talk while Gaza is under aggressive siege by Israel. -
It's not just about doing something nasty, but about what was done: Racial taunts and attacks attempt to exclude people from society by race. Those who attempt to exclude others should themselves be excluded. Of course, the 'deport on an ice floe with some Macdonalds fries' was a joke, but serves to illustrate the point: If you don't respect multicultural Canada, bugger off!

Point being ... if besieged, maritimers might be lobbing a few projectiles into US territory. When they are not besieged, they won't be. Stop the siege of Gaza, Israel's problem projectiles are solved. -
I think cultural differences are what we notice. For example, I'm the same 'race' as lictor, but his culture is entirely foreign to me. We speak the same 'language' but with entirely different meaning. And it's a mistake to assume that race or culture differences are hierarchical in any pre-determined way, though they are in practice in some places sometimes. We're just different. But white supremacists are a 'different' kind of different ... so you see I'm doing it too. omigod ... i'm prejudiced against white supremacists!

Quote of the week 'Once they get cold, they're nasty.' Chicago fast-food connoisseur JAMIE COX, 19, agrees with McDonald's plan to do away with its Super Size fries, but he still wants the big drink NORTH POLE Russia scrambled to rescue a group of 12 scientists doing climate research near the North Pole after their supplies and base camp sank when the ice floe collapsed beneath them. The floating research station, re-established with much fanfare a year ago, had traversed nearly 2,800 km of Arctic waters before it unexpectedly sank. oops! http://www.macleans.ca/world/global/articl...315_77219_77219

QUOTE (DogOnPorch @ Jul 17 2009, 07:31 PM) * If you're going to use an improbable analogy, tell me how it got to this state in the first place...the US besieging Canada. QUOTE (tango @ Jul 17 2009, 04:37 PM) * They decided they wanted a US settlement there. They want to control the St Lawrence and the Northwest Passage, wall off James Bay, reroute the rivers from Hudsons Bay to James, and pump the water south, claim international waters (and oil), among other things, say. -
Thanks Griz! We can send them the long way on a slow ice floe ... their own 'white nation'.

tit-for-tat, we could go on forever, and have. Call it a stalemate, which is what we have I think, Who has the power to withdraw to provide a zone of safety for all? Who has the power to defame? -

If Gaza was not blockaded and under seige, they wouldn't be responding with rockets. -

That's highly debatable, but irrelevant. Answer the question: What should/would Canadians do? Say the US blockaded Nova Scotia? -

Well I guess that pretty much captures the disagreement: Israel thinks it can take over any land it can get its hands on by military might. Their neighbours disagree. So does the UN. -

What do you think Canada would do/should do if penned in by military and naval blockades by the US? Because that's where the problem lies that gives rise to the Palestinian rockets.
