  1. Hmmm. Seems like a coronation to me. I wonder if "Mum" likes preserves with her crumpets.
  2. Heaven forbid there's a election....errr war at stake here.
  3. Are you saying that committee review will produce no changes even though that was a stated action/result by the gov't? Strange.I'm a non-partisan and hope gov't operates as its supposed to..... 1) gov't introduces legislation that is free from politiking (ie. "Does Trudeau love pedophiles?") 2) oppositions perform review and show appropriate level criticism (ie. "There'll be Gestapo in the streets") 3) goes to committee and bill is amended taking into account both the criticism and gov'ts end goal 4) H of C presents balanced legislation to public together without partisan buffoonery and bluster
  4. Who? Were you on the Hill....on a tour of HofC.....during the "rampage"? I was enjoying a turkey club....30sec on a news ticker for me. Now I'm affected with reactionary legislation.
  5. Just for the record "crap" isn't incomprehensible as you were able to define its value. I would think it would be more appropriate to say "...voluminous, rambling crap." or "...voluminous, insightful prose."
  6. Other names were on his list. But not you. That's ok, he wasn't talking to you. Unless you consider yourself that obtuse.
  7. It matters not whether you think its a double standard......I await Charlie Hebdo's upcoming satire focussed on this. Might make for a haughty political cartoon.
  8. Kind of like how ISIL is uniting Syrians and Iraqis? Cool.
  9. I don't think that was snobbery....do you spend your day caring about what's going on in Toronto? Life is local is all.
  10. Please tell me you were satirizing here.
  11. If you describe sarcasm.....it kinda loses its definition.I would think hereditary monarchy would have more to do with it than the Koran >>> US foreign policy. Should we dismiss the Koran now that we have a larger culprit?
  12. Then balls up and don't be "mealy" about. You meant one thing and said differently. It was dishonest debate to try and shroud your actual opinion to try and score some argument point. Own your disrespect don't run from it.
  13. You can't make blanket slurs (natives, inner city black people, muslims, polkadot purple people eaters, etc.), or connect a culture to behaviour and then say I only mean those who wield the sword.........it's mealy....to steal a phrase.
  14. The context isn't the problem.
  15. Here's what I got from the article is this.....which is exactly how I educate my children;I rely on schools to educate my children, I rely on myself to reinforce that learning. That is why alot of people are defensive to "progressive learning"; you need to be hands-on with your children's education not just an advocate. I "drill" my children at home as real life situations present themselves with respect to arithmetic, trigonometry, etc. Its easy.....and I don't want schools doing easy work. I want them performing the descriptions in the article; Review common misteps in answering a question, not just that its wrong, have discussions about usefulness, or observations about application. Education isn't an either/or discussion......there are just so many hours in the day, what is going to be teacher taught and what is going to be parent taught. I'd prefer the teacher show the origins of the theorm......I'll reinforce and feedback about its retention. All parents want to be advocates for their children but in this service economy we live in, they think somehow they can do it without providing some of those contract services themselves.
  16. This is exactly what's going on in the classrooms everyday......universities running observation evaluations of each new and recently new technique. Providing analysis, review and discussion with teachers, principals, and policy makers. You all really think they just drop this manual on the table named "NOT the Old Fart Way" and fait complit?Don't listen to the above ramblings/insults......its an organic process......observations that kids are bad at math today is because kids are bad at math . I can find a 50 y.o. cashier who can't make change the same as a 18 y.o. Guess who I have less respect for, the one who just started in the workforce or the one who most likely done the same the job for the last quarter century? Today's kids who are getting this math are developing some of the most cutting edge technology and letting us take the evolutionary jumps we'll need to survive damage caused by each previous generation. Some kids don't get it (like my oldest) where I have to coach alot and others are able to use it for what it is. My youngest is 7 years younger and performs above my oldest and at that grade level.
  17. The point was it was tabled during "left years". I am not gung-ho to change FPTP to gang up on Conservatives. Not my bag, just pointing out our knowledgable "visitor" is mistaken.....again.
  18. You mean like a referendum on PR in ON with Liberals in gov't. Thanks for the Yankee informed opinion.
  19. Wow that was alot of effort for a smirk....you're dedicated.
  20. Were you conveying our politicians are a reflection of our apathy/laziness for the process and hence appropriate? I think the term "good" was used incorrectly unless you were sincere and "I laugh in your general direction."
  21. Its not about the programs or funding level......its about the administration and blame for ineffectiveness thereof. Spending program after program when things go bad this gov't puts it at the feet of the user (fakers, abusers, etc) rather than saying we slipped up on our job as oversight on this......here's how we fix that.
  22. When you comment on the Rue soliloquy under Zionism......I'll heed your contribution.
  23. Can someone explain to me is this taxation of revenue in the West Bank using Israeli Revenue Agency or taxation of Palestinian income in Israel? If its the former......sue.....if its the latter.......don't work there.
