I did judge him on what he's done, or lack there of. In fact where his money came from is a factor in his ability, silver spooned individuals require extra effort to show any incremental success. I merely stated however one of the gripes of Ford is that he's a family made man, well so is Tory. I'm the farthest fan of Ford (AKA druken bull in any shop), I merely lament the best that can be offered is Milk toast McGee here. I would argue that there is huge gushing over him due to the alternatives you've mentioned. Is there not a principled, thoughtful, successful.......I'll even waive sober politician in all of the 3 million torontonians?

PM Harper Shows Canadian Loyalty to Israel
Bob Macadoo replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
Sigh. Why is it antisemitic to state a politician is pandering to a group, whether its Tamils, Tibetans, or Israeli? The expectation is not to assume they are one block of vote but that you can appeal to a majority of the group by continually providing snippets to play to their hearts and minds. See Monument Against Communism. Its not antisemitism, its cynicism. Just for perspective Those (2) things I would argue are directly linked to Israeli matters. Please discuss what foreign affair matters beyond ME items which affect the security of Israel that the principled gov't is active on that you celebrate. -
I can't understand why people gush over Tory, are alternatives that bare? The man is the epitome of the entitled aristocracy, more so than Rob Ford. He's the son of a successful investor/politician born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He's attended only elite schooling, received jobs through nepotism (Ted Rogers is a family friend, or his family law firm), or ran canadian institutions (CFL) into the ditch. He's run unsuccessfully for Mayor and Premier; and always fallen back to broadcasting (loose definition) when everyone else abandons him. He's never enhanced any position he's held. He's typically Cdn, dry as melba toast, and full of platitudes but no substance. Disagree with Rob Ford but he takes a stand, whether he has facts on his side or not, and is bombastic in his approach enough to energize people. John Tory energizes no one, his best argument is he doesn't anger anyone.

Does the IOC have veto rights on wardrobe? Some rainbow armbands/gloves and a 68 "pride" power type salute would be in order.

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/paul-grayson/j-paul-grayson-york-professor_b_4611750.htmlI predicted earlier what this was about, (1) man's ego, and it seems he's proving me out. He's all alone in his crusade against abuses of the Human Rights Code. Never about education, supported also by the rumour he let other exemptions on this task, just not the "dirty segragator".

Omar Khadr To Be Transferred To Medium-Security Federal Prison: Lawyer http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/01/17/omar-khadr-medium-security-prison_n_4619401.html Almost like the Harper Gov't doesn't think they have angered their base. I wonder how the opposition can use this? j/k. Someone should find Toews for a quote......"Either you're for maximum security or you're with the blood thirsty terrorists."

I was supposed to have my jetpack by now according to the scientists 40 years ago.......don't hold your breath, we only evolve from neccesity, not for shytes and giggles. -
What external body can "sanction morality" then? I kinda thought thats why we developed laws.I'd say like most expansions of gov't sanctioned morality, it should provide no further benefit to those that are in the circle. Tax benefits included.

Doesn't matter. Just saying this isn't excessive accommodation, or even special accommodation, just everyday business unless you can make hey off the accommodation request. That ship has sailed and you were at the wrong pier. This would be due to York's liberalization, which allows open personal choice, you get this situation. In addition segregation by all kinds of factors is alive and well, gender is no different.

Actually thats what university is known for, accommodation in the face of all logic. Thats what gets me about this, the prof looked for a reason to deny. If any other manner of exemption request was made he would've likely shrugged his shoulders. In this case the "sociology" academic decided to do research into the topic......interesting. I would suggest a future lecture was outlined that day.I went to university with a mature student (old drafter), he was always grouped away from females as he made it clear he thought they weren't serious about "real" engineering so he wouldn't take them seriously. Accommodation for old white guy confirmed.

No. I said the exact oil backed experts said doing something about CFCs would be futile, just like they do today. Voilà profiteers were right again....oh wait.....well they helped so we should just believe them again next time. -

But HCFCs are ozone depleting as well, that must've knocked those industry leaders when those bans came out, and each alternative and so on until today. Again solution wasn't in hand, but change came all the same. Stick and weave, we'll beat mother nature yet. Good for you and those some people, the ones making decisions are enjoying the heating frog pot I described and think.....meh I could use a hot tub anyway. -

Original treaty in 1987. Complete alternatives didn't exist, but controlled sprawling phaseout did begin much to the chagrin of industry. Guess what we adapted and evolved.....hmmmm another kick at the religion comparison.....life doesn't end at the bottom of a balance sheet. -

They used to say economies would crumble if we stopped using CFCs. They being the oil companies. Then alternatives were found by oil research and enviro social change combined. Now which came first? Profit robbing R&D? Let you guess. There are a large group of agnostics out there who are willing to "buy a few rosary beads" but not join the monastery. We never hear from them as the Jimmy Swaggerts (both sides) drown everyone else out. -
Sensationalism (1. He made a request not a demand, and in the end did the assignment without arguement. (2. It was an online course, if interactive group work were a known requirement, it might have changed course decisions. (3. The only reason this made the papers is the prof got his nose out of joint as he was overuled. York academia are known for their "me"ness. IMO the prof should leave administrative items to the administration, and concentrate on his teaching. (4. All with the opinion that there should be no exemptions, but exemptions are given arbitrarily in college, your innocuous excuse is just as good as the next.

I rarely get involved in these discussions as these aren't in my opinion much in the air of debate. Either you want to do something or you don't and you'll take whatever stance meets your level of action. I guess that gives it a similarity to religion as much as aetheism I guess. Something I always think about was how man-made depletion of the ozone layer was denied by "infidels" from the time it was postulated in the mid-70s until well after it was definitively measured a decade or so later. Then accepted as fact and great that we acted globally on it. Now new lines are being drawn, which side is it safer to be on? -
Are you asking him to disprove his own claim? That must be some of the most disingenuous and/or lazy debate I've seen in awhile. I think I've finally seen all matters of trolling I could possibly imagine.*clap*clap*clap* Thanks Cyber your input was informative.

Really? You're really going to stick with that? Just admit you went into hyperbole, pull yourself back from the ledge and move on.

Yes but that 10% are concentrated in areas that are "policed" heavily, hence the "interaction".
